I'm debating whether this will likely be a rare item which goes up in value in the future or not...
Yes, it will. That's my guess anyhow. The bigger sized items like that almost always increase in value among comic memorabilia...at least that's what I noticed. Also the whole story behind this guy and how long it has taken for him to actually be made...my money's on it will skyrocket in value. And it's not a common.

I wasn't that excited by the past photos of destructor but I think it looks awesome in the latest pic! I was going to wait to see if there was a special set with gender bender as well but it look's like it's just one version. I noticed people have been posting on the toynami Facebook page saying they've received it and the box says 1 of 1000, so I guess it's one limited run? Anyway just ordered mine, like TheAnvil says hopefully supporting this will give them some reason/money to finance more figures. Hopefully it'll be available to the suppliers in the next week or 2 and looking forward to getting mine!

If it's numbered I better get in there quick! Where is best to place to buy this from for UK buyers? Forbidden Planet have it listed at £49.99. Reasonable price or not? Also they say the ship date is 31st March (given that this is for UK)...

Thanx for the heads up, I have just pre-ordered it from Play given that it has free postage. I was a little reluctant given the price, but at the end of the day it's Futurama and it supports the show and possible future models (plus it's likely to increase in value). Also, the model is pretty damn cloolsome, so I look forward to when it arrives!...

Holy Cow! I can't believe it is out.
I was looking at the Bender Tineez exclusive figure on eBay and the price has decreased significantly since it was originally released. I saw a figure for buy-it-now at $28 and one with bidding starting at $19. When they originally came out the lowest price I could find was $45. (I am in Canada as well, US ebay may have had cheaper options.)
I think bender is a way bigger draw as even non-collectors want his figures. Although the Tineez did have a very different look. But Destructor is not a big draw even for Futurama fans. I think mostly the Toynami line collectors are interested and prices will drop soon.
Also, I am holding out hope for the Destructor with Gender Bender set....

Play.com always push back the release date, you won't see it for months. They have done it with every single futurama item i have ordered. I'm not bothered as long as i get it eventually
I pre ordered mine months ago so i should be guranteed it.

man, i just dont think im willing to spend $60 + shipping (another $10)... I guess being late to the game and having to pay around $140 for Zoidberg doesn't make $70 seem all that bad. Plus it's cheaper than the $150 Destructor is going for on ebay!

I would pay good money for a Scruffy..
Hello everyone, first post on here. I just recently started collecting the Futurama Toynami Figures and it has been a complete joy so far. I do have a question for this forum since this since to be the place to ask about these Figures.
Anyone know of the best stands to purchase for the Figures, since some of them do not like to stand up on their own?
Thanks for any feedback

I don't have any stands, I just placed mine in a cabinet and had to be creative with gravity to allow them to stand, like placing the ones that have trouble balancing neatly resting near the back or interacting two characters to support each other, like positioning Kif with his arms around Amy.
How will you display them exactly? I'm guessing somewhere open since you need the stands.

Yeah, I agree. Amazon had the Sold Out Futurama 2012 calendar on their site for a while even though it was obvious they were not going to get it back in. If the site is waiting for a reorder, then I don't mind if it says SOLD OUT on their page. If it is obvious to them that they won't ever get it back in, then they should remove it from their page. It's only common courtesy.

I have it all drawn out, but its alot of work just for a one off haha Anyways, heres my personal email if any of you guys have any ideas? the_engineer55@yahoo.com Thanks as always, -Otto

As for the custom figure thing, the offer is very generous, however using a Futurama character is surely a legal problem? They would need to gain revenue from such a figure somehow, so how would that work?... I would love to see a Scruffy, Hyperchicken, Cubert, Fnog, and a Buggalo... so the only differences in the SDCC destructor and the delux destructor are the color of the spikes, correct?
That's a pretty stupid reason for the price between the two to be so drastically different, but then again when have collectable figures ever had logic and normality attached to their values? I wonder how many of these new Destructor's will get made? Will it be to supply demand, or is there a strict quota?...

Hi guys, thanks for the interest. Yeah I couldnt do a lot before getting into legal trouble. One would be considered fan art, but 2, 3, 50,000 haha I dont know. I think instead of taking an individual request, I'll just read what you guys are suggesting and work on a fan piece. I'll be sure to keep all of you updated. As for the sculpture, I use Magic Sculpt and Wax for the fleshy forms. So obviously you wouldnt want to paint a wax so a mold is made and a copy is cast in hard urethane plastic for final paintup and stuff. -Otto

I'd possibly be interested in doing my avatar as a mold...that's more fan-sy art right? Oh and thanks for the info nacirema.
