PEE Poll: What do you think of Toynami?
I love them and collect them all.
I really like them and have some.
I like them, but I don't have any.
I don't really care for them.
I'm just here for the free food.

What's the difference between the Robot Santa SDCC exclusive and the Build a Bot Santa? I only have the Build a Bot version, but from the photos I don't know if it would be worth it to shell out the 60 or so dollars just to get Santa Bender.

The thing i really hate about the Santa + Xmas Bender pack is there is no window in the box.

Although the Destructor box is crap at least you can see whats inside without opening it... hopefully!

Anyway hope you got a good deal TheAnvil, not often you see it up for grabs.  :hmpf:

Oh, and Futurefreak. The differences are the Build-a-Bot Robot Santa has a spikey 'pom pom' and a  bit of a gun going on in his hand with the Amy figure.

The figure in the boxset is just plain old Robot Santa.

So i suppose the build a bot is better but where else can you get a Santa Bender from?!?

Some thing like this Otis?

That was the general idea, yes...

As for the Robot Santa figure, I have the Robot Santa/Santa Bender set. The plus side is not having to build him, he's already done. Maybe that makes him stronger? I don't know. He looks awesome anyways, and Santa Bender makes a neat sidekick addition...

If i remember this right they made the box set first knowing Robot Santa was going to be the next BAF and putting Santa Bender with him to make it an exclusive set.

However Robot Santa was slated for his pom pom not being like it is in the show and for not having any accessories. Like the machine gun.

Think they rectified this with the BAF parts making him a varient in the process of doing so

That's unfortunate that they never made a different figure to be SDCC exclusive with Santa Bender, like Chanukah Zombie or KwanzaaBot.

My brother's going to be buying the Robot Santa off of me as I have no need for two. When it's said and done, I'll have payed about £25 for the Santa Bender figure. So I can't grumble at that concidering it's the last one I needed to complete my collection.

Hi guys, I've finally joined the forum after ages just visiting so wanted to post and introduce myself!

I've loved futurama since it was originally on the air, I've always had a thing for collecting but somehow missed the toynami Futurama figures completely (and regret not being able to get some at the start for the original prices.. especially with the lack of new releases lately)

I've been keeping an eye out for any decent deals on the figures to start off my collection and last month came across an awesome deal..

Basically I managed to get:
Alternate Universe Blue Zoidberg (Mint/Sealed)
Original Zoidberg (Boxed)
Original Fry (Boxed)
Leela (Boxed)
& Zapp (Boxed)

All for $100 + shipping! I couldn't believe how great a deal it was.

I just picked up the original professor, Amy and Hermes to add to these. I don't want to get every figure (well i say that now..) just the original crew and some of the special editions, and definitely the Robot Mafia if they get released. If anyone sees an original Bender up for sale or has a spare i'd definitely be interested.

Hopefully I can post some photos once I have a space setup for them. Some of the photos of collections in this and the past 2 threads are really awesome.

Wow, how did you get original Fry, Zoidberg, and blue Zoidberg for that price?? Was it e-bay or something else if you don't mind me asking?

Good deal, I had a similar deal for the original 6 figures, and the two exclusive Zoidys.

Welcome to the world of tomorrow forums!

Haha, cheers for the welcome guys!

Yeah they were from ebay, I have to admit I did feel a bit bad for the guy selling them after I bought them, but if I didn't someone else would have right? I guess he hadn't checked to see what they were selling for..

Basically I saw he had the blue Zoidberg on there for $75 buy it now which is a really good price anyway judging from the other listings.

I was really happy with just the Zoidberg as I want to get all 3, but I noticed he had another lot with just a photo of zapp called Futurama figures on there. So I took a look at it and it was the original zapp, fry, leela and zoidberg, all for $25 buy it now! Couldn't believe it!

I'm based in the UK so took a week to get here, plus a small customs charge but it still worked out at probably the same price as I would pay for one zoidberg!

Unfortunately there's no space to display them anywhere in our current flat but hopefully when we get a bigger place I can put them up somewhere.

No I don't mind you asking, erm I think the postage was around $50 for insured delivery. Seems a lot but I guess it was for 5 figures and their boxes are fairly big. So I paid about £100 for all 5 which I'm really happy with.

Keep 'em sealed! They look great in the box.
On the other hand open them and you enjoy them more.
I check eBay every few days and have never, ever seen such a great deal and am sure you are the envy of a lot of Peelers!

Personally i have kind of given up on the line. Over a year of waiting for figures which were promised a long, long time ago.

Then along comes Destructor. For 50 quid! If Morbo and Lrrr ever come to be released i would expect them to have the same RRP.

As much as i love these figures i am not sure if i will be able to keep collecting them at these prices although they are worth it.

Have decided to put Zoidy and the first Fry on eBay which i bought when they were first released.

I would love to keep them but if i can't complete the collection i would rather someone else who appreciates them did.  :hmpf:

50 quid? Nah, I can't see Morbo and Lrr costing anythin like that.

I'd be surprised if they were more than $25, maybe even closer to $20.

Anyone have any idea what price range Toynami is targetting?

Morbo and Lrrr should be about $15 each. They're being sold to retailers at something like $10.50 each.

Destructor is an exclusive, not a retail figure so it's more expensive. And it's a giant figure so yeah. I can't wait.

Here's some things that may be of interest; Big Bad Toystore now lists the Nibbler and Bender hats for 2nd Quarter 2012 at $15 each. Entertainment Earth lists Encore Series 2 Fry and Farnsworth, Tineez Wave 2 and Talking Robot Devil for September. None of these include pictures. There's also something else that deserves its own thread...

I ended up opening them as I plan to display them outside of the boxes anyway. (But will definitely keep all the boxes!)

Thanks guys, I think I've just picked up another fairly decent deal, although not quite as good for a few more figures. I'll post once it's all gone through :)

Really want to get Morbo so hoping he's a descent price when he's finally released!

Hi,

I want to get the encore edition Fry but I wonder why you can get die encore Bender everywhere but Fry almost nowhere. As far as I know Toynami released both figures as encore versions some time ago.
And I wonder why they announced to release the series 2 encore figures including the professor and Fry (again!).

So will they bring out Fry two times without the build-a-bot part? Why?
Does anybody here already have the older encore version of Fry?

For the Bender version, I know that they changed some replacement eyes. Did they change anything special for Fry too?

Hi there, welcome to PEEL!

This fits better in the Toynami thread, so I am going to merge it there. I have the original version of Fry, and I know a few others do too. Many of these figures pop up on the bay so you want to try there. Also in the "For Sale" thread someone here in the UK put up their original Fry for auction.

I don't have the encore edition of Fry but I see those encore editions everywhere of misc. characters (I think I've seen Fry in a comic shop before)...may wanna ask the other people here, they will probably know a bit more. I see Encore Bender all the time at Toys 'r Us.

They are rereleasing the S1 Fry (for the second time) without the build a bot piece in a few months. There was no Fry in series 2?

Some of the encore Fry figures were made with a different coloured box to the rest.

The reason they do it is because it's cheap to do, and they're gauranteed to sell a lot of Fry figures.

Just got a few figures in the post - Original Professor, Hermes and Amy, so just need to get Bender and that's the whole P.E. crew!

Here's a heads up for anyone looking for the alternate universe Fry and Leela, there's a seller with some on the UK amazon for £20 (with free shipping!) that have been listed today..

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alternate-Universe-Fry-Leela-Figures/dp/B002L6DO8G/

I was annoyed I didn't get them when they were going for £30 before they went out of stock, but am glad I waited now!

when you say 'original' professor, does that mean the reissues going to be different?

personally i initially though the whole fry and bender without the BAF part was a joke. but then i learned (thanks be to sculptboy) that the zoidberg mold had been misplaced so that changed my mind on it being a joke. but releasing a second fry when you've already reissued him once, and not changing something...be it the accessories, clothes, facial expresion, etc is a horrible idea. i understand bender and fry will always be the best sellers, as the should be, but to reissue a figure without changing somethings a waste of time that could be spent for new figs.

i'm not a huge fan of fact theres so many benders, but atleast they're different. when they released the most recent bender..basicaly same figure as the original and reissue, they used new eyes. that's a plus right there.

tho i couldn't really think of that many accessories that're small enough to fit ina blister for the professor. a 'what if' machine would be icing on the cake tho..then maybe just maybe they could make a scale smell-o-scope..or ever better, with the recent huge destructor figure, they could make a pazuzu. sh!t....i'd buy two of those, :laff:.

oh...and this wait is getting ridiculous toynami.

i know you're watching..:O_o:.

[edit]
forgot to mention, has anyone mentioned that the talking robot devil is going to have interchangable eyes? that's effing awesome, so more reason to get him.

I got loads of mine for free using this site;

http://www.points2shop.com/?ref=ThisAnvil

I've been using this site now for about 15 months, and part of the reason I started buying Futurama figures is 'cause I knew I could get so many of them for free :p. Basically anything listed on amazon you can get on that site for free.

As for some new accessories for Professor, It'd be so cool if they changed it from Nibbler to Gunter.

As ottos really the only insider this is more of a question for him. since the original MAC leela came with the nibbler y'all use for the professor, does that mean toynami got all the original molds for the original four three figures (figers crossed) and the planet express ship? because if this is the case then can toynami make the litterbox nibbler originally came with?

secondly, leela was as articulated as fry but her hips hindered her from sranding without the alien base..maybe toynami could use a leela exclusive. one thats as articulated as the MAC one, but with a different hip placement and colors.

tho, i've always thought toynamis leela was colored differently. but i could be mistaken.

nacirema - I'm not too sure about those molds.  That was way before my time.  I know that the Golden Bender was the MAC bender because the Toynami Bender wasn't completed at that time.  So its possible they have the molds somewhere in China. Maybe Lo-Pan is guarding them?

Wayhaaaay! Looks awesome, lets hope this has lined Toynami's pockets so they can bring the line back to life.

Somehow it looks better than on the Comic Con pics. Maybe because we now know we can own one and after this, which WILL sell out more figures may follow?

This simply cannot be the end of the line. But if it is looks like it has ended on a high. Otto?!?
