PEE Poll: What do you think of Toynami?
I love them and collect them all.
I really like them and have some.
I like them, but I don't have any.
I don't really care for them.
I'm just here for the free food.

I'm debating whether this will likely be a rare item which goes up in value in the future or not...
Yes, it will.

That's my guess anyhow. The bigger sized items like that almost always increase in value among comic memorabilia...at least that's what I noticed. Also the whole story behind this guy and how long it has taken for him to actually be made...my money's on it will skyrocket in value. And it's not a common.

I'm buying it, simply because if you don't support the line, then they'll never make more.

I have been tempted to hold out and see if they do in fact ever release the one with Gender Bender, but somehow I doubt it will see the light of day.

I wasn't that excited by the past photos of destructor but I think it looks awesome in the latest pic! I was going to wait to see if there was a special set with gender bender as well but it look's like it's just one version.

I noticed people have been posting on the toynami Facebook page saying they've received it and the box says 1 of 1000, so I guess it's one limited run?

Anyway just ordered mine, like TheAnvil says hopefully supporting this will give them some reason/money to finance more figures. Hopefully it'll be available to the suppliers in the next week or 2 and looking forward to getting mine! :D

If it's numbered I better get in there quick! Where is best to place to buy this from for UK buyers? Forbidden Planet have it listed at £49.99. Reasonable price or not? Also they say the ship date is 31st March (given that this is for UK)...

I wasn't sure where to get it from, I saw it on forbidden planet but ended up going for play.com (same price but free postage) which says shipping 23rd Mach.

Hopefully either will be fine, theres one on US ebay already at $150 with more photos..

Thanx for the heads up, I have just pre-ordered it from Play given that it has free postage. I was a little reluctant given the price, but at the end of the day it's Futurama and it supports the show and possible future models (plus it's likely to increase in value). Also, the model is pretty damn cloolsome, so I look forward to when it arrives!...

Plus on Play it's listed as the 23rd March, and on FP it's listed as 31st, so we get it sooner :).

I ordered from play.com, i am reluctant to do so as in the past they have sent me poorly packaged figures that have been damaged in transit, but they just sent me a plush nibbler that was well boxed so i thought i'd give them another go when forbidden planets both charge for p+p

on the release date issue, play.com change theirs from week to week, so keep checking back!

Holy Cow! I can't believe it is out.

I was looking at the Bender Tineez exclusive figure on eBay and the price has decreased significantly since it was originally released. I saw a figure for buy-it-now at $28 and one with bidding starting at $19. When they originally came out the lowest price I could find was $45. (I am in Canada as well, US ebay may have had cheaper options.)

I think bender is a way bigger draw as even non-collectors want his figures. Although the Tineez did have a very different look. But Destructor is not a big draw even for Futurama fans. I think mostly the Toynami line collectors are interested and prices will drop soon.

Also, I am holding out hope for the Destructor with Gender Bender set....

Play.com always push back the release date, you won't see it for months. They have done it with every single futurama item i have ordered. I'm not bothered as long as i get it eventually

I pre ordered mine months ago so i should be guranteed it.

If you look at the release dates although they are a week apart any one who orders from either site will probably receive them at the same time.

I would expect both release dates to optimistic but now we know it has been released in the US we should'nt be far behind.

I guess being late to the game and having to pay around $140 for Zoidberg doesn't make $70 seem all that bad. Plus it's cheaper than the $150 Destructor is going for on ebay!

Is the SDCC destructor the only version? Becuase i coulda sworn i read somethin along the lines of them releasing a delux? or was i led astray? Cuz if they're going to do a delux with the gender bender that's the one id opt for. But if there's just the SDCC, looks like a decent price. $130's the most ive spent..and that was for glorious golden bender. So worth it now its almost or over $200.

Toynami has always said that there'd be a retail version of Destructor that will come with a Gender Bender figure, and we saw pictures of both at SDCC it was I guess.

But the question I'm wondering now is does Toynami have its act together and will it follow through on this or will those of us who haven't ordered the SDCC Destructor get screwed?

Barring Toynami folding up shop or losing the Toynami licence, I can't see why they wouldn't do a retail Destructor since the hard work's already done on making him and for all we know they already went ahead and produced the retail ones at the same time.

Also this SDCC version is selling fast with BBTS for instance down from 60 in stock apparently to 16 last I checked, so I'd have to think there'd be demand for him.

But who knows, still not holding my breath on anything new with this line at this point - have to see it to believe it. Was toying with the idea of buying the SDCC Destructor then flipping it if the retail version comes out.

But that seems kind of silly. And for all I know a retail version with Gender Bender will erode the secondary-market prices for this Bender-less SDCC version.

please toynami, if you do kill this line..i want a fcuking scruffy! oh, and those robot mafia figures would add some life to my collection. the last reissue bender was the last 'new' figure added.

i second jaba on the whole 'hard part' being done. altho to make the gender bender mold might take a minute..so go ahead and release the mafia figures, build up the anticipation of gender bender/desructor. then y'all can blow our brains by having a new series for christmas.

ive never had such a problem with a toy company taking my money like this.

I would pay good money for a Scruffy..

Hello everyone, first post on here. I just recently started collecting the Futurama Toynami Figures and it has been a complete joy so far. I do have a question for this forum since this since to be the place to ask about these Figures.

Anyone know of the best stands to purchase for the Figures, since some of them do not like to stand up on their own?

Thanks for any feedback

I don't have any stands, I just placed mine in a cabinet and had to be creative with gravity to allow them to stand, like placing the ones that have trouble balancing neatly resting near the back or interacting two characters to support each other, like positioning Kif with his arms around Amy.

How will you display them exactly? I'm guessing somewhere open since you need the stands.

I like Big Bad Toy Store, that is where I've ordered all my Futurama figures from, but I wish they would clean up their listings.  There are 89 items listed for Futurama on their site and I swear half of them have "sold out" as their status.  What is the f'ing point of keeping the sold out items listed on there?  To say "Oh, here's all this crap you can't buy."?  It's inefficient because I have to waste my time looking through those "sold out" items to find the stuff that is actually still in stock.  Not that there have been any new Toynami figures to order lately other than that Destructor...

Yeah, I agree. Amazon had the Sold Out Futurama 2012 calendar on their site for a while even though it was obvious they were not going to get it back in. If the site is waiting for a reorder, then I don't mind if it says SOLD OUT on their page. If it is obvious to them that they won't ever get it back in, then they should remove it from their page. It's only common courtesy.

There's actually 5 on ebay for now, 4 are auctions ranging from $51-$120 and there is one BUY IT NOW for $199.99.

My question: Does anyone know what the original retail price of this figure was? Man I didn't know they had that last year, otherwise I would have had my coworker get that in addition to the Tineez and Plush Robot Devil she ordered for me.

Ok, one just sold for $122.50: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SDCC-Futurama-Destructor-Metallic-Spike-Paint-Rare-/320874824300?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab5a1426c&autorefresh=true

BTW for those who have been thinking about the MAC figures, there are some really cheap auctions about to end - someone is really gonna get a steal on these because the description is not in the title:

As for the custom figure thing, the offer is very generous, however using a Futurama character is surely a legal problem? They would need to gain revenue from such a figure somehow, so how would that work?...

I would love to see a Scruffy, Hyperchicken, Cubert, Fnog, and a Buggalo...

so the only differences in the SDCC destructor and the delux destructor are the color of the spikes, correct?

That's a pretty stupid reason for the price between the two to be so drastically different, but then again when have collectable figures ever had logic and normality attached to their values? I wonder how many of these new Destructor's will get made? Will it be to supply demand, or is there a strict quota?...

Hi guys, thanks for the interest.  Yeah I couldnt do a lot before getting into legal trouble.  One would be considered fan art, but 2, 3, 50,000 haha I dont know.  I think instead of taking an individual request, I'll just read what you guys are suggesting and work on a fan piece.  I'll be sure to keep all of you updated. :)

As for the sculpture, I use Magic Sculpt and Wax for the fleshy forms.  So obviously you wouldnt want to paint a wax so a mold is made and a copy is cast in hard urethane plastic for final paintup and stuff.
