What do people needs DVDs for? Any self-respecting Futurama nerdlinger can just flick on their inner movie screen to watch all the episodes. Though I might just pop in a disc or two for the audio commentaries. Also people need to develop thicker skins. I think it's just badly deinterlaced. You only seem to get artifacts on scenes where it looks like they fudged with the speed. Maybe, I notice it quite a lot in the DVD menus, as well as when any of the characters talk. Everyone just looks really different because the show had just started they were off model. More than looking different, what I found most intriguing was how different some of the characters sounded. Then again, why is Leela's jawline so prominent?
