Today at work, I saw this lady get up from a table, and then I had a Bender moment. I sure was lucky nobody could read my thoughts on a cell phone.

"Wow, that lady's got a huge ass"

yesterday in my science class we were discussing cryogenics and all i could think about was futurama. of course, i'm too shy to say anything. then some bonehead yaps, "like in futurama!" then later we're talking about solutions to garbage, like taking it up to the moon, and once again another bonehead says "like on futurama too!"

Damn those non-OFGs!(Orginal Futurama gangstas)..Come to think of it, neither am I. But it's our show!  :hmpf:

Dammit! We liked Futurama when it was underground and cool, before any Johhny-science-shoes laid claim to it! I demand my right to quote the show incessently and confuse people!

Hang on... random school people are talking about Futurama? Ooo, stomach flutters...

Like that time in Journalism, when the Tute person gave us a hypothetical situation to write a story about. It also involved cryogenics. The person next to me leaned out and said: "Ever hear of Futurama? This reminds me of it..."

[freaksworth]Dude ... it's all our show.  It's like, all around us![/freaksworth]

Yesterday, I quit my piece of crap job ... and when I made the decision to do it, the first thing I thought of was Leela, when she quit her cryogenics councelling job in SP3K.  First reminder of Futurama that I've associated with lousy times, but it makes me feel a lot better.  Unfortunately, I don't have a dottering old relative to mooch off of.

Somehow I doubt the small amount of money I have will cover airfare to NY ... And you intrigue me ... what is that weekly mooching fee?  SHould I just use my imagination?  Is it even really a "fee" per se?

To avoid going too off topic here ... I'm watching a Best Of Jon Lovitz SNL, and they just played a sketch he did with Phil Hartmann a little while ago.  That of course reminded me of Zapp, and Futurama in general ... and made me a little sad.

And every time I see a preview for that stupid looking movie "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow", I can't help but think they swiped that famous line from Terry.

today at work my manager was doing the everyday mundane chore of counting change. But he insisted on whistling the globtrotter theme as he did it. It took everything i had not to laugh.

@Zoiberg227: Money troubles, eh? Maybe you should take a cue from your namesake and sample some fine dumpster cuisine. Or you could mooch off of me. I'm sure my five bucks, lint, coffee punch card, and ticket stub could sustain the two of us.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks of Terry during every Sky Captain preview. Maybe I'm not even the only one who accompanies these thoughts with a terrible impression.

Today I saw mass amounts of smoke coming out of a manhole. My first thought was, "Huh. I wonder what the mutants are up to." Then I saw a sign that said "Universal Paper Box" and started thinking about The Farnsworth Parabox.

At work last night I felt compelled to yell things in a very low voice to express frustration. Among two that popped up were "Quarters! A million allowances worth of quarters!" and "Bring me the lower horn!". However, the most common yell was a chanting boom of "MEAT!!!"

What would you like on your sandwich Kowalski?

I have a feeling they swiped a lot of stuff from Futurama.  "World of tomorrow?"  A one-eyed captain?  Puh-leaze.  Still that doesn't make it a ripoff unless we see it and prove it's one.

Oh, and this is EXTREMELY UBER-FREAKY.  In fifth grade (before Futurama aired), my teacher made us do this creative-writing assignment where we had to write and illustrate our own book.  Being a huge fan of science fiction even back then, I had started a bunch of stories, undecided over which one to do.  Last night, I came across a notebook with a couple of the unfinished stories in it, and I read over them.  This is the freaky part: In one of the stories I never finished, there's a list of city names, and one of the city names was... ZAPP!     I AM NOT KIDDING!  (Need proof?  Ask ELF; she's my sister and she saw it.  I could even scan it and show you!)

You're not the only one.  This I know from personal experience [bender]wink wink[/bender].

@Athena: No kidding.  I realized that the other day (at my former place of employment) when the preview was playing for the umpteenth time on the gigantic TV there.  I thought ... they are so totally ripping off Futurama ... "World of tomorrow"?  A cycloptic captain (though for other reasons)?  Is there some sort of smart professor-like person there too, who's maybe a bit batty?

Originally I planned on not seeing this, but I might, to make the comparisons.  Besides, the cinematography looks alright, and Futurama (more accurately, the fans who originally said Futurama looks stupid or didn't like it at first) did teach me to give things I thought looked stupid a chance.

For some reason, a friend and I were disscusing Halloween costumes.
"Oh! We could be random characters!"
"Yeah! That sounds good!"
"I'll be Jenny McNeil! Or better yet, Leela!"
"Ooh!"
"Or a female Fry..."
"Random, but still good!"
"Or YOU could be Jenny, and I'll be Leela dressed as Jenny"
"Cool!"
"I'll even glue a wiggly eye to my face..."

If I ever start a pizzaria, I'll name it that just for you, Barbados.

@TL: That's like triply-Futurama remindy - a ship that resembles the P.E. ship, the fact that it's a pizza place, and the name (since the P.E. ship is always crash landing somewhere).  Does Stephen Hawking eat there too?  Oh, and you should place a (valid, of course) order for a pizza under the name "I period C period Wiener".

Maybe getting a little off the pizza thing here, or not, but I digress.

I live in Jersey. That should be enough.

And whenever I'm in Brooklyn, or in the city. Or in Jersey. Wow... I must be obsessed.

Those Jersey jokes never cease to amuse me...

"The dumps were full! Jersey was full!"

"Great apartment! What's the catch?"
"It's in Jersey."

And maybe it's my 20/200 vision topped with my intermittent refusal to wear glasses, but I could've sworn I saw a sign with "Hoboken" written on it during Luck of the Fryish. Am I mad? Am I blind?
