Thats not true. Last season Dan wrote in his notebook that he needed to use Desmond as his constant. They do not care about each other immensely.
It's been a while since I watched The Constant, but maybe he would care about Desmond because it was Desmond who gave him the co-ordinates to successfully make the mouse's consciousness time-travel. That was a huge thing for Dan. Gah, who knows. Lost makes my brain hurt. And my pants sticky.

<3 REAAALLY good episode, it's good that they are starting to link things together. back to ep 11 of last season, when richard visits young John, do we think he was pissed at him for not picking the compas? Not enough ben in that ep I need to draw a connections map, the ep linked a lot of people together. Do you think Daniels Mum is the lady from the end of last ep, who was in the ep when Des was getting a grips of his time shifts?

Chay - Jin is alive, and when you all find out, I will laugh at you for ever doubting my physic abili OMG SPIDER ON MY WALL BBL
I never doubt it.. im on the group that he is alive.. BTW.. loved Desmond storming into Widmore's place , Desmond rulez And they gave a hint into Richard.. he is old... old.. we have some theories about why he appears in different times allways the same.. One coworker said that they were actually clones in diferent times.. now his theory was seemengly destroyed

<3 Dan - it just has to be said! @Amy: Jin's name in the credits could mean he shows up in an episode as a ghost/dead person, or as a new memory or in a flashback scene. He's so deeaaaad @Chay: Oh I totally forgot about Richard visiting young Locke!! So Locke picking the wrong item just confirmed Richard's preach about selection at a young age yadda yadda yadda. No wonder he was pissed. So that means the rules kinda change 50 years down the track when they accept him as "special" and to be their leader then. Okay... so this whole young Charles Whidmore thing... Ben comes along at some stage (from somewhere??) and "steals" the island from Whidmore - remember? right? Is that how it went? Each one was accusing the other of stealing the island from them... but does this now prove that Whidmore was there first? Is this group of "others" pre-dating Ben's "others" camp? Or was that the camp that Richard told to get out and then killed off?? (somehow Ben involved, and I speculate to have escaped). Any ideas? Ohhh and I'm slow, yes okay so Desmond et al go to LA now - surprise that's where the O6 are hanging out etc... he somehow intercepts and gets them on their merry way by being involved... Why doesn't Richard age? Is this one of the island's "powers"? Why isn't Locke's wound healing itself super fast either? H-Bomb! How does Dan know that by burying it, it will be okay? I mean, why not sink it in water? Why bury? Is cute villain girl infact the same girl sick in the bed?? I couldn't be bothered snapping two frameshots to compare.

Nins. All those people i presume get killed by the Americans who eventually do take over the island to do their "Testing" or whatever the called it, Which goes on to be Dharma. So Widmore doesn't die, but gets off the island, Ben then comes with his dad, helps/enables the purge and feels like it is his island now. But Widmore obviously feels like it's still his, even though they were sort of on the same side, ie, The Others and not Dharma.
Also, Dan knows it's okay to bury, because he's been on the island 50 years later, and it's still there, it didn't blow up, so it can't blow up...
EDIT: Shut up faze, the letters are like, right next to one another...

Ohh Gotchya. Thanks. Also, Dan knows it's okay to bury, because he's been on the island 50 years later, and it's still there, it didn't blow up, so it can't blow up... lol i know that part... I meant, why bury? Why not carry it out to sea and sink it? Why not something else? Why *bury* in particular? <:'( Anyhoo, I think Richard is a pretty good leader, why do they even need Locke or Ben to lead them? Anyway, they already have Jacob (who due to the time travel is probably Locke or Jacks dad in some form or another) so whats with all the leader bizness?
nanana nana na nana na LEADER!! Leader... leader... leaaaaderrrr... I don't know about Jacob. Obviously he's around back in the early days if Richard is aware of him - maybe Bear is right, maybe Richard is part of the island afterall.

I forgot to mention that I loved ep 3 mostly because it was totally "classic Lost". All on the island, lots of "who's that?" moments Good to have a classic ep so deep into the story. And Jin is dead. Name in the credits is not indicative as to whether his character is alive or not.
