Spoke to Fox PR yesterday, and I'm going to be interviewing him either on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I have a bunch of questions already, but if anyone else has anything they'd like to ask, I can try to get them in. (Not sure how long my interview slot is - probably 20-30 mins).

Anything that doesn't make it into the mag (Hotdog - Britain's third-biggest movie magazine! If it triples in sales, it'll be... er, still Britain's third-biggest movie magazine!) will show up on ANSTATMAW, and no doubt here in very short order...

You mentioned in the season 2 dvd commentaries that you wrote the "Molton Boron" jingle. So which sponser clip was your favourite, and did the team write any to be used for future seasons?

My questions:

How many working hours have you spent 'jazzing up' baseball? Did you ever try to create a certain set of rules for the game?

If you have the season one dvd - he basically answers the "Blernsball" thing.

(To payndz:  Hope these get through, I'd like to get the second one answered more, but if you can fit them both in, I'd be *eternally* grateful.)

I belive either you or Matt once said that a Futurama movie was almost definetly going to happen.  While Murphy's law is certainly dampening our spirits, is there still any chance of this happening, even if it is only well down the line?

Do you or Matt have anything planned for the future (no pun intended) and if not, do you see any chance of you and Matt collaborating on another project down the line?

How much would it cost to make that triology i've heard so little about?.

And about how long would it take to make 1 movie?.

"It's obvious that a lot of the things happening in later episodes was planned ahead, like Nibblers shadow in SP3K. How detailed were the backstory? Did everythin work out exactly like you planned, or did something change along the lines? An example could be Fry's part in "Roswell That Ends Well", was that planned from the beginning, or woven into the plot later because it fit nicely?"

(I hope that made sense, onto question #2)

"Was any of the major plotlines (Fry being in the future, Leela's heritage, etc) "rushed into production" because of FOX' mistreatment of the show? Or were they always meant to be in the 4ACV production?"

(I still think Leela's homeworld aired too soon)

"You did such a great job referencing the best in science fiction throughout Futurama's run.  And as a life-long Star Trek fan, I especially love the references to that franchise.  I have one burning question, though:  Why no Babylon 5, a show that far surpassed the more recent Treks, and was eminently deserving of reference in Futurama?"

"If the show is truly at an end, how about a Cartoon Network or theatrical or direct-to-DVD movie?  Something that emulates the quality and scope of 'Roswell That Ends Well' would be awesome, and you could tie up the elements of the overall story that we never got to see.  I just want to encourage you that it is something that I and a great many others would love (and pay) to see.  And could you please toss some Babylon 5 into it?"

Has FOX's changing of the airing order and the production order ruined the way Futurama was going to finish off?

What are your opinions of FOX? Will you or Matt work with them again if you had another project?

Would you consider producing Futurama again? Would it be possible to get the team back together and work on it again on FOX or another network (Cartoon Network?)? If so, do you think the episodes would be as high a quality as they are now?

"How does it feel to be personally regarded as a comedy God by many, given your incredibly funny performances on the DVD audio commentaries (52% of PEELers consider you the best thing about them in a recent poll)?"

"The Nibbler Shadow story arc - how much were you responsible for it's planning, given your co-writing on SP3K and sole credit on The Why of Fry?"

"You mentioned on the commentary for SP3K that you layed 'a lot' of secrets into the episode. What others did not get to play out?"

Is that greedy, asking 3 questions? Well, who cares? I love the guy, as evidenced by my name.

Oh, here's one I've wanted to ask either him or MG for ages:

Why didn't John Goodman voice the Robot Santa in "A Tale of Two Santas?"

Ah, I can answer that one for you. He was working on his sitcom "Normal, Ohio" at the time.

^ A good but futile question.

My question would be.  How many episodes, not produced, have been storyboarded/roughed out?  Are there a bunch of Futurama episode ideas already in the can that will never see the light of day?  If so, please provide scripts  ;)

With the fact that Futurama has a lackluster publicity and fanbase compared to the Simpsons, was your original intention to make Futurama into a Simpsons replacement? With the sci-fi backdrop and more cynical humor, what were your expectations of fan popularity compared to The Simpsons?

Hmmmm... what to ask... Well, we know there were plenty of ideas and storylines that never made it to being actual episodes, but if there's going to be a movie(s), will you use any of these ideas in it?  :)

If you got a call tomorrow saying "We have funding and a timeslot", how long would it take to have new episodes ready to air?

In the same vein, what percentage of the voice talent, writers, artists and directors would you be able to get back?  No, there's no way of really knowing until you start making calls, but what's your gut feeling?

Interviewed David today (Weds). Great interview - about 35 mins, or 4500 words! Will be putting it online once I've sorted out which parts are going in Hotdog and which parts in DVD Review (work comes first, sadly...)

Lots of good stuff, though: the (potential) Futurama movie, Fox's scheduling, original ideas for the show, the DVDs, Cartoon Network, the episode he's most proud of, the ending of 'Jurassic Bark', the writing process and loads more. (I got through probably 75% of my questions.) Oh, and his answer to the age-old question: "Amy or Leela?"

BTW, and his first words after "Hi Andy" were "I'm just looking at 'Ain't No Such Thing As Too Much Amy Wong'..." *and* the site gets namechecked on the audio commentary for 'Where The Buggalo Roam'! Not quite correctly, but it's better than being "this guy" on the S1 DVDs!  :D

Like I said, I'll put the stuff up as soon as I can. Watch out for it on 'Can't Get Enough Amy Wong'... or something that sounds a bit similar!
