PEE Poll: What do you think of Toynami?
I love them and collect them all.
I really like them and have some.
I like them, but I don't have any.
I don't really care for them.
I'm just here for the free food.

Really? I got to my local book store and they have them all the time... well by that I mean most times they have something Futurama in stock.

Edit: TotPD. I'm on a roll with these.

I live in Adelaide, which is the capital of South Australia. And I've never seen any Futurama merchandise anywhere. That's what I get for living in Australia's most insignificant city. :(

Hmm, I dunno... Gender Bender sells for cheap a lot of the time and in the DVD commentaries Groening commented as you had, predicting it would become a collectible highly sought after. Maybe I just saw some great deals the day I randomly surfed eBay, but GB is relatively affordable. I do think Destructor has a bit more appeal than Gender Bender does to say the least and if people cancel their pre-orders or give up on waiting, then yeah, it'll be valuable. It'll be interesting to watch the market if these things ever get shipped out.

Gender Bender is really cheap on eBay...I'm only seeing it for between 10 and 30 dollars, and I think I paid 20-25 for mine in a toy store a few years back.

The original Zoidberg figure is the one that became ridiculous. Really didn't see that one coming. Cost me $125 years later because I needed to complete my Robot Devil

Wow, that's dedication, Randi! I'm impressed! Ironic that the poorest character costs the most! :laff:...

As for Gender Bender, I guess as pointed out it’s not so popular. I haven't yet felt the urge to buy one, for example...

I'm so lucky I found that lot of futurama figs, I only got them about 6 months ago and the three zoidbergs and series 3 bender cost me around £15 each :p. It was a bundle of the first 6 figures and the two exclusive zoidbergs.

More like penultimate poorest character if you factor in Gender Bender. But who's gonna be that particular?  ;)

More Encore figures on the way! Fry is getting a re issue... again. But Farnsie is also being released without Roberto parts. Good news everyone indeed but i think this totally puts to rest any hope of a Zoidberg re-release.

Golly.  Not sure how well that will go.  Honestly, my local TRU still has about 5 Benders hanging around.  And that's BENDER!!  BENDER!!  If he's hanging around the shelves, who stands a chance?!

You can pre-order the Destructor figure for £49.99 at Forbidden Planet UK. Due out on the 31st March. Here.

Notice the title says (Large), suggesting smaller versions may be produced in the future?

i'm really not diggin the packaging. it's nothing like the others, it reminds me of the glorious golden bender.

tho i will not pre-order it, it'll wait until someone puts the SDCC exclusive on eBay before i get it. i'd rather have the gender bender than just destructor.

Forbidden Planet with the info:- http://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1566_5104&products_id=68970

Also i think we all listened to Otto with a great deal of respect and thank him for the information he shared.

However you have to think what would be more profitable for Toynami.

Re making the Zoidberg molds would cost them but they would be sure to make the money back.

Just to say something has been lost does not mean it is the end, if they lost the molds for Bender do you think that would mean no more variations?

I think that's just 'cause he's way bigger than the past ones. That site says 12 Inches, which is a foot or about 30cm, double a normal figure.

That is the SDCC version. The non-SDCC version has gender bender and the release is unannounced.

Well, it's ToyFair 2012  from the 12th to 15th. I'm not expecting anything new given nothing new came out since the last one. They might have some more tentative dates or improved models/accessories though...

great to finally see some pics!
my thoughts:
2 foot tall Bender, eh?
Definitely getting the plush Hypno Toad.
initial reaction to the Tineez was, Awesome! then after thinking about it, they are just repaints from the first series. lame :/
a new Robot Devil figure??? :D this one's even better than the build-a-bot version. now we just need a new Zoidy!

MAIN LINE
Morbo and Lrrr are now re-re-reclassified as Vinyl instead of deluxe instead of wave 10 instead of a build a figure or wave 6 respectively.
Destructor/Gender Bender haven't got a visible label.
Professor/Fry Encore - looks like it may include Roberto legs?
The Mafia and Flexo are missing or not pictured.

PLUSH
Wave 2 is still pending approval, they've all been improved. Especially Fry, who has been replaced with Morbo.

TINEEZ
Wave 2 is revealed. Universe 1 Zoidberg, Bee Bender and Robot Devil with violin (aka repaints)

TALKERS
Robot Devil is now the size of the normal ones I think, and is on a stand that does the talking. He'll make a good substitute for the build a bot.

HATS (new)
Bender and Nibbler heads, look okay I guess. No Brain Slug means I'm not interested.

SHOGUN WARRIORS (new)
Two foot tall Bender that has projectile fists.
Animé style Bender; apparently this one is a model for a possible future shogun, which explains the lack of paint

I'm not sure we've seen the entire display in these pictures, but the sculpts, knits and anything else looks good.

That Robot Devil looks huge, I don't think it's the same size as the normal line.

Edit: I'm concerned that there are no mafia or flexo, and still no date for the Gender Bender/Destructor and Deluxe Vinyl frown.

Please use the "edit" button if you think of something else to say, instead of creating a second post 3 minutes later. Love, TMC.

well, even if the Robot Devil isnt a proper figure for the line, it will be a very acceptable replacement for those of us who arent willing to shell out >$500 for the missing build-a-bot parts.
