I thought the worst lines were all the lines said from Cubert, Dwight, and Leela's former karate instructer.  i.e.  "See you in girl hell! I'm going to boy hell, much nicer!"

Phnog cracked me up. Don't diss him! His lines were great.

Even Cubert had good lines: "The illusion is perfect. For a second, I almost forgot I was looking at an IDIOT!"

But you know who has lame lines? Zoidberg.

The Grunka Lunkas were anything but lame.

GLERMO: Hey, I'm not paying you to sing! You just used up today's bathroom break!
GRUNKA LUNKA: Hardass.
GLERMO: I heard that!

Quite possibly the best line from 1ACV13.

Michelle dumps Fry from 1ACV01 Space Pilot 3000

Street. Fry cycles past people enjoying their New Millenium Eve. A cab pulls up and he sees his girlfriend inside.

Fry: Michelle! Baby! Where you going?
Michelle: It's not working out Fry. (The cab pulls away.) I put your stuff out on the sidewalk!

You're crazy, Phnog was brilliant. "You were an excellent student ... too bad I was a lousy teacher!!"

Anyone else note that for each lame line posted, at least to other posters disagrees and say it's one of the best ever. I guess Futurama really had something for everybody.  :D

That was a great line in SP3K, but the line in The Cryonic Woman was a vastly inferior callback.

Fry: Michelle! Baby!
Michelle: It's not working out Fry. (the limo pulls away)

As much as I love Futurama, there have been plenty of lame lines.

So why are people posting so many funny ones? Phnog and the Grunka Lunkas are classic.

and although TLOTF may have had a lot of lame dialogue, but it also contained the line:
"Hey baby, ever done it in a suitcase?"
which more than makes up for 3 episodes of lame quotes.

i think the grunka lunkas were excellent.

professor; who are they?

worm thing; Why they're the grunka lunkas,

professor; tell them i hate them!

and as for the lamest line it has to be that, you cant give up i never gave up are you listening oh i give up crap. that was the worst acting i have ever heard in any show, in any country, at any time, in any life.
Surely no-one thought that was good or done well?

That wasn't dire! But (no offense) your grammar is - the line is;
"You can't give up, Professor; there were plenty of times in my era when I was going to give up, but I never did.  Never! Are you even listening to me? Oh, I give up."

It wasn't that bad.
I think Leela's crying noises in general are pretty poor acting - the rest of it is pretty good, but those crying noises just make me cringe.

Fry's "I give up" line in 1ACV08 might have been better had it not been dubbed over a totally incorrect lip movement with no expression. Wonder what the original aline was.

I didn't notice the incorrect lip-sync, but I agree with everyone who thought that line was lame. It's one of those lines where it sounds like Fry is deliberately going out of his way to contradict himself instead of making a genuine comical slip-up, so it doesn't work for me.

I've never had much of a problem with her crying, because usually whenever anyone cries on Futurama it's supposed to be funny, and the way she does it doesn't sound serious.

You mean like in WMIBACIL?

Fry: Just look her in the eye, start crying, and say 'I've never been so happy'.
Leela: Ugh! If a guy ever did that to me, I'd know it. Wait a second. They've all been doing that to me. Even Shawn!

I thought the whole little dialogue in "Love's Labours..." where it's revealed Leela slept with Brannigan was just kind of awkward.  Bender's "So what, it's not like you slept with him or anything" just seemed to come out of nowhere.

I don't remember very many lame lines, to tell the truth, and believe me, I don't mind  :D

I wouldn't say that. You gotta admit that the way Leela was going "Nothing! We just talked!" was a bit of a giveaway.

"That's no excuse for ocean rudeness!"- since when does the professor side with Fry? Or even pay attention to what other people are saying.  It just doesn't jive with me.

I believe his exact words were:

"He may have ocean maddness, but that's no excuse for ocean rudeness"

It seems to me like the Proffesor was only defending Fry not agreeing with him.

That was cringe worthy.

I agree that the ocean rudeness line was stupid.  But "Nothing like a warm fire and a super-soaker of fine cognac" is one of my favourite lines from Xmas story.  What's not to like?

Also, I think Amy's hairspray line is not exactly inspired comedy, but it has to score some points for arbitrariness, which is always funny.

The lamest lines are the jokes that are too popular and are not funny anymore.
Even though, I barely find a bad line in futurama.
