Wow,people talking about Archer and Adventure Time being better than Futurama? Oh my god, why?

Archer as series has a good concept and the character, well I like him for some reason anyway the art is...damn,it's cheap (but well,I liked shows with worse art style) also I don't like the continuity in that show is too forced with all these love triangles (I'm okay with Archer/Lana love-hate relationship anyway it's interesting to see) that make you see the show since the first episode,or you wont have idea what the heck they're talking about, and that annoys me.Because the show could be better without that.

And Adventure Time, wow is the king of the forced plots and drama.I mean, isn't supposed to be a kids show? Either I'm saying that should be treated like that in a 100% and even in the old "kids show" you can find innuendos, arcs and pop culture references that makes the show a bit more enjoyable (The Fairly Odd Parents it's the perfect example when that's perfectly done, or at least in early seasons), but in this case, isn't enjoyable, imo. But personally Adventure Time works more like a parody of all these "I'm gonna kill the dragon and save the princess" situations (I personally like the fact that Princess Bubblegum is smarter than Finn, she is a really well written character),so yeah it's creppy see that they are happy in a moment but then ANGST AND HIDDEN PLOTS. That was really necesary?

I'm just saying that Adventure Time doesn't need an elaborated story and Archer damn, it could be better. But well I only watched 2 seasons of Archer and some random Adventure Time's episodes when I had CN on my TV.

And now, about Futurama, you can start to see the series since a random order and it's the same, you don't really need to see episodes as Jurassic Bark or Thw Why of Fry, for understand what is going on in the other episodes or in the same episode that you're watching randomly. I know, these are important episodes but isn't the end of the world if you don't see Futurama in order.

The point is,I'm glad that Futurama has a simple story after all ,so see the character's pasts and some explanation to some situations it's a great bonus and makes the series really enjoyable.

I'm not saying that Futurama it's perfect,it's ok if you don't like the newest season but, I think is unfair make really strict comparations from the originally run and stuff that was written in the 2004 with the actual seasons.Times change and writting styles too, so yeah, I don't find wrong if they want to make fun about pop culture and actual technology, I mean they live in the future after all...also they did the same in the early seasons.

So,I highly disagree with the picture that cyber turnip posted, after this week's episode I still amazed how the writters (especially Mike Rowe, you aren't supposed to be a bad writter? :D ) can make you feel things,so yeah Futurama isn't rotten after all...except for the Fry/Leela relationship, it's a another bonus personally, the seires could be the same without them.

And about people who are expecting a super epic ending...I can't see the future, but if you have really HIGH expectatives then you're might be dissapointed even if was a good ending.

I only want a fair thing for everyone, not just a Fry/Leela thing. And another movie realease can be a good come back,as long if is on DVD.

And well, that is just my opinion, anyway about that picture fits perfectly with The Big Bang Theory,a show that I love but I think it's time to end it.

EDIT: What time is it? it's TOTP Time!

What's wrong with Fry/Leela? Anyway, I think you're right about AT being a very dramatic and forced. Sometimes I like it, but sometimes when it's got a bad episode, it's REALLY got a bad episode.

There's nothing wrong about it,I dont hate it but I don't love it as everyone else, just I don't like when gets all the attention in the show, because Futurama have more content than just romance, because if I want romance...well there are soap operas.

Anyway I loved how worked in "Leela and the Genestalk" because was a little part of the plot and was fair between them. As I said pages before, sometimes is unfair when they show the wrost from the characters (Fry being a crybaby and Leela a jerk) because the ship and make everything more "dramatic" and "epic".

I agree that Fry/Leela gets little too much attention. It's very important theme in the whole series and is base of the best episodes. (It's the emotional aspect in epic episodes with time travel and such, which makes the best episodes the best.) I just don't feel it should be taken for granted to be present in every episode and to be the main thing in Futurama.

On another note: although I like to see the progress of their relationship thruoghout the series, I think I'd enjoy more if they weren't necessarily together as before season 7. I'm not sure, though, since it could have made Fry/Leela plots too repetitive, but I essentially would enjoy more of their unclear relationship.

I don't think F/L relationship took over the show. There are only three F/L-centered episodes this year - "Fry and Leela's Big Fling", "Leela and the Genestalk" and "Meanwhile". In the rest of episodes their relationship either goes neutral or mentioned for jokes only (7ACV14, 7ACV16, 7ACV23).

I would argue that the Fry/Leela relationship got more attention before they had them get together. Just look at season 4:

The Why of Fry
The Sting
The Farnsworth Parabox (not exactly a focal point of the episode, but its influence is still significant)
The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings

All within the last half of the season!

Yeah, not exactly too much appearance in episodes itself, but I meant the expectations of it and the attention it gets.

Beamer has it right. If anything, the Fry/Leela thing has been in the background enough that in recent seasons there's been fan debate about whether they're even together at times. I'm glad season seven has clarified it and brought them more to the forefront, but even still, it's not really even mentioned or dealt with in most episodes.

The only ones focusing too much on it are fans that only want "shippy" episodes and only discuss that part of the show, to the exclusion of any other aspects. The actual writers have avoided such a trap.

I will say though, after a number of Fry/Leela episodes over the years I was glad to see a few Fry/Bender episodes this season. Their friendship doesn't get enough play on the series, IMO.

Is weird, but I liked the attention that Fry/Leela got in season 4,was in fact natural because they weren't all the show, now kinda seems forced because, seem that they have to be forced to be together for please to the shippers only. The writters forget that not every Futurama fan is a Freela shipper  :nono:

Anyway I prefer their friendship in seasons 1 and 2,they showed the best about the character takin care of each other, instead to show Fry crying because Leela didn't want to take his hand (as in Farewell to Arms,a very good episode with a nice plot but personally I can't stand them in that one, also in Overclocwise)

And,I agree with DoTheBartman with Fry and Bender episodes, finally some episode that aren't about Bender only!

They didn't forget and they won't. That's why you still have plenty of non-shippy episodes this year. At least a fair amount of them.

I'm mostly OK with shippy episodes (definitely, I'm a shipper), but I think that the writers should play less on overly melodramatic aspects of the relationship. Fry's attempt of suicide in 6ACV25 is an example of such overplay.

I can't believe it.. it's 2013... and we are down to only 3 episodes left!

It's 2003 all over again!

Futurama needs to stay away from years that end in three.

Also 4 original production seasons, 4 dvd movies, 4 CC half seasons, 140 episodes.

It's all kinda weird, don't you guys think?

Makes sense. In Into the Wild Green Yonder, they even had to go as far as giving Leo Wong an extra finger, just to accomodate his gesturing about Bender's five kings! :p

*4 episodes were in the Monster Robot Maniac collection, although that technically is the same as the four original seasons notice.
*All of the fox era DVD sets had 4 discs in them, not including season 1.
*Most charcters have Four fingers (except for that mystical wizard Leo Wong)
*This is my 174th post (By far the most intriguing of all)
....and I'll probably find more as time goes on. I wonder if Meanwhile will make a plot point out of this?

No. It's not. You could choose any number (of two digits or less, of course) and still wind up with a seemingly significant list like this. Not to mention four is such a small number, it's almost inevitable.

And if they were doing it intentionally, they would've clued us in by now (ie. "the numbers" from Lost). Subtlety isn't exactly Futurama's strong suit.
