Nitpick time: The jar-lines on Burt's head aren't quite right. The back one should be behind his hair; not in front of it.
The bigger problem is that Adam West's waterline isn't inclined towards the left since he's flying at an angle. That opalescent magic liquid should be sloshing around, not perfectly rigid like the contents of a dog food can even after you dump it out. I didn't notice the waterline on Burt Ward's head until looking at it two or three times after y'all said something about it, but the other one jumped right out.

I noticed that as well, but I thought nothing of it since I assumed they just didn't bother applying physics to a still promotional image. :p

Today on the Countdown:

Okay.
Now we know who will initiate Leela's change.
Yet, I am also hoping to get a plot relevant explanation why a castle in the clouds is chosen, instead of a normal lab.

So the public can't find out?

Also, why is the place being kept airborne by propellers instead of futuristic hover-technology? :laff:

But is Leela there partly/fully on her own will or was she taken there against her will?
Are extra tentacles due to experiment or progressing mutation (whatever that would mean)?

This is hardly the first time I’ve ever seen Leela with tentacles, but it’s nice to see it somewhere other than NSFW fan art for a change.

The "on her own will" question was certainly settled with that image.

About the change's nature:
I would prefer the "mutations due to experiments" version. So far, a mutant's appearance has remained stable (after being born a mutant, or a normal human having fallen into the lake)-
If would not fit for just the "least mutated mutant ever" to undergo some more unprovoked genetical changes sometime later during her life.
I am fine with artificially caused mutations, for the do not really impede with the fluff.

So if Mom has captured Leela and is performing this tentacle experiment on her by force, why does Leela seem pretty pleased to become a tentacle beast in the preview trailer for 7B?

I am not sure wether she really looks pleased.
To me, her face rather seemd to bear some "tired annoyance" (in the way e.g. Garfiel reacts often to misfortunes).

I think it's almost certainly not "unprovoked", since she's in a cage and is being prodded with a stick.

Based on this picture, I think I'm going to enjoy this episode. Not so much because Leela's a bitch and any episode where she's tormented is fun, but more because any episode where Mom is doing something evil usually has at least some brilliant moments.

Well, we have a "Jack," the "genestalk" and the cloud castle. All that's missing is a giant, unless that's Mom.

I'm looking forward to this episode. I get the feeling it's going to be good :D

The genetic experiments might cause growth on a character, taking the giant's role that way.

If she reverts completely she should become a boneless mass of tissue and have a camouflage skin color reflex so the cage wouldn't hold her for long. Also, Zoidberg would go to the top of her menu.

Indeed. I was just thinking about the narrow gaps octopusses manage to squeeze themselves through.
Though I sincerely hope it will be a rescue done by Fry/Bender. The "Fry to the rescue" themes usually feature a funny plot/twist.

It's ironic how Leela got engulfed by a puddle monster with tentacles in last year's episode then is turned into a mass of tentacles. Hentai to the max.

Plus she used a pink garden hose to pretend she was connected to one of Yivo's tentacles, then in "Möbius Dick" those little pink tentacle-like things started to attach to her and she became melded with the space whale.

What is it with Leela and tentacles?

I'm sick of people saying this certain ep. will be great and/or this certain ep. will suck.

Why don't we wait before we make all our little judgements on something we haven't seen yet?

Every season of Futurama on CC the episodes that I think will be great are not, and the one's that sound dumb are great.

When I heard in advance about "Law and Oracle", I thought Fry becoming a cop would be dumb, then it turned out to be better than a lot of the old classic Fox episodes, one of the series best for sure.

Anyway, there's already a lot of hate for this Leela episode on the net, and it sickens me.

EDIT: For clarity I'm actually venting here about other sites and not so much PEEL.

mundas tentacles in the past,

Uh oh, they better explain that somehow. How could she have tentacles, then human arms, then tentacles again?

You also have to remember the part when an octopus was sucked on Leela's head after she dove in the toxic waste/sewage in "Leela's Homeworld".

I wonder how Leela isn't aware that she has a target on her back when it comes to tentacles.

In the commentaries Matt admits to his tentacle obsession, he thinks they are funny and would be even more present in each episode if he and David had gone with what they originally had planned.

Also don't froget fry and the tentacle bed.

Gotta agree, Leela has usually thought she is the only employee at Planet Express who isn't inferior. Plus the Leela-based episodes are pretty gut-wrenching (A Leela of Her Own, Yo Leela Leela), and I hope that this is the best episode where she is tormented.

I'm goin' to plop myself on my couch for this and see how it'll turn out.
