Can I get this as my avatar? Its the one I use on Treehouse and I drew it myself... Just curious because everyone seems to be doing the Simpson-y thing.

they tend to look rather jagged on the outline in my best attempt to remove the anti-aliasing. Don't bother. I tried that for a while and it isn't worth the effort. The anti-aliasing doesn't show up on screen anyway. Pretty good avatars nonetheless

On the offchance that Drippy_Taco looks in this thread: Please check the Avy-ators Playground thread. Many people have put add to pool in their posts, and I don't see any of them in the pool. Arachnid: Scan tutorial

If you leave bicubic/bilinear on, it anti-aliases (effectively), and looks crap against anything but white, but if you pick nearest neighbour, all your lines vanish :/ Second - is there anything wrong with using the clone stamp to color in the area inside the lines with the original shading etc?

I'll let someone who knows what they're talking about answer that question. I use the framegrab method (and I have made some pretty good avatars, thank you very much!) and just found the link in another thread.

Like aslate said. The anit-aliasing won't show up on PEEL if you pick the right colour. (Check out some of the PEEL avatars to see what I mean). Second - is there anything wrong with using the clone stamp to color in the area inside the lines with the original shading etc? If you're using good quality framegrabs. Distortions may show up on bad quality ones. It's quicker to just pick up the colour from the original frame grab and paint bucket it a couple of times (to fill in the gaps). At least, that's how I do it in Photoshop.

Hil, take a look at the "Avy-ators Playground" thread in Off Topic. Quite a few avatars based on the new episodes have been made, and I'm working on a few more for THBB right now.

If someone has it on DVD and can get me a framegrab of it, I'll give it a shot.

No, animated avatars are not allowed.
Reed's avatar originates from before mArc took over, back then animated gif's were allowed.
