To be honest, that article just describes why you're the problem.  This is absolutely the norm.  Expecting radical change has never occurred through your right to vote.  That doesn't mean that voting isn't important.

The real problem is that so many people seem to think that things occurring on a national or international level are significantly affecting them.  If most people spent half the time they used for electing the president to understand the local politics in their home environment, the world would be a better place.  If you don't know where you live, how can you possibly be concerned with the problems concerning people thousands of miles away from you?

I don't bother with the music thread, and typically I keep out of the religious argument thread. Altogether different reasons for avoiding them though.
