Sniping at system lords would make for a boring show.

Zip, -crack- Apophis is dead. Zip, -crack- Ba'al is dead. Zip, -crack- Yu is dead. Zip, -crack- Kronos is dead. Zip, -crack-, oh you get the idea.

A little of a, a little of b.

With the Priors, you'd have to have a wide information net to determine when a Prior has visited a planet and when he is coming back.  You set up the sniper so that when the Prior takes his first step out of the Gate, he meets a 50 cal armor-piercing sniper round, right between the eyes.

Nah, using a Steyr would be a strange choice indeed, after all, they are prohibited from doing business with federal organizations in the US after selling some sniper rifles to Iran. I'm pretty sure this is why you will never she a Steyr rifle on the show. Really.

@Nix: I'm sure they tried this already, but failed so miserably that they didn't want to show this to the world.  :p

We've all sold weapons to Iran at some point in our lives.

NB: I saw the Season 10 box set in K-Mart the other day. It hasn't even finished its TV run here on Australian TV.

Anubis has arrived

And since it's mentioned in the article, let me just say that any of you Brits that have the opportunity to see the King Tut exhibit should immediately take it.  It's amazing.

So, new Atlantis episodes... who's downloading?

The 1st, 2nd and 4th eps are out, the latter being leaked by Apple on iTunes by sheer dumbness.

So far they're ok, nothing great, Jewel Staites butt wins.

Ok, I'm all for developing character histories, but what's with rodney suddenly being afraid of whales? Wasn't he the one who was excited about the lantean whales a couple of seasons ago? You'd think such a latent fear would've come up then...

Yeah, this episode was kinda ... not good.  Although I almost died laughing at the random clown.

At least Sam's calling McKay "McKay" instead of "Rodney."

yeah, offhand I can't think of an ep I enjoyed less; the interesting bits were all in dreams, which always seems like a cheat to me. The best writers must be busy with the movies or something.

The clown was funny, but the whale didn't look like any kind of cetacean I know of, particurlarly the teeth and gums. Of course, it was just a dream...

Also, not that I don't like having her around, but didn't they need Carter in the milky way, what with the whole Ori situation?

What Ori situation? Doesn't the first SG1 DTV film put an end to the whole Ori thing?

... well, normally I'd just shrug and say "magical season break" but they had a cliffhanger, and you really can't say that even a single day passed between First Strike and Adrift.

I haven't watched the show lately, in quite a few years.  I stopped watching after Daniel Jackson left [I'm not a fan of change] but after seeing an episode this weekend I realized I missed out on a very good series.  The episode was "200", It's made me want to catch up with the 4 or 5 seasons I missed.

200 was one of the most enjoyable 44-ish minutes of my life.

And yes, you left just when it really got good - the villains got more villainous (Anubis, Ba'al, human-form Replicators, the Ori), the ships got sexier (the makings of a Tau'ri fleet, if they could keep the damn things from exploding), and Daniel became more Jack-like, which is always a good thing.

It's going to take a while to catch up because I can't afford all the dvds.  If I would have known that Daniel Jackson came back I would have started watching it again.  Was Jack only gone for the last season?

Jack left after season 8, so Seasons 9 and 10 it's been Cam Mitchell, an amiable enough replacement, if no Richard Dean Anderson.

Does anybody know which cast memebers are going to be staring in the movies?

SWEET!

I watched another episode today and honestly, not having Jack O'Neil isn't a big deal.  The rest of the cast seems to pick up the slack quite well.

Just finally saw the series final (Aussie TV can just fuck right off).
Pretty cool stuff.

Perhaps not the grandest sendoff, but it did have heart.
