Cat? Heck, I'm thinking of naming my kids after Futurama characters. Not the strange names, though; I would be the only one who would see their name and think, "Oh, like Futurama." Nobody else would realise my obsession.

I just saw an episode of Kim Possible, Emotion Sickness.  It featured Kim kissing Ron on the lips.  She was at the mercy of weird science experiment, involving microchips.

An tough ass kicking girl interested in a clumsy, slow-minded guy. This reminds me of Fry/Leela's relationship.

Kim wears a dress shorter than the dress she wore on the date with Josh when she "goes out" with Ron.

Ron obviously has thought about he and Kim in a non-plationic "relationship".  Sounds familiar

Kim's parents obviously support Kim and Ron's relationship. Kim's dad seems a little concerned, but in a previous episode, he said that Kim was not allowed to date, yet here, he allows her little girl and her best friend go out. He even puts Ron's jaw back into place after he sees Kim.

This scene reminds me of Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles, where teenager Fry picks up teenager Leela from her parents' house.

I was watching Banzai (a spoof on Japanese game shows) on Comedy Central, and one of the "contestants" was called "Mr. Hugh", and the host referred to him as "Hugh-man", which of course reminded me of the Decapodian that stole the Nimbus' launch codes in TDTESS "A Taste of Freedom".

EDIT: Apparently my mind transposed "A Taste of Freedom" into being abbreviated with TDTESS.  :hmpf:  I have no idea what I was thinking, but thank you, Lampy.

Wow ... that was a lot less exciting than I had expected.

The theme song to the original Japanese version of Dragon Ball GT reminds of Fry and Leela, here are the lyrics from http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/%7Evegex/multimedia/lyrics/jap-dan_dan.html  :

Bit by bit, you’re charming my heart
With that dazzling smile.
Let’s fly away from this endless darkness. Hold my hand.

When I first met you,
I remembered a place that I held dear when I was a child.
Won’t you dance with me?
On this winding road of light and shadow, are you still lost on him?
There were just a few times where it seemed like I wanted to turn back,
But holding on to love, courage, and pride, I’ll fight on!

Bit by bit, you’re charming my heart,
A fragment of the hopes of this world.
Surely, everyone wants to obtain eternity.
Even though I pretend I don’t care at all,
Hey, I’m in love with you!
Let’s fly away from this endless darkness. Hold your hand.

Whether your expression is tired or angry, I still like you,
But I wonder if it’s all right to try so hard in life like that.
As for me...I’m tossed about by your casual gestures in the seaside blue.
But evevn so, are you lost on him?
I had something more that I wanted to ask, but
Our talk is interrupted by the sound of cars, and wafts into the street.

Bit by bit, you’re charming my heart,
And though it’s somehow strange, even to me,
There’s something there that makes me want to call you right away.
Even though I pretend I have no feelings at all,
In the end, the only thing I’ve seen is you.
Let’s fly away toward the sea! Hold my hand.

John Dimaggio provides the voice of Juggernaut in X-Men Legends.

He uses the same exact voice as the guy in Roswell That Ends Well - "General, in all my years of covering top secret discoveries with sheets, I've never dramatically revealed anything as shocking as this! Da, da daaaaa! The debris from an alien space ship."

Whenever my other half starts to mess up the house, I will grouch at him and said ‘Stop messing the house, you're turning into fry!’ Then he would say, ‘What?’  I then say, ‘Fry is a character of this cartoon I watch.’  :laff:

Sometimes I have what I call "Fry moments". Example: One time my teacher asked me to pass back test papers to the class. I asked where they were and the teacher pointed right in front of me but I didn't see them, just like Fry in "Where the Buggalo Roam" :hmpf:

About two years ago, at the time I was doing my community service in a hospital, there was this one patient, an average guy in his late thirties I'd say, who strongly reminded me of Gunther in the mars university episode. Part of my job was to prepare patients for surgery. I gave this guy a green hood to cover his hair, now guess what he did? - He tried to wear it on his butt!  :laff: Most likely the reason why he did that, was that he was embarassed because he was lying completely naked on the operation table, only covered by a thin blanket. But damn was that funny. Me and a nurse laughed so hard, that they paued an operation (nothing serious) in the neighbouring operating room to come and look what was going on.

Luckily the tranquilization pill he had gotten earlier had a heavy effect on him, so that he didn't really notice or care what was happening.

(should I have put this in the 'work antics' thread? mnah)

I was watching TV, when a Colgate commercial comes on and on the bottom right hand corner of the screen it said the name of the actor. The name? Emily Proctor.

I was in the car when we stoped at a traffic light. I looked at the car in fron of us and it was a Honda Pilot. It instently reminded me of SP300.

^Written and directed by James L. Brooks. Perhaps this was a very early credit to Groening's Simpsonian partner in crime?
Or am I reading far too much into the meaning of "Spanglish?"

I was at the local Win Dixie getting icecream (i had a craving) and that song from BBA came on. You know that song that was playing as Zapp and Kif walked the streets? That one. So i'm standing in the icecream isle trying to hide the ridiculous grin that keeps trying to spread across my face. the people around me must have thought i was schizo.

We were reading stories about Hercules in world history, and the name Hermes came up several times. Also, I was watching Jeopardy today and there was a question about Philo T. Farnsworth.

They played the song from AOI II, Bender's story, in Shoprite one time. That damn silly song had me cracking up like a complete moron.  :p

Only 55 guineas!

Just about everything elicits a connection to Futurama in my mind.  Yesterday, I heard the song "Lola".  Of course, my brain jumps to Zapp shouting, "Leela! L-E-E-L-A, Leela!"  My boyfriend then did an impeccable imitation of the whole scene.  :D

There's a freshman in the play who acts EXACTLY like Zapp Brannigan.  He's even fat like him, and he hits on EVERYONE.  There's a senior who acts like the Zapper, but only to a lesser degree.  He looks like the Zapper, (really tall with a gut), but he doesn't sound a thing like him.

Play practice is full of Futurama-related stuff.  I'll tell you later-- I have to finish a paper for AP American Lit.
