I told him to cut out the single-smiley-posts and double posting.
Admins and Uber-mods decide who should get banned, continually posting that you want a person banned is just another form of flaming, if the problem is that bad press the alert button.

Those threads aint so bad. They bring up good questions and points. You can't be angry at a guy for asking relavent questions.
And besides, he's new. He'll get better.

@ Nasty: True, but three threads in one hour? I've made five threads since January!
I don't want him banned, there are definately worse PEELers, but I dunno... He bugs me.

I think some of you people are complaining about newbies too much. I understand that these newer members than yourselves may seem extremely annoying, especially considering that you've all been assfed the PEEL rules of etiquette over and over. But seriously, these offences aren't that bad, especially concerning that over the years, there have been people FAR FAR FAR MUCH worse. On average most newbs: start a lot of threads in rapid succession in a small amount of time, don't ever use the search button, spell horribly with little or no grammar, and act all around annoying. However, if given the chance, they bloom; it is such as our very own Nurdy whom I am proud to say is the picture perfect example of this phenomenon. Then again, some of you may not have been around long to remember his rants of little sense with strange "new" words and odd grammar.

Yes, yes, I completely agree. It literally took my DSL connection about 3 minutes to get there.

I agree, it is far better than having several threads on a subject, if it is rubbish and shouldn't have been bumped one of the mods will close it, or as Archie says it will just sink again, anybody other than the mod who closes posting just to say to didn't need bumping is just spamming, unless they post a link to a more recent or better version of the bumped thread.

More here.Sounds like we got ourselves a troll. Or at the very least a flamebaiter. [Headley Lamarr]Now go do that voodoo that you do sowell![/HL] A thought occours: Could it be our old friend Pixelate/Paul/Devil's Hands? The content of the posts are consistant with his last trolling-streak.

would be nice if these complaints aren't burried under a heap of user-complaint discussions It seems some people can't read sadly There is too much moaning here about certain newbies, if you have a problem with them press the alert button. We don't need debates about which person is worse or whether somebody's trolling is funny or not.

Marc already knows about this complaint of mine from me and Wesley bugging him about it in the chatroom a few weeks ago, but I still think that the search engine on this board should be fitted with these two minor upgrades - and that with these upgrades in place, it would help the newbies and probably cut down on at least SOME spam and threads being posted where's there's already a thread on its topic:
1) On the "Search Forum/Archive" selection menu, have a selection to search ALL forums of PEEL at once and not just one forum at a time
2)On the search results page, the search engine should link directly to posts within a thread, and not just the thread itself, because many titles of threads here at PEEL don't really make the thread appear to be about what the thread is actually about - and to complement that, I'd also like to suggest putting in a default in the search engine to always link to the first post of any thread it finds results in.
