I thought the episode was okay, it felt like it should've been like episode 2 or 3 in this season.  Usually the first episode of the season tackles a much more current issue.

A lot of people are hoping for a parody on this whole Kony 2012 issue.

I can really see what Kony would look like as a SouthPark Avatar. :laff:

Some people haven't seen it yet...

Then don't come in the thread. You know the episode has aired, if you haven't seen it yet, wait until you do. These threads are specifically for discussing episodes of their respective shows that have aired, it's only logical to expect spoilers.

I get the feeling you're just trying to bait people like me with feigned ignorance (especially since I just explained this concept to you on the last page). Well done, sir.

Just finished watching it on South Park Studios and it was just meh.
Not the worst episode and definitely not the best

Great ending to the episode, and the plot covered several issues both serious and day-to-day with some great jokes, classic South park

Ugly Americans after was even better

Does the title actually have anything to do with the episode?

Yes, it refers to the way Butters (and everyone else at the end of the episode, after they're told to by the inventor) sit on the toilet. If you're familiar with the sexual position, you'll understand.

South Park's season premieres tend to be among their weaker episodes so I was quite happy with this one. It was certainly much better than "HumancentiPad" and "Sexual Healing".

I agree, the season premieres have been pretty weak as of late. The Ring was the last season opener I remember really enjoying on the first watch.

Exactly the same with Sky+. Bizarre that they would do something like this.

The description is just horrible!

Clive's unwitting decision to leave the toiler seat up has dire consequences, involving healthy and safety issues, hand moisturiser and a few ghosts!

New ep.

Cash For Gold

Interesting... Could be pretty sucky, or super awesome if it's done right. I like the sound of the Stan B-plot. :D

I love when Cartman dresses up for things (his "artsy" slideshow for show and tell, his lice test in Licecapades, the AIDS episode, etc.). I'm looking forward to seeing if he digs into his wardrobe again for this episode. Maybe a business suit, sweater vest or button up shirt with loosened tie and rolled up sleeves.

This week's episode was really good. I loved all the shopping network scenes and I couldn't stop laughing at the last one with the old people calling up to tell the host to kill himself.

Edited for minor typo that I'm too picky to not remove.

I loved this episode. It was one of the better "Cartman starts a business" episodes... not as good as Fingerbang or Faith + 1, but better than Cartman Burger (let's just forget THAT ever happened).

It was pitched perfectly - not blown out to ridiculous proportions like it could have been (I think I'd still love it anyway), but just within the realm of reality so we could appreciate the humor of it more.

They hit the nail right on the head and I can't wait for next week.

A very solid episode, certainly. Got enough laughs from me to justify itself and had a decent, emotion-driven plot. Hardly their best work, but nothing to complain about either.

... damn you, josh, I just finished watching and you posted while I was writing my post. For some arbitrary reason this enrages me! Wait, there, it passed; calm again.

Really good episode, the bit where the sweat shop kid "recycled" the necklace after stan rejected it killed me, also as everyone's pointed out both stan's and the seniors' calling in to to demand the host kill himself. I was expecting something more cartman-centric, but it was pretty balanced.

I'm glad it wasn't so Cartman-centric. I thought it was a great episode for Stan. When he went off at the Indian children in the sweatshop for exploiting senior Americans I thought back to Tonsil Trouble when the man pulls up to an African village in his Range Rover saying "they have a cure for AIDS! You just have to inject yourself with all your cash!". I don't know why exactly, but yeah. That was a highlight of the episode for me. That, and... everything else!

All of Grandpa's lines also hit the ball. "That bowling is fucking gay as fuck." I think I broke my funny bone on that one. And of course there's every time he says "Billy". Cartman's moments were also comedy gold. His formula was genius and so was his fight with the asian ladies. :laff:

And the line "That'll cost you 2.7 million dollars" slayed me.

Awesome ep, the song was kind of annoying but the rest of it was pretty awesome. And Kenny had more than 1 line! :D

Also, I watched Reverse Cowgirl like 5 or 6 days ago and forgot to post my thoughts here, it was pretty "meh".

I agree with all the positive opinions on the latest episode. I think it will end up standing as perhaps one of the best of the season, though we are just a couple weeks in. I must admit, the little part about Stan's grandpa's dog tugged on my heartstrings a little, being the dog lover (and vagina) that I am. Overall, yet another smart and funny SP episode. Easily an 8/10, maybe a 9/10.

It's still way to generic to be a Hunger Games spoof/reference. I doubt it.

It's hardly "too generic" given that it's a one-line hint of the premise for a 22-minute episode of a TV show. It could easily evolve into being about anything and it's not as if South Park isn't prone to doing extremely topical stuff such as a parody of a film that only just came out.

True, but it's not just that it's too vague.
is distinctly different from the idea of a bunch of humans being put into a controlled battle royale against each other for the entertainment of the general population.

That said, the episode could still parody The Hunger Games. I just don't see any reason to believe it would from that chunk.

Very weird episode this week. I found it really funny once the cat stuff started and thought it was potentially going somewhere exciting but the ending left it as such a meaningless mish-mash of jokes that meant nothing, like they were just throwing shit at a wall and seeing what stuck. And just because they made a joke out of it all by lamp-shading the episode's meaningless at the end of it doesn't make it okay.

I suppose it was partly my fault for hoping for an epic battle between humans and lolcats but... meh. It's a shame because this could have been an episode I loved. Still, I enjoyed sitting through it the one time - I just won't be in a hurry to watch it again any time soon.

I too was surprised that it didn't really end up going anywhere but it had enough funny stupid things in it to make me enjoy it. It wasn't nearly as good or as hilarious as last week's episode but it was okay.
