What a shame. :( Her voice work in BWABB and King Of The Hill was superb, and she was a charming, adorable actress. Dying at age 32 is just plain wrong.

I expect cocaine to be the culprit here....

I've heard the rumors of her coke addiction for years.  Supposedly, she had to have Linda Rhonstat nasal surgery (to replace her septum which rotted due to so much coke).  Her husband, who reportedly is a con man & crook (who the US has already tried to deport back to England), and is supposedly mixed up in drugs as well, has adamantly opposed an autopsy for her, which is a HUGE red flag for law enforcement.  I suspect we'll find that she died of acute cocaine intoxication, which caused her heart attack.

I said that with 2 lines, but sure man. :)

Still a sad thing....cocaine unlike most other drugs is directly cardiotoxic, it kills your heart people. If someone here reads this and has done it before...don't make it a lifestyle....it's easy when you got loads of money.

I am a sad panda about Brittany Murphy. I always thought she was awesome ever since I saw Clueless when I was a kid and too young to understand half the 'adult themes' in the movie. This was the first thing my brain heard this morning when I turned on the radio. We were going to watch Clueless the other week for the memories, now I think I might cry if I watched it. Boo.

Why do young people keep dying? This seems a bit..weird. Some kid with the WA youth orchestra just died of a suspected drug overdose this weekend, he was only a year younger than me. I really do not understand how supposedly educated and talented people can do this to themselves. There really is no point in information and science and research if people can't be fucked to listen to it.

Brittany Murphy is dead? :(

Just like Maz, I first knew about her when I watched "Clueless".

I'm not going to delve into contributing factors, but I'm fairly confident drugs weren't necessarily the primary cause of death in that last one.

Why do young people keep dying?

There's two explanations for that really: God's a cunt or isn't there at all... Although if you want an answer to why young people keep killing themselves with drugs, it's because they're fucking stupid.

Not primary certainly, but possibly contributing

Ja, I was aware of the heroin in his system. It may have only been a matter of minutes, but it's safe to say the shotgun got to him before the drugs did - if we're being pedantic…

Was it in Family Guy, or the Cleveland Show? He went off and shot himself to avoid having to have sex with a disgusting drunk and flatulent Cortney Love.

I feel bad in a way because Brittany Murphy made a lot of movies that I really don't like. She's never been my favorite actress or anything but to see that she's dead is actually really disturbing to me. RIP, and my condolences to her family. You should never have to bury your own child.

Say what you want about Courtney Love but she and Kurt Cobain have always loved their daughter. And I would hate to be live in a world where my father killed himself and everyone ridiculed my mother.

Like some others here, my first exposure to her was Clueless. In fact that's probably the only movie I've 'seen' her in. I was astonished to find that she was the voice of Gloria in Happy Feet (i.e. I had no idea she could sing). Similarly I would never have guessed that the gravelly-voiced Colleen in BwaBB her either. Anyway, that's only 3 works in 15 years, so I can't really say she was in the forefront of my consciousness.

Still, as someone who's at least a decade older than she was, it always seems such a waste when young (i.e. younger than me) people die before their time.

I'm not Francis, though we are the same age. I'm just a big fan of her dad. And it's clips like that one from The Cleveland Show that piss me off for two reasons: 1. suicide is not something to joke about, it's just disrespectful. 2. Like I said no matter how much crap Courtney Love may get at least she has her daughter.

Sorry if I've taken this too personally, but I can sympathize with a family who's lost someone over suicide and having a single parent.

You may have to search really hard for him  but Vic Chesnutt passed away on Christmas day of a drug overdose. He was from Athens Ga and well respected by many around these parts. He was 45

No search needed at all. Here he is.

As someone who had at least a passing familiarity with Chris Knox's work I feel bad for not even knowing that he had a stroke, let alone that it was almost 7 months ago.

Brittany Murphy

To be honest I had no idea she was doing voice over for animation. I never matched the face to the voice. For real though, that's messed up 32. Did she do the voice for Luanne on king of the hill, I heard that some where.

yeah, aside from clueless, that's about the only role of hers I liked, I remember when 8 mile came out, Fox had a promo where Brittany Murphy was "guest starring" on an episode of King of the Hill, I thought that was both funny and stupid, having known all along she was a cast member.  Also, looking at her IMDB profile, I didn't really recognize any of the films she did post 2004, aide from her voicework

While Tsutomu Yamaguchi may not have been a celebrity in the technical sense, I thought his passing should be acknowledged.
