Story sounds pretty bad. Going to Tattooine AGAIN is also terrible.

...and yet, I'm still somewhat excited by this trailer. The clone troopers/battles/ships all look amazing as anything.

I've been doing some Star Wars research today and apparently there was a Sith lord called Darth... Secretus? Um. Um um. It was in a Sith reunion yearbook!

I'd like to hear any thoughts or allergic reactions on this?

I still wanted to know who Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas (requester of the clone army) was after Episode II, I had to check Wikipedia to find out who he was, George Lucas sucks at resolving major plot points.
He sends Obi Wan off detective like and then resolves bugger all about the actual mystery.

Also, I'd like to mention the Complete Star Wars Cross-section book is totally sweet.

Another trailer. Still impressed by the action shots. They are honestly as good as any show/movie I have ever seen. Very exciting.

And the voicework sounds great--apparently Christopher Lee and Sam Jackson are doing voices for the movie(not sure about the weekly series).

Everything I hear about the story makes me groan, though. I hope I'm wrong and this show/movie doesn't suck. Apparently they have Paul Dini working on it in some capacity. Maybe it won't be so terrible?

Nope, Sil is right. Frank Oz isn't doing the voice of Yoda. Although I could have sworn I recalled reading an interview where he said he would do it, if George Lucas asked him.

I wonder why they'd ask Lee/Jackson/Anthony Daniels/whoever else, but not Frank Oz? Samuel L Jackson is cool and all, but I don't see his voice as being as big an aspect to the character as Yoda's.

I don't really have anything against it besides the fact that it isn't the original trilogy era which is vastly better. They're just milking it way to much. That's why I'm looking forward to the live action series alot more. It's supposed to be more serious and less jedi centric. Part of what made the original trilogy so great was it had a perfect blend of the jedi stuff and the military aspect of the war. That balance gets dragged out into the woods and shot in the prequals.

I have many things against..

It was supossed to be a great war involving clones..

and sure it did.. the "great war" involved clones, wich by the way became the primary force of the republic/empire (that should make the civil war "the second clone wars" ?) fighting ordes of silly droids.. and among them silly Jedis wich instead of being like the Jedi we knew from the old trilogy (ok, we only knew an old jedi, a wannabe jedi an a fallen beaten dark jedi) we only see jumpers wich constantly do mile jumps and twist and spins and kill dozens of droids per stroke and cant see a damn thing about them being used.. and almost no "civilan" involvement at all.. nothing like the civil war we saw in the old trilogy, even the space ships we saw were crewed either by faceless clones or by silly droids.. its like it was totally directed to kids.

And he (Lucas) keeps focussing again and again and again in that precise period.
So im so lookin forward to the live action series..
they say it will no involve Jedis.. great!! thats what i like it! to have Jedis so silly better no have them at all..the Jedi and the force will again became what they were in ep 4 .. a "legend" a "memory" , something mystic and forbiden..

anyway now im convinced that Lucas will somehow screw up and fuckup that new live action series

Dude, Lucas just gives these things the nod, I don't think he has any actual input like on the animated Clone Wars, and all that jumping around stuff was just Genndy Tartakovsky giving the Jedi his Samurai Jack treatment.

Still, horribly lame. A whole freaking fictional Universe out there to explore and expand and Lucas keep signing the checks for projects that are post Prequal Jedi wankfests.

The Jedi story is done. Six goddamn films is enough. Lets hear about the Imperial Grunt, Rebel Freedom Fighter or just some really crappy Bounty Hunter try and survive the Star Wars Galaxy.

Thats exactly my point.. and even in three of those movies the Jedi were not anoying and were not full of clones.. well actually they were because now we know that Imperial troopers in civil war are in some 99% clones..

There is the whole dark 19 years to explore.. the empire expansion , the expansion of the imperial navy, the great moff and graat almirals..
Dunno.. i probably will be deeply let down like i was by the prequels (except ep3) but i  would love the live action series to be like somehow Babylon 5 without the shadows-vorlon stuff .. you know.. how it developed the civil war.. loyal officers turning against their own goverment and fleet, etc. and a mix of firefly, only not firefly exactlyu.. but maybe a Han Solo type character (or maybe they even dare to cast a Han Solo with other guy rather than Harrison Ford, like in the star Trek movie or the Terminator saga where they are going to change the actors  because the characters are atemporal to try to liberate them from the actor who plays them.. like James Bond

only that instead part of 2 or 3 seasons like B5 it would have to expand for 5 seasons (last thing i readed was 5 seasons of 20 episodes) Then it would be, at least for me awesome, roaming the galaxy smugling stuff or people, evading imperial cruisers and fighters, imperial officers that may realice that they are in the "bad" side.. the birth and start of the rebellion.. how they got the calamary cruisers..
If only they took a look at the general history of the EU they would have tons of awesome material to work with (like the development of the X-Wing , the hystory of the death star) but we know thats not going to happen..

It's true.

This show should be decent for you Lucas-haters. He doesn't seem to be too involved, creatively. He's just ok'ing storylines and such, and I guess also whipping the animators until the shots look as cinematic as possible. (Seriously, this animation is unreal. Easily the best animation I've ever seen on TV. Although not quite so impressive for a big-screen effort, which is why I'm really disappointed that they've opted for the big-screen premiere. Shameless cash-grab.)

Personally, I'm still not sold on the writing. I'll admit it, I like Lucas's scripts. His ideas might be goofy and crazy, but they are also fun and interesting. The non-Lucas-written story for Clone Wars just seems rehashey and boring.

Although the first review makes it sound pretty good: http://www.sfx.co.uk/page/sfx?entry=film_review_star_wars_the

Should be worth seeing with the kids, at the very least.

I dont "hate" Lucas.. i simply dont like at all what he is focusing.. we allready had 3 movies of silly combat against silly droids.. after the empire raises and the republic and the separatists fall they are done, so are the Jedi..
Even in that same period of time there were fights of "non-clones" being against the separatists .
Renember "red leader" i ep IV? He claimt he flow with Anakin Skywalker.. we dont see any non-clone or non-droid pilot ever (except in the animated series in Mon Calamary or that indian-like planet)

I wouldnt be so pissed off if a history about Anakin, Obi or other Jedi went to help a "civilian" army fight against separatists or something and the Jedi would be a Jedi and not a wanker .. they were supossed to be thinkers, stealth infiltrators.. mind manipulators.. yet in the movies/series they jump into killing spree rather fast stroking their lightsaber and using force pushing.. that works great with kids or with many careless people..but for many becames anoying..

It like when Lucas decided to use digital clones ..ok thats fine.. you are not supossed to make 10.000 clones armour for real..
but then decided to employ digital clones FOR ALL INCLUDING CLOSEUPS.. WTF! Whats the problem with having an extra in armour .. making just 2 or 3 armours and keeping them there for close ups.. the rest can be digital..
But it got ludicrous when Temuera Robinso's armour and helmet were digital in ep3.. that was the final nail in the coffin of sillyness and stupidity.. WHY? why you just dont hand a plastic armour to Temuera? Too expensive? it was blatant overkill ..

I would like people to know more about the cooler bits of the whole thirty year old goddamn universe. Not the same goddamn bit with the clone wars constantly. The Jedi were kick ass warriors with aversion to being vaguely human. We get it.

Come on, we all want something to do with the OT. If you are going to constantly do mini cartoons can they at least do one based on Shadows Of The Empire? At this point I won't even care if they use immitation voice actors for Hamil and Billy Dee.

Because those two are so busy lately. There's only a few from OT that I wouldn't expect, whether it be death or being the Harrison Ford. A Shadows movie would've been far better than more Clone Wars.

Ummm..... please no?  Seriously, Harrison Ford is Han Solo.  You can make a character like Han Solo, but Harrison Ford is Han Solo.  Furthermore, your examples are bad Javi, except maybe James Bond, and that's a big maybe...  Arnold is the Terminator, William Shatner is Captain Kirk, and Leonard Nemoy is actually Spock.  End of story.  Plus, the Star Trek prequel is going to fuck with cannon and suck balls, they need to just quit dicking around with that franchise...  Same goes with Terminator, the first 2 movies were great, that's all I care about.

I just think they should do histories about for example Mon Mothma  , Bail Organa (wich have actors now who appeared in ep3 and are right on the age for it), maybe wedbe Antilles, rebellion forces..  Imperial officers, or as i said a pilot, smugler, any character who sees how the empire is beggining to fuck up with anything and maybe in the end gets into the rebellion or simply just ocassionally like Dash Rendar, or Lando Calrisian..
There is toons and all of them are cooler and less anoying than clone wars. The  only bits i liked about clone wars were the animated series battle of Mon Calamary and the Coruscant space battle.. thats it..
apart from that people must becaming confused.. every time they just keep the same pair of jedi among the same orde of clones fighting the same ordes of droids

Some serious anime and non anime style animation films for Star Wars would also be bitching too.

If Batman can do it, why not Star Wars?
