I tried mailing you, Andy, but dunno if it arrived:
Thing is, I'd probably link the interview from CGEF, but I don't know if your CGE Amy account at geocities will be able to take it (it's been down for traffic reasons earlier this month already without any heavy outside links). Can we somehow have a mirror at least for the first few days? I could of course help with that.

Any Fry-related parts in that interview? If so can you contact me too? The Fry Hole could always do with a nice little interview!

Also, how do you set up an interview? Do you have contact info for them or do they contact you or what?

I'm just waiting to hear from the guys on DVD Review which parts they're going to use, then I'll put the rest up on ANSTATMAW (aka CGEAW  ;) ). If somebody wants to email me before then to set up a mirror, as Geocities sucks so much, I'll be able to give them a heads-up.

Seeing as David knew exactly who I was and what my site was all about, I think it's entirely possible that he lurks in these parts...  :D

He posted on CGEF about 'The Why Of Fry' to push the percentage popularity over 'Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles'.

Are you saying that you're not going to put the whole interview in any one place?  Please tell me you're going to put a transcript somewhere and put a link in here or something.

I had no luck with mailing you the last few times. You mail me  ;) I'd need a finished html file with all the needed graphics.

Any parts that DVD Review uses become copyrighted by DVD Review, and he'd have to have permission to reprint them, which I'm guessing will not be happening any time soon.
Just buy a copy of DVD Review. That's what I'll be (trying to) do(ing).

A full transcript would be nice - or course.  Its harder to nitpick a edited transcript for details that might be useful or knowledgeable to the fan.  :)

Buy a copy of "dvd review"?  That blows some serious chunks.  I don't even know what that is or where I could buy it.  Grrrrrr!

payndz, do you know which edition it will be? (i.e. the June, July or August edition). What is it with magazines insisting on using months way in advance anyway   :p?

I'd think a guy like him would be a bit too busy to be a PEELer, although I'm sure he does look through some of the bigger fansites from time to time.

Bang on. Same thing applies to Hotdog, as well - even though I'm the editor, the copyright on anything that goes into the mag is the company's, not mine. But I will be able to put in a precis of the parts that are going into the two magazines (which aren't all that long anyway, so most of the interview will be untouched).

@VF: Actually, this is my real name, with a slight phonying-up of the middle initial as a DXC tribute. Apparently Dustin (Screech) _is_ somehow related, but not in any way which could justify turning up at his house uninvited and asking for money.

@Payndz: What's the time delay on creating the article and seeing it on the shelves? Will we get the unused bits before that? How many of the 75% asked were PEEL-contributed? What IS that rattling sound behind my radiator?

off topic:
but is he related in the way that you could hook him up on dates with girls you met on an internet message board (ever see star dates)?

this is a UK only mag we are talking about right? yes? is it available online at all?

Still O/T:
Given that weeks can go by between me seeing my _immediate_ family, i'd say it was unlikely. Sorry to crush your newly-created dreams there.

On topic: I'm sure someone will (illegally) provide a transcript of the mag interview. Not pointing any fingers at myself, of course, as that would be wrong.

For those of us in the US, DVD Review would probably be happy to ship you a copy of...whatever issue it is. Whenever it's released (please tell us when and what issue, payndz), their phone number is +44 01202 99900. From the US, dial 01144120299900.

DVD Review (and Hotdog, in fact) can be found in the US... if you live in a major city. I've seen both of them in places like Borders and Barnes & Noble in LA and SF, and I expect they'll be in other large cities as well.

Just waiting for the guys on DVD to finish with the text, then I can put the remainder online - hopefully this week.

Great news.

I once bought a British magazine called DVD Monthly, any chance it's the former name for DVD Review?

In case you'll say something like "thats our biggest competitor, I'll kill you", a follow-up question: if I can buy DVD Monthly in Denmark, I should be able to buy DVD Review as well, right?

Can you get DVD Review in Australia? Can you post the full interview payndz or just the stuff they are leaving out. I can host the transcript on my site if you want.

I live in a city of 150,000 in central North Carolina. I think I'll be calling. Unless it's the June issue. I'll be in England in June.

I would say that, only i) I'm not the editor of DVD Review any more so am not that bothered, and ii) Total DVD just overtook DVD Monthly in sales. DVD Review still sells more each month than both of them put together, though. (Hey, I guess I *am* still bothered!   :D )

I'll put the interview up this week. I'm hoping to hear back from David on a couple (well, about 12) extra questions I sent to him, but those can follow later if he's busy.

EDIT: DVD Review should be available all across Europe, either in local editions or the UK version. Failing that, look for some kind of ording link somewhere on www.dvdreview.net

Now up. I've sent Marc the files for a mirror if the original gets slashdotted (which, being on Geocities, I'm sure it will...)
