What's the lamest line in futurama?

My vote goes either to

Fry: I wish they'd hurry up and destroy the world already!  It's the waiting I can't stand.
Leela: That's stupid.

or

Farnsworth: We still may have one propostorusly slim chance.
Amy: is it a kind of hairspray?

WHAT THE HELL?  So lame they're classic.

Zookeeper: More like super-zeroes!
Captain Yesterday: That was uncalled for.

I think that's the right line, anyhow it did crack me up, but looking back on it...

Most of the jokes in Less Than Hero were supposed to be like that, as they were making fun of the pathetic-ness of old superhero cartoons. However, here's a line from a Big Piece Of Garbage that is reeeeaaalllly lame, and not a little bit funny:
"Don't give up. There were plenty of times in the 20th century when I felt like giving up, but I never did. Are you even listening to me? Oh, I give up..."

That was the one I was thinking of! Let's see, any other lame ones that I can think of...not at the moment...but I may come back with one...

They made a lot of lame jokes in Spanish Fry
Leela: So Fry, it looks like you get to hold on to your lower horn.
Bender: As usual! WOOOO!

From Less then Hero, the "nine, ten, a big fat hen. The name's Bender!" line.  Just terrible.

More so, probably just about everything in "Three Hundred Big Boys", particularly Roseanne's cameo.

I never got the significance of the capers and baking soda line . . . but it wasn't necessarily bad.

Lots of people don't like capers, so they were considering the capers to be inedible.

Yep, I found the lamest one was the end of 300BB with Roseanne in the credits....

Smitty that was hilarious.... :laff:

I didn't like Leela in WTBR, saying "You don't have to laugh" in regards to the martians being tricked into selling the land/planet....whatever....Why was that supposed to be funny....?

Agreed. I mean, OF COURSE it's his damn camoflage reflex! What did she think it was, a ruler in his pocket?
Also agree with Beamer about Fry's line. I don't mind self-contradiction jokes if they're done well, but that one was delivered very poorly.  :nono:

As for me, a lot of people thought TLOTF was a brilliant episode but I actually thought it contained a shitload of lame dialogue. For example:

Bender: "Yep. Nothing there but all the best music of the 80s in one amazing collection."
Leela: "Survivor, Pat Benitar, The Scorpions - the list goes on!"

Maybe there was a before-my-time joke in there, but it just seemed a really useless and unnatural two lines to put in there. Anyone?

Yeah, I didn't like those LOTF ones either. I thought some of Amy's dialogue in Kif Gets Knocked Up a Knotch was inredibly lame ("Ohhh Kifeeeee!" ).

Theres one line from Less Than Hero that particuarly stands out as a bad line for me:

Leela's Dad: But we have special passes from the mayor that allow us to be here
Museum Guy: I don know, I've never heard of no mayor

  I hate that line.

At the end of less than hero
leela's mom: "and would it kill you to use a little mouthwash?"

mean and lame.

See, this is what happens when I stop watching TV.

A better example of a lamer line in that ep would be Fry's mother's line about his disappearance. "I'll never forget the day your brother disappeared: Wisconsin won the Rose Bowl 17-9! Oh, I miss him."
The acting on that line, going from sad to enthusiastic to sad again, just seemed incredibly forced.

I thought that was hilarious!

Just remembered an awful one from Bendin' in the wind:
"That's like Christina Aguilera singing in Spanish."
Laaame, and way too 20th century. I also hated the Beck ass-kissing in that.

It's always annoying any characters other than Fry make external references to past celebrities like that. Here's another example from Parasites Lost:

Professor: A cursory glance would suggest they've doubled his thinking power.
Hermes: My god! Soon he'll be smarter than Cher!

Yeh.  "Oh my God you're Beck!"
Cringe-inducing.  Reminds me of most of the recent celebrity cameos on the Simpsons.  Shudder.

I actually liked those Roswell lines. That Space Pilot line is a little bit cringeworthy if you've heard it too many times, but I didn't think it was too uncharacteristic.

Yeah, looking back on it, at the time I was a pretty funny quote. On Channel 4 though it got used in the advert for Futurama and, well, it hasn't aged very well.  :hmpf:

I really think 300 Big boys wasn't a good ep. Many of the lines were lame, from Roseanne to that whale biologist. Well, the whale biologist one was fine, but it got old real fast.

I thought some of the Robot Devil's lines in The Devil's Hands Are Idle Play Things where a bit much, especially "Oh your not nice!" when Fry was talking to him from the balcony outside PE HQ.

really i thought "your not nice!" coming from the devil was hilarious. oh well, everone has a different sense of humor.

anyway i think the worst line was in mars university. the dummest line ever was from the monkey
fry: want a banna
gay monkey: no i prefer banna flavord protien bars.

well that and everything gunther said. Also (not in this episode) everything cubert says.

I think he just reminded me too much of season 10-12 Homer Simpson. For example "These thing are always touching me... in places". The way he was at the end completely made up for it though.

It seems that for every line that someone thinks is really lame, another person finds hilarious... I like most of the lines presented here, especially the "I never heard of no mayor" line from LTH.  I don't like most of the 20th century references though. They just don't make sense, especially considering how much they don't know about the past in almost all other instances.

Too predictable...and I actually liked the "Oh, I give up" line.

I never liked that line either.  If only because throughout not only the rest of that episode, but the rest of the show's run, he always feels sad about the life he lost, despite loving the future.

I much prefered the "Hey, my bike's gone!" line from the deleted scenes.  It fit much better and was a lot more funny, imo.
