This is really sad.  I met him a long time ago (mid 80's) at a party in LA.  Here's this Heavy Metal legend, who's fronted Rainbow, Black Sabbath & now his own group, Dio, being approached by a common fan.  He could have been dismissive to me (as some Rock Stars are when approached), but he was the nicest guy & spoke with me at length about his music & our common interest in Heavy Metal.  Heavy Metal, and society in general, has lost a true gentleman.  Sadness, pure sadness...

Yet another metal great - the number of relatively young metal musicians dropping dead for no readily apparent reason is making me both suspicious and sad.

Paul Gray of Slipknot was found dead this morning at the age of 38 :(

Also, RIP Dio :(

Not a slipknot fan, but it sucks when young musicians die.  RIP.

The only one who's still around is Willis (Todd Bridges), and he has survived drug addiction, a stint in jail and being arrested & prosecuted for murder in a crack house.  If any TV show is jinxed, it's that one...

Edit:  Dennis Hopper just died.  I don't think I can take another "summer of death" like last year's...

I just realized that Dan O'Bannon passed away back in Dec, that is sad.  I just finished watching the first Alien movie, which he wrote.  He also directed The Return of the Living Dead, another classic.

I met the man when I was at college at UCLA; a real sweetheart.  I had a pic taken of him & myself, and he autographed it; I had it framed & it's hanging on my wall.

He was well known for being in a number of Tim Burton films, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice and Planet of the Apes.

I recognize his voice from shows like The Batman and Justice League.
