I'm hoping Season 16 is on par with the second half of 15. :D The Poor Kid was an awesome episode. :3

South Park's in a really weird place now. Most shows go up, peak and then they go down. South Park went up, peaked, went down, went up, went down and seems to be going up again.

But yes, the 2nd half of season 15 was pretty good so I hope 16 continues the quality. It ought to seeing as they've got less work to do with The Book of Mormon now.

South Park went up, peaked, went down, went up, went down and seems to be going up again.

Could you list that next to the seasons they correspond with?

Let's see.

Season 1 was a decent start to the show, but it got steadily better until season 8 which was the peak. Then it went downhill until season 12 which was the show's lowest point to date. Then up again with season 13 being better and season 14 being even better than that. Then the first half of 15 was a bit of a step down again, but the second half of 15 seemed to be pulling it back up again.

Yeah, I love season 10. Just because I say the show went downhill after season 8 doesn't mean that 9, 10 and 11 weren't great - it just means that they weren't as consistently as mind-blowing as season 8.
Season 10 was when the show started to get quite hit and miss if you ask me. Some of the episodes were incredible whereas others ("A Million Little Fibers", "Stanley's Cup") were not. But that said, my two favourite episodes are from season 10 ("Cartoon Wars", parts 1 and 2).

And then season 11 was even more hit and miss with episodes like "Night of the Living Homeless" and the "Imaginationland" trilogy being outstanding, but a lot of the episodes being fairly average.

And then there wasn't a single episode in 12 that was really great. The best one was probably "Over Logging" but that felt like a wasted opportunity.

I think the writers should stop doing the episodes in a week as they end up getting stressed out by day 5 or 6, and IMO that effects the episode in so many ways because they don't have the proper amount of time to write the episodes.

I really don't understand what everyone's obsession with "Major Boobage" is. Yes, it has hand-drawn animation and it's an homage to an obscure film that most of the fans probably haven't even seen.

But I mean... the story isn't that great and it's not all that funny. I don't dislike it - there isn't a South Park episode that I don't like in existence yet - I just don't like it as much as the vast majority of episodes.

In season 12, I would consider the Pandemics and Elementary School Musical "great" episodes.

Tonsil Trouble, The China Probrem, and The Ungroundable are other favorites.

And though it doesn't have much rewatch value I find, About Last Night was hilarious when it aired due to the circumstances.

I don't think I would agree with 12 as the low point...if I had to choose a low point I would probably say 14 and 15 (with 15 being slightly better). Even though I still greatly enjoyed both seasons.

Yup, tonight at 10pm on Comedy Central in the US.

And as I predicted, Season 16 starts with a double bill of Reverse Cowgirl and S16E02 on the 23rd March on CC in the UK, 10pm to 11pm.

Oh man, I'm excited! I forgot how much I loved South Park! :) I now see that I'll have to use spoilers when talking about the episode. I saw the preview though, and it was pretty funny. Randy got a ticket for not wearing a seat belt on the toilet, who knows what crazy events caused this? :laff: Still, I'm looking forward to it! :D

Once a new episode has aired, you don't have to put anything in spoilers in order to talk about it. Spoilers are only required for content from episodes that have not yet aired.

Like this:

There's no way you weren't that self-contradictory on purpose. Fucking asshole fake account. Go jump in a blender.

Not starting this shit again, but if that's considered a spoiler, then

Seriously, SGB is just talking about a 35 second long preview clip from South Park Studios. :nono:

Even with the clip and the plot synopsis, it's still pretty hard to work out what the plot could be about. I mean we have a basic idea,

but that is certainly not enough to ruin the entire episode. It may not even be right.

Clearly you are starting this shit again by arguing with it.

We've clearly established that ANYTHING regarding content from episodes that haven't aired at all yet belongs in spoilers. Doesn't matter if it's a reference to a tiny preview or not, and it doesn't matter how much you personally think it will "ruin" the episode for anyone. We already know you disagree with that rule, but that's the way it is (and you've followed it pretty damn well recently), so just swallow it.

To be fair though, I wouldn't have called Solid Gold Bender out on such a small break of that rule had he not mentioned the need to use spoilers for the wrong reasons in the same exact post. Because of that, though, it was just so stupid I felt the need to point it out.

So even if I say the plot of the episode is it's a spoiler?

Or is this just some training course for how the Internet will be if SOPA or PIPA take over? Censoring everything?

Pr suy if ysk me.

I assume your use of capitalization means you're very serious about this part of the argument.

Also, it's not censorship if the only thing you have to do to see the text is click your mouse one time.

But it is annoying. Like SOPA and PIPA.

That's totally right...the only reason anybody opposed SOPA and PIPA was because they're "annoying." I guess it makes sense that so many PEELers oppose you, then.

If you really find clicking on spoiler tags to view text that bothersome...I feel sorry for you. Your life must be very stressful.

I said "ANYTHING regarding content." As in anything that details something that happens in the episode. Using random adjectives by themselves that don't reflect anything specific about what happens in the episode clearly isn't included in that. That was pretty easy to decipher from what I had just said, but for some reason you seem to enjoy taking things out of context and intentionally misunderstanding things that are entirely obvious.

Do you really not see why certain people reacted the way they did to you winning POTM? You're a moron. Or at least purposely make yourself seem like one when you should know better.

I mean if something like SOPA or PIPA were to happen and we had to do that shit ALL the time.

In the worst-case-scenario that a bill like SOPA could present, spoiler tags would have nothing to do with it. If [-mArc-] was told by his ISP that nobody on the forum could say or talk about or link to something in particular, he would have to go around deleting or editing any posts that did lest his website be taken down. That's actual censorship, and would be far more than just annoying...that is if you even consider having to click your mouse once to see something annoying in the first place. It's the difference between content being allowed to exist or not allowed to exist at all.

Even if a bill like SOPA did pass though, that would be extremely unlikely. It would be much more likely to affect sites with media content (audio or video) that could be accused of using copyrighted material. So it makes even less sense to bring it up in this context.

Edit: I realize it doesn't change the fact that I said it in the first place, but looking back at this I still want to apologize for some of the comments I made above, specifically about you being a moron and people here not liking you. I'm noticing I've been fairly snappy recently, and I'm letting myself get too heated in debate and saying things on impulse that I regret later. Maybe it's my time of the month. I don't think you're a moron. I also think you deserved to win POTM last month, or else you wouldn't have won. I totally disagree with you about this spoiler thing to the point of getting a bit frustrated (which shouldn't happen), but you're young and I accept that I didn't understand certain things (if anything, I was stupider) at that age too. It certainly doesn't help my point to be an asshole to you, especially when I'm advocating a rule that is all about respecting other PEELers. So again, I'm sorry.

It wasn't just a poor season opener, it was an all-round not-that-good episode.

I'm with tofu_lion, their more bizarre plots usually have me in stitches, but this was just stupid... the bad kind.

But I have a feeling this season will be a good one, there's so much going on at the moment which you just KNOW they can't wait to make an episode out of (as obvious and eye-roll worthy as the idea of a KONY 2012 ep is, if anyone can or would do it, it's M&T, and in their hands it has potential to be pretty goddamn funny).

On a second viewing I do see the glimmers of brilliance in it, but I guess it's just not up my alley... not the humor, it just didn't come together for me.
