Which episode got you into Futurama?

I searched three times and nothing like this came up, so please forgive me if this has been done.

Today, me and some other people at my school were talking about, well, Futurama. We talked about which episode really made us want to tune in every Sunday @ 7:00 on FOX, wheather it was on or not. I thought it might work on PEEL, too.

So, were you a fan since the beginning, or did a certain episode get you into Futurama?

For me, ever since I saw the cover of this one Magazine back in '98, I knew it'd be great, but alas, I didn't actually see it until the premire of "My Three Suns". Great ep. I guess that's what really got me into it.

For me it was loves labours lost in space that had to be the funniest ep in the first season

I saw the first episode, but didn't really see it much after that because I never knew when it was on. I think "Amazon Women In The Mood" was the one that got me watching it religiously, although it may have been one earlier than that. It had Zapp in it, anyway.

went round to a friends house and got drunk, and started to watch it. When i saw it again, it was just as funny when i was sober, so that was when i realy started to watch it.

I think The Sting was the one that got me REALLY obsessed. I just remember thinking that the Professor's "Perfectly ordinary honey" quote was genius.

Which episode got you into Futurama?

'Space Pilot 3000', and then every ep after even more so...

i started watching it every week since it first aired. But even though i did watch it every week i didn't become a rabid fan until The Honking. I'm not really sure what happened there. The Honking doesn't even make my top ten list of fav eps, but for whatever reason i went to bed that night after watching it a casual fan and woke up the next morning completely uncontrollably obsessed.

The first episode I saw was WMIBACIL, but I didn't become hooked until I saw it on Adult Swim. When I started watching it, they were about halfway through season 3.

The Sting, the very first episode I ever saw back when it first aired, and I still think that is one of the best in the series.

I was eating dinner once and I turned on the T.V.I saw the episode Godfellas.
so,I loved that episode so much that I watched every episode after that.

Not a great episode, but I still stuck with the show.

I saw the first airing of the first episode, but didn't start watching it regularly.  I was a bit prejudiced since I hated The Simpsons and everyone kept comparing it to The Simpsons.  I saw more episodes after that, but didn't really become a fan.  But eventually, I decided to give it a chance and tried to watch it regularly.  I watched a few episodes, unsure if I'd keep it up, but then I saw "Parasites Lost" and knew I'd have to watch every single other episode.

I don't really remember what ep it was, but i just ended up watching it one day on Adult Swim, & well...here we are now.

I saw all of season one, most of season two, and almost none of season three at first. Then when I heard how great those episodes were, I made a vow to know when every new ep would air. I caught the season threes I missed over the summer. So, I guess the episode where I REALLY got into seeing it frequently would be "Roswell That Ends Well."

Space Pilot 3000,

Futurama is the only show where I've been a fan from the beginning, my other favorite shows i've gotten into it like in the 7 or 8th season.

I only ever saw one episode on TV. ive only got torestrial. Channel 4 used to have the first season on in 2000. i lost track of it cuz they moved to 2am saturdays after the first season. when i saw the DVD's i thought to myself ' i rekognize that, an ive neva looked back since. So in answer to your question i cant remember which episode i first saw on TV, however, ive now got all 72 episodes and enjoy each an every one.

same here ive gotten into stargate sg-1 in the last year or so well past the original series. Sorry for the double post

I heard about it in a Nick magazine first (Hey, I was 8 then...) I think that might be the magazine to which someone referanced earlier. (I can't find the one I saw) I tried to watch it from the start, but the first one I got to see was "Roswell That Ends Well"

roswell that ends well, the zoidberg scene where he eats the food off the wall was the funniest zoidberg scene.

Hmmm... I watched every episode from the the first 'till The Problem with Popplers. I thought it was okay, but the Simpsons was better. (Was I ever so young?) After that, it dissapeared from Australian free-to-air TV for about two and a half years. One fine sunny day, a friend with pay-TV told me so jokes from the new episodes, and soon after, War is the H-Word appeared late one thursday eve, so I tuned in.

And thus, I ended my social life.

Aftwards, when I bought the season 1+2 DVD's, I really began to appreciate what a fantastic show it was from day one, but I shall be forever guilt ridden that I intitially didn't see it for what it was. Art, man, ART!!

So yeah, WITHW. Heh.

Well, the first episode I watched was SP3K, but I didn't really follow it. It wasn't until Roswell That Ends Well did I really catch on. My obsession came when my friend showed me blernsball from Fear of a Bot Planet  .

i saw the 1st ep, but didn't get into it unil about, a big ball of garbage[which was the 2nd episode thanks to southern cross(a.k.a. channel 7 & channel 10 in australia]

that'd be the first one i saw, being The Series Has Landed. even tho its not even close to my top 5 or 10 list, i must admit there isnt any futurama episodes that i dont find atleast decent.

Actually I bought the season 2 DVD's for my brother 2 x-mas's ago then I got bored and took them from his room (mutual agreement    ).
I had seen an episode or two but never really new when it was on or I was out most of the time.

I can't say what episode I remember "getting" me into Futurama but I do remember noticing the Leela/Fry goings on and had to see the rest to see what else developed. So I went and bought season 1 and then 3 and got the 4th not long after.
It was somewhere between having season2 and getting the 1st that I discovered CGEF and peel, which was nice because I soon learnt that I wasn't the only "shipper" and Leela admirer (sp?)
Thank god for TLZ and all its Fanfics, used up enough time at work reading those!

Amazon Women in the Mood was the episode that ignited my love for Futurama, since that episode I was a religious watcher of the show

It was love at first sight for me upon seeing SP3K. I didn't really realize the potential of the show until Luck of the Fryrish. Then I knew this show could be as good as the Simpsons.

I actually wasn't into the Simpsons before I watched Futurama. I love Futurama, so I watched the Simpsons, and it's OK, but not as good as Futurama.

The episode that got me hooked was 'Love Labours Lost In Space'. That was 3 yrs ago and I've never looked back! I believe the show improved as it went on, the 1st Series is fantastic but the show improved with age in my opinion ( '300 Big Boys' is a definate favourite!).
