Is it just my crappy internet speed, or is the "search" option taking its sweet time?

no it's slow on mine too, then again I'm on dialup. WHenever I search though and press the back button to edit the search words i get that "nope" page and have to go back and start over, that's a bit annoying.

It's usually moderately slow for me and I'm on cable.

Search works just fine for me, and I'm on dial-up.

That never happens on my computer, but the other day I was peeling from a different computer (high-speed connection) and I had that problem.

I have given gff the authority (well I am about to when he comes online) to upload the avatars himself. This way things will get more efficient. The whole idea for making people wait, was to avoid people changing avatars every day. This is also the reason I made people wait this long and ignored their cry to upload them  :) I do admit that I did take a bit long to upload them  ;) But this will all be fixed in the capable hands of our good old friend gff!  :D

It will cause PEEL to crash. It's happened before, apparently.

Not exactly, but 3 word stories tend to derange into nonsensical spaminess pretty quickly. Oh it might start out okay, but soon people just write whatever 3 words pop into their mind or diliberately try to sabotage any attempt at a plotline. Even then, how are plots or direction even to be achieved when the individual poster only contributes 3 words at a time? It's simply not a good idea.

What about a 10 word story? That wouldn't be such as spammy. Could we do that?

Let's put it this way: several years back we had a "Write a goddamn paragraph or we'll throw the book at you!"-thread. It got spammy and nonsensical after 3 pages ... I think it was three pages....

And we were awesome back then, imagine what would happen today.

Yeah..people, in attempts to be funny, will take the story way out of context and so the thread would quickly evolve into a "write your own story" thread and then into a "write whatever you feel like" thread.

0mg someone listened to me...i'm getting shivers... *twilight zone music plays*

Thanks for that slims. I wouldn't agree on uploading new ones every day either, perhaps you and gff could discuss a day of the week/month when you will upload avatars, so people (like me!!!) don't get impatient and think you forgot about them  :(

It's a german server.  Happens all the time when there's a server error.  It's no big deal, and the thread should be fine next time you check it.

I have a complaint. When you register it takes ages, and I mean ages, to be able to post. I've got two friends waiting to join (Beelzebot3.0 and some over guy) and they've been waiting over a week. Shouln't they be allowed to post since the day they register? Can someone activate these users and make it faster for the future, otherwise new people will not ever join up. Thanks

Registration is automatic. An e-mail is sent to confirm that the e-mail address is yours and "live" and as such helping in the fight against spam. If that e-mail isn't received or enacted upon it's nothing to do with us.

That said, the last thing we need is yet another quango.

I'm annoyed by people advertising their shitty forums and telling people to join. People want power  because they are preteen kids bullied at school. Don't take it out on us guys. There's a site called peel. Thats the board to go to.

I've been busy with classes and stuff lately, so during the times I do surf PEEL, I usually just check OffTopic, but I do venture into good  ol' Futurama Discussions every once in a while.

But yeah, there are alot of high-posting new guys lately, but who gives? It's just a freaking post count, just as long as they dont uber-spam like I did.

Your complaint is being held in a queue and will be answered by our next available operator. Your call is very important to us, we hope you will enjoy this tinny version of Greensleeves whilst you wait. Thank you.

Anybody who really wants to hear the worst holding music in the world should call one of the following companies:

Royal & SunAlliance on 08701 650 508 (premium rate, so don't hang on too long)

Sidney H Hoopers on 0151 289 9988 (cheesy eighties pop music for the most part)

AON Ltd Claims Department on 01384 455 011 (some truly awfully rendered classical violin mixed with an unhealthy dose of xylophone)

Pilkington UK on 0113 249 7511 (Just. Don't. Ask.)

The only problem is the Password system in 'your profile'. It's not hidden behind stars or dots, so anyone with you can view it, or see what you change it to  :(

Well yes it isn't hidden, but then again, how often are you in your profile when you have set it up once? Beside that there isn't that much to set up, beside location occupation, messengers and your sig (which you have to scroll down for, so that your password is normally hidden).

Also you need your password to get into your profile in the first place.  :hmpf:

Actually, he does have a point. If the computer you're on saves the cookies and keeps you "logged in", anyone can go to that computer and click "Sumit Identification" (because the Name/Password is filled in automatically) and then view your password.
