I forget most of what happened, but I remember Kirk got annoyed when the Doctor reprogrammed the food synthesizers to accompany every meal with a side of a single jelly baby.

I bought it at the one and only 'Trek con I ever went to - a one day affair at some hotel near LAX a thousand or so years ago. The only difference in my copy was the cover: A glossy red thing with a centered b/w illustration. I remember the jelly baby gag, and that the good Doctor (no, not McCoy, the other good doctor! ;^) and Mr. Spock took on one anothers' mannerisms due to the effects of a mind-meld. I wonder where my copy is now...

It must be nice to have a "newsagent" that isn't some huge international chain. Damn you Barnes & Noble!

A now for something completely different... Amy/Bender! If Bender was human, those two would totally have hooked up. Oh wait...

Wow! Looks like fryandlemon actually found something that I don't remember ever being mentioned in the ship thread before. Impressive.

I hear the glowing ball of energy was pretty well-hung, so that makes sense.

Just because he might have been gay doesn't mean he couldn't have fallen in love with Amy. I think an even bigger issue here should be the fact that not only are they different species, but that they also operate under different laws of physics.

She's more open-minded than Leela that way. Pfft, laws of physics... Amy + pure energy being = pure happiness. Wooo, I'm a Professor! Guess I'll go post in the proper thread as well.

Well if it operates outside the normal laws of physics, it might have the power to change shape or something like that. (Insert every imaginable energy being power here)

Don't worry, winna. I'm sure some sexist jerks cut out the scene where Amy asks "Why couldn't he be the other kind of energy being, with the physical manifestation in this plane of reality and energy manifestation in another?"

Ok....On that akward note. I have some ship related news about BWABB. There isn't any. According to NastyInThePasty, who got an advanced screening copy, they don't show anything regarding how Leela deals with the fact that Lars was Fry. I always thought that was a major part of BBS, her realizing that. I haven't seen it myself so I don't know anything else. The shipper in me says it will be addressed later because they've got the hole Yivo thing to deal with in BWABB. On the other hand the cynic in me says our old friend the reset-button has reared his ugly head.....again.

It seems pretty clear that that's being put on the back-burner, or it's sort of on hold for this movie, so to speak. On the other hand the cynic in me says our old friend the reset-button has reared his ugly head.....again.
That seems much more likely.

While Futurama has more in the way of continuity than its sister series, The Simpsons, it is still an American comedy cartoon and as such will never have anywhere near the level of inter-episode resonances that a live-action series might have.
The damage NNY sustained from invasion by, Omicronians, Decapodians, etc, was not seen in the process of repair in the following episodes. No tension in the interaction between Fry and Leela was shown in the episode following Parasites Lost. The end of Cryonic Woman was completely ignored when the series returned for a second season. etc etc etc... There is no continuity at all in the show beyond pivotal 'anchor points', like Fry's cryogenic freezing, the Brainspawn, and such. Beyond those mythology elements, every depiction is a disconnected standalone, just like The Simpsons, so gnashing teeth over the show not displaying any repurcussions from the previous episode(s) is pointless.
