Now imagine if Amazonia was a planet of giant men who sentenced Leela and Amy to death by snu-snu.
Imagine that. The Fox network would have been forced to shut down overnight.
But men don't really mind being made fun of in that manner, so the episode does border on a nice bit of social commentary...
I'd give it a C-.

Xanfor, you are sooo much not a real man.
To quote Fry: "I never thought that I'd die this way, but I always hoped!"
And considering Amy's history, it may be thw way she'd want to go, too.
Now the nauseating thing to me was that Bea Arthur was involved with this episode.

^^ Leela in her negligee, worms or not, is much hotter The whole Fantastic Voyage/Inner Space part was hilarious (Bender: ABANDON SHIP!!!), although one would think in the future, they'd still have effective anthelmintics. I liked the joke when Fry fights the worm king, he enters the elevator and the bottom-most floor is the "Ball room"... Despite the shippyness, I must say this episode doesn't cast Leela in a good light, she appears somewhat superficial. [Monotone] "all glory to the shiny [/Monotone] I never read that before it's really good. It also makes me alot less critical of Leela in this episode. Which is impressive because it's probably one of mabey three times that my mind has been changed in less than five minutes. (In case you don't know I'm incredibly stubborn.) Originally posted by bend_her: ^^ Leela in her negligee, worms or not, is much hotter I agree with everything he just said! Parasites also has on of my favorite Professor moments. Nice fic Shiny wrote there (read it before), but I don't see how it's relevant to my statement. I must just be stupid.
I missed the fact that the Neptunians were gay the first time I watched this. Zoidberg as Jesus has to be the funniest visual on Futurama!

"This is the best DVD commentary ever!" Personally, I think that song was perfect, given all of the Breakfast Club mentions scattered throughout the episode. And the lyrics were so effing fitting.... And I thought Bender added a much needed laugh to that ending, but I'm weird like that. In fact, my favorite part of the commentary is not when they break out into "Nobody Cares," but when they're listening to Yancy's monologue at the end and DiMaggio and West suddenly start ad-libbing lines for the baby ("I can't breathe in here!" ) and then Ron Weiner tells them off ("Some people are trying to cry here!" ). Weiner tends to write Bender as a very selfish, jerky character (see: "A Pharoh to Remember" ), but when that attitude's used in brief instances like it was in this episode, it works for me. This episode's always really hard for me to watch, for a variety of reasons, but God I love it so. It's still my favorite of the entire series after all these years. I still get a kick out of the search page on the Farnsworth's computer looking remarkably like TFO's forums.

Ahh, two of my favorite episodes are on this disc, Luck Of the Fryrish and Parasites Lost. This one made me weep when I first saw it.

The song was fitting, they could have edited it a bit better, though. I liked this episode mostly for all the 80s references thrown in.
Could someone explain the "Fryrish" bit? I never quite got that.

I have too agree. The nobody cares thing is hilarious. It took me awhile to notice but I always thought it was funny that they bring the statue of Fry's nephew back with them for no reason. I also love the whole sequence of Bender at the cemetary. He's like a kid in a candy store.

Without the "r" it's a marginally less obvious parody. [whine]You don't have to rub it in!!![/whine] But thanks, I didn't know that. One of the better jokes in the episode was the series of horse jokes, especially Hermes' pun
