So what are our perceptions of Jacob. Is it a (semi)Physical person, or is it a different illusion/Hullucination to each person? Why does he want help?

Heh, best episode synopsis from Uncyclopedia:

Locke meets back up with the others, and after senselessy beating up the russian guy, who is senselessly still alive, he forces Ben to take him to meet Jacob, whoever the hell that is. Back at the beach, more time is wasted before the action goes back to locke. Ben and Locke arrive at the cabin. Inside, Ben starts talking to an empty chair. Locke starts getting pissed. Then Ben says "haha, just playing with ya man, there is no jacob, lets go back to the camp". as Locke is about to leave he hears a voice ask for help. He turns on his light saber at which point mad shit starts flying around the room and Ben starts talking to the chair again. In the chaos there is briefly seen an outline of a man, played by kris kristofferson (much resembling his character "Whistler" from Blade), suddenly in the chair. Locke and Ben leave. Some stuff happens, Ben shoots Locke, simultaneously half the viewing audience changes the channel, the other half swearing if Locke dies they will burn Lost to the ground. cliffhanger...

I think I spotted two errors:

1) Saeed (sp?) is explaining his plan..  there are two sentences where it sounds as if a part of his speech is added post-filming. Around minute 14 somewhere.

2) Desmond and Charlie are with the boat on the beach. Hurley goes away again and Charlie follows him. [image turns] and we see a cameraman's legs in the sand, he's sitting next to the boat.

Quick-eyed Belgian!  :p

Ya next week, the shit will hit the fan:
-Will Charlie die this time around?
-Will Desmond ever wake up from his oar-induced coma?
-Will Jack come back from the tower in his Millenium falcon and hit Bens Advanced Tie fighter just in time so that... ummm... someone can blow up the... aw crap I didn't think this analogy through very well!
-Will Sawyer get his giggity giggity on with Kate before the season is out?
Tune in next week! z0mg!!11eleventyone

And it's the same thing with Lost. They always do not pick up the story where it ended last time, but go on elsewhere.

And because of this I knew that they wouldn't show what happened to Locke after Ben left in this episode...

Hey Slackit, interesting theory. It could also explain why they wanted Walt, with his supernatural abilities.

I just read spoilers from tv.com [I am deliberately not linking] and the two last eps from this seasons are going to be quite a surprise. They may include
not flashbacks but
-minor spoiler-

And finally, next week's episode title, Through the Looking Glass is a children's book by Lewis Carrol. wikipedia says "In it, there are many mirror themes, including opposites, time running backwards, and so on."

Jack HAS seen his father's body...before he came to the island. In the hospital morgue, I believe is where. He uncovers the sheet to his dad's body and sees him, and starts to cry. Remember now?  :D
Anyway, this is part of an IM conversation a friend and I had that mostly sums up what I think on that particular thing in the episode:
Anyway, that one thing definitely threw anybody off who might've been at all close to guessing what was going on.
...and then I see Chay's Head has just said about everything I have written. Oh well.  :D

Quote

More of the convo:
Then I found this freeze frame today. Of what we can see of the name, it seems to be one we're not familiar with yet.

Quote

Good theory.
This wasn't really a theory, but just part of the conversation where I talked about that:

Quote

I was thinking those exact same things as well.

Quote

He actually seemed like a funny, nice guy after he took the beard off...and then in this episode he was a total jackass who wanted to kill people, heh.

Josh, kates gonna be married to Sawyer, theres no other lostie that shes really associated with, so its not sawyer in the coffin.

And no, I dont remember Jack going to a wake for his father.  Episode name and screen shot please.

Also, about Charlie.  He was thinking for a second that maybe Desmond was wrong, that he could survive and still get rescued.  When he saw russian dude ready to kill him, I think he realized that he HAD to die, and that no one would be resuced if he just ran.  Lets say that Charlie ran out of the room, well then russian guy doesnt put the grenade there, kills Charlie and Des elsewhere and puts the scrabler back on.

I didn't say wake. I said hospital morgue...
You know, when they ask you to identify the body, and you go and lift up the sheet. Jack did that, and he said something like "Ya, that's him." and breaks down.
I'm almost certain it was in White Rabbit (season 1). I will attempt to quickly find a frame grab.
HERE.
The framegrabs are kinda dark and weird, but they're good enough to see. What I'm talking about is portrayed in the first three rows of framegrabs there.  :)

Why did Locke wuss out?

1) Good question. But remember, Walt didn't want to leave the island either and it was never really explained what was 'wrong' with him or if they really made it of the island.
Then again, Walt didn't sound like Walt at all, though.

But if the BCT would have not wanted them to make the call, why did it not see to itself?

2) Perhaps for the same reason he could not kill his father. And Sawyer wasn't around.

Maybe it was just bad makeup, but it seem to me that Locke's gunshot wound was gone. Strange, is it not?

Is Christian still alive or is Jack just crazeh?

I think that statement was just a red herring, to make it harder to realize that this wasn't one of the regular flashbacks, but actually a flash-forward.

Some guy on another forum predicted that Penny would say "Who's Naomi?" I bet he's feeling pretty damn smug, and I guess it's the real Dharma Initiative on the boat?

That could be a possible answer. I always found it strange that the Dharma initative also had nerve gas canisters in their stock.
Perhaps Mikhali's tale was true after all.

Great finale.

Indeed.

But so many new questions...
Has everybody been picked up? Locke seemed to leave the radio tower and Desmond also knew that the people on the freighter were not who Naomi claimed to be. What happened to the remaining Others? What is the Temple? Also, where was Vincent?   ;)

I'm curious where the next season will begin.
Shame that we have until 2008 to find out. Although the new arrangement makes sense.

That's what I thought possibly at first, but who knows...if it is Jacob's obituary, then that's a sure sign that there is a LOT more stuff that will happen on the island before they get off that would cause Jack to be sad about this.
While it's impossible to know, personally I doubt it says Jacob. But we certainly know nobody with that name yet (unless they're using a fake name). It also shows most of the last name..."antham" or something. At least it appears to be where the last name would be by looking at the length of the fold in the paper there. It doesn't look like there's enough room for another word there.
But who knows, maybe "James Ford" could fit...short name. So   :p at Slacky.   ;)
Actually, as long as we're talking about character's names that start with "Jo" or "Ja" (excluding Jack, of course, heh), there's also John Locke, heh.

Perhaps that person in the coffin was somebody we have not been introduced to yet.
Who know? Also, I found that this coffin was rather short, yet I had the impression the corpse was intact, otherwise they would have not conducted a public viewing, right?

Also, I'm not sure whether Kate would really be living together with James Ford, after all he is wanted for murder in Australia. Juliet made that quite clear the police there knew that he had something to do with the death of the guy he had shot there. And I doubt that they would drop this just because he was marooned on a strange island for about three months.

Furthermore, isn't it strange that Jack does not seem to know where the island is?
