Haven't watched today's episode yet, so no comment on that.

Wow people really don't like A Clone of My Own. It's not my favorite episode but it is above Cryonic Woman and A Leela of Her Own. ACOMO has some good lines though...

Farnsworth: That damn time machine alone set me back 15 years.

The time machine line I'm still trying to figure out... did he lose 15 years inveting it or did he go back in time. Probably the former. Elzar is such a bad chef, how did he manage to forget to cook the cicken? I love when during Farnsworths documatary it cuts away when Fry says "Dork Alert" and they cut away from the movie and Fry and Farnsie look almost exactly the same.

I hope that there are more responses for HHRHGB.

Yep, not a big fan of Cubert, but the professor telling off the panel at the university was great, especially when he continues even after they revealed that it was a surprise birthday party.

Objection!   ACoMO is actually one of my favorite episodes.  Granted, I'm not a huge fan of Cubert, but the animation is beautiful and most of Farnsworth's lines here are hilarious ("I'm sure that Bender has just made a cutting remark, but he doesn't know I taped over his soap operas to record this message."    :laff: ).  This is in my top three episodes of season 2.

I love the professor's face when Fry tells the audience that if he made the professor's video biography like he should have, there would have been more topless women on motor cycles. The professor would have quite enjoyed that just from his expression...

No offence meant Officer 1BDI ACoMO is alse one of my faves of season 2 too. I was suprised that it had been almost a day and no one had made any replies. It has some good lines and stuff. I don't really like Cubert either but I love how the crew is around him a his insults and stuff. And Farsie just contimuing his rant so funny.

Farnsworth: Listen to me, you pompous frauds. If I'm going down, I'm taking you all with me. Dean Vernon, I know the truth: It was you driving your hover-car that night, not your horse. Dean Epsilon, I know all about your "Department of Pool Boy Studies". And Dr. Wernstrom ... Wernstrom!

I love how Farnsworth knows all this and then he gets to Wernstrom and he doesn't ahev anything. Department of Pool Boys Studies?  Creepy Dean.

Ok, I have to say that I never really got all the Cubert-hate. I mean, yes, he's annoying, but that's because he's
supposed to be annoying. His whole point is to be annoying.

Also, the Professor's birthday is one day before mine.

Yeah I never got the whole hating Cubert stuff either. The whole point of Cubert was to point out all the stuff that was messed up with Sci-fi and what not.

I don't actually hate Cubert.  I just think that, as a character, there's nothing interesting about him.  He played "the observer" for an episode and a half, if that, and then he was suddenly transformed into "generic tween #2."

I wish the writers had focused a bit more on the child genius status he (and Dwight?) seems to hold; I think I would have found that more interesting than the "normal" childhood plots those two were used to explore.  I don't hate "The Route of All Evil," and "Bender Should Not Be Allowed on Television" isn't the worse episode of the series, but both saw Cubert and Dwight fall into (IMO) rather tired and predictable roles with little to no character development.  If I wanted to watch kids being kids, I'd turn to Bart and Lisa Simpson.

That's true; but I think maybe part of the reason Dwight and Cubert reverted to being more "normal kids" in later episodes was the vehement hatred that Cubert seemed to inspire in some quarters. I was referring to the people that really seem to hate Cubert as an annoying little twat; but I always felt that his character was written that way to, as Bendersfan said, sort of spoof sci-fi fanatics. Plus I love his line about the magical elf.  :)

If my friend had made it to Comic-Con with me, he was going to make me cosplay for a day, and I was horribly tempted to go as Morgan.

But I didn't.  And then I ran into several Fry cosplayers and I was suddenly very grateful that I hadn't.  :p

This is also one of my top season 2 picks.  The musical number is great, only surpassed by the Robot Devil's songs in my book.  Morgan's one of the few one-time characters that I'd wish they'd bring back (although I have no idea why or how they'd do that).

I love when Heremes is threatening to jump off the PlanEx building and Bender yells "Do a flip!" So messed up.   :evillaugh: I don't know why I'm favoring the   :evillaugh: smiley today but I am. The musical number is very fun and active it is my 3rd favorite. My second being the Robot Hell Bonanza and my first being the Opera. I hope that in future episode thay heve more songs. They could probably write a great musical episode if they wanted because the songs are so good but I don't see that happening, but it'sd be intersting too see. Ooops off topic. "Dirty boy!!" God I love that.

Morgan: (shouting) Bureaucrat Conrad, if you complete your death transaction without filing a suicide and/or falling accident permit, you will be posthumously demoted.

The Beuracrats are really anal. You have to fill out a form so you can trip/fall or commit sucide? If I had to do that I would never be able to stop filling out forms. People should call me Amy because of my clusiness. Has anyone notice how big Fry's eyes get when Morgan kissed him? they like double in size. I think I'm done now...

I love the Professor's story.

Professor: "You can't just waltz into the Central Bureaucracy. It's a tangled web of red tape and regulations. I've never been but a friend of mine went completely mad trying to find the washroom there."

Leela: "Then we'll need a guide. Someone who's been there before."

Professor: "Oh, I've been there. Lots of times!" (Laughs maniacally)

To me this episode improved upon second and third viewings. Morgan is fantastic, and i like how they integrated the three plots--the Hermes one, the Fry/Morgan one and the Bender-losing-his-brain one. The song is my third favorite too, after the Robot Hell one (hard to ever top that) and the Neptunian elves.

[Several fish leap up to his head. He screams and knocks them off. Zoidberg comes up behind him and sniffs him.]
Zoidberg: (sexfully) I'm so into you!
[He wraps his mouth flaps around Farnsworth's head and slurps.]

"The Deep South" probably was the best Dr. Zoidberg episode. It comes to show when a character isn't the center of attention but is put in unusual situations fitting to it brings out the best of it. Not only are there gags about his hunger and financial status, they stuck in his characteristics as an animal (Zoidberg was great at sniffing) and the one-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him to be a homeowner.

Oh yes, I love the fish pheromone sequence.  You know something funny is going to happen when the professor sprays himself but you don't it's going to be that funny.

I listened to the commentary and until today I didn't understand the Colonel's line "Well what about that rich young dugong from Macon?"  I thought he was saying "doo-gum" from Macon and figured it was some southern expression for a "go-getter."  Live and learn.

Intersting that Cohen's dad is a marine biologist; I wonder if the whale biologist with an attitude in 300 Big Boys is an inside joke at his expense.  By the time we get to that it will be just a few days before The New Stuff!  Hooray!

The is definitely one of my favorite episodes.
Though I may have over watched it just a teensy bit at this point.

I like some of the more science-y jokes in this one:
Professor: Dear lord! Thats over 150 atmospheres of pressure!
Fry: How many atmospheres can the ship withstand?
Professor: Well it's a spaceship, so I would say anywhere between zero and one.

Also the music when the ship is first getting pulled under is awesome.

It took my 8 year old laughing until he fell off the couch to point out just how funny this Bender line was: "[King mode]I say, [Normal mode]get the hell off me!"  All in the delivery.

And I loved the way he ran out of expressions starting with the word 'old':

This episode might also contain Fry's most intelligent moment. He makes that complicated string system to fly the ship from the gun turret and actually does pretty well. At least until Leela realises that she was flying with a water dish.

I wasn't very complicated though. It was just strings tied around the steering wheel so that it moved what ever way it was pulled. But yeah it was a smart idea.
