Yeah, well, they aren't dead, so why would that clash with the theory that the island is some sort purgatory? Hm? I'm not quite sure I understand if you're actually asking that question or joking or what...please clear that up, if you don't mind? At least to help out my primitive brain. Also, I think that you misunderstood something regarding Sun. She didn't mean that she is already dead, but that she's doomed to die because she conceived her child on the island. I didn't misunderstand...I knew she wasn't being literal, and that she menat exactly what you just explained. My point was that the statement was one of the three that I mentioned which referenced the IDEA of being already dead, and helped create a sort of theme in the episode. And maybe nobody (except for the Others) knows that this Island (or rather the isles) exist... This has definitely already been established on the show, but a lot of people forget. It's in the season 2 finale, when Ben tells Michael the only way to leave the island is by following an exact compass direction, and the once he leaves he will never be able to return. It seems to imply that the island is perhaps a supernaturally obscured location. Sorta like those Bermuda Triangle theories of ships disappearing to another realm or something (not that I believe any of that, just giving an example). How should she? The 2nd season finale indicated that Penny was still searching for Desmond, who apparently vanished while sailing around the world. When the sky turned purple, the people working her (apparently) saw and the Naomi was sent there to check it out. SEEMS simple enough, although the execs have said it's not. They said they'll be showing that scene (at the end of the season 2 finale) again in a different way. Apparently, whatever you thought was going on there the first time is only half of what's really going on, after they show a different aspect to it. But they also said the end of this latest episode would change the entire view of the show (and I already talked about my problems with that whole thing), so they might just be full of themselves. What I wanted to say was: "They aren't dead, so why would that clash with the fact that they debunked the theory that the island is some sort of purgatory." ...and helped create a sort of theme in the episode. except that dieing was IMHO not a theme in this episode. But they also said the end of this latest episode would change the entire view of the show The big revelation: IT'S A TV SHOW! What? Never seen Truman show? Also, for the record: I don't listen to the Lost podcats. Nor do I give much about the creators' annoucements about what is about to come. All I say is: "2nd season finale is going to be the best season finale ever!" Yeah, right.

Dammit Kate, I hope Sayid beats your ass for giving away the secret, and to Juliette aswell! What's the hell's wrong with you? Bit of closure there for John and James (I assume he'll go by that name now), an Ben was a real asshole. Although at the end of the episode I was totally expecting the corpse to groan and come alive again right on Lockes back, it was 50/50 there for a second in my mind... *shudders* Maybe it will happen next episode. I don't trust Jack now either, what the heck did "We should tell her" mean? That didn't look like the Black Rock I remember... wasn't it blacker?

Even though we'll get essentially the same number of episodes that we would have done if there were two more seasons (48), they'll be able to sort everything out into three smaller arcs. It'll really suck having to wait so long for them, especially without The Lost Experience, but if it means they get more time to write and produce the series (with the same budget per season as before), then we'll be in for something special.

Five people are going to die? Well, goodbye Rick, Mick, Dick, Sally & Susan. What, you don't know them? Seriously, my money is on Charlie. Because Desmond said so.

Arrgh, I think I'll keep away from this thread for a few weeks now you're posting spoilers about the finale (cheers, Gocad, really appreciated that :P). Anyway, anyone notice how the first thing we saw in Jacob's tent was... ... a picture of a dog

Chay's running commentry! Thats totally Ben's parents... Nope, i'm wrong, not on the island. Nope, i'm right, Benjamin it is! He lied! He hasn't spent his life on the island! OH EM GEE!!! Ben Flashback! Awesome! OOooo, go locke! "What are you mcfly ben? Chickena liar?" Oris Gutsby, do we know that name? In show, and out of show, is he a famouts actor? Hi, Annie, nice chocolate bar! BAHAHA, they found Ben's dad!!! BAHAHA Holy fucking shit, Locke went to town on Mikhail Eeep, who is jacob? Why a gun? Woman in the window scared me too. Uhoh, kates about to find out she's preggers. Egads, he talks! haha, "Hard to celebrate on the day you killed you mum" i like this guy, he's funny. Okay, so Bens ma-maa, Part of the renegades? Does ben join them and turn against dharma? Told you fuckers!!! She's good! MWHAHA! CAtching up to do indeed! Turn the fence back on idiot! I think it's time for a smokey encounter ben... Guess not, looks like some people don't age. Ol' smokey up to tricks again? playing dead people ala eko'a bro? "We're here" - quite possiblty the owrst episode to be watching late at night with no lights on. It's terrifying. The cool PEEL blue is soothing thought. Back to Terror! The fuck... Where's Jacob? IS been pulling a clever ruse, or is he fucking nuts? HELP WHO? AHHH! Dear god. None of the above, not nuts, clever...just right. Finally coming clean about his lies! Not born on the island indeed! Ben is totally going to kill his own father, that why he wanted locke to kill his... sorta Knew it... Fuck, mass grave. Nice. Holy jesus mother shit!!! He has to be okay!!! Wow, that was awesome. So in summary: I was right about Juliet = Good and that whole thing. Also, Zmithy, har har about the dog. Also, as if they "Jumped the shark". the show's just starting to get really interesting. And yeah, he's not dead...yet. Remember that ep of 24 where jack died for a little bit? Totally like that. [/epic post] EDIT: We saw two shots, a quick left to right pan of Jacob sitting in the chair, then a close up of angry eye.
Gah, whats a good screen grab tool that'll let me grab in front of the overlay?

Still, I don't like when TV shows mess with my head and turn my perfect world upside down. And yeah, he's not dead...yet. Remember that ep of 24 where jack died for a little bit? Totally like that. True, but somehow I doubt that Ben and Locke stuck their heads together and decided to play a prank on the audience. Not dead yet isn't the same as not dead. And it wouldn't be the first time they killed someone off although that character's story wasn't really told. It would be interesting to know whether they addressed this on the epsiode's podcast.
