Futurama has been nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award for animation. http://wga.org/content/default.aspx?id=5098
Here are the fellow nominations:
“A Farewell to Arms” (Futurama), Written by Josh Weinstein; Comedy Central
“Forget-Me-Not” (Family Guy), Written by David A. Goodman; Fox
“Holidays of Future Passed” (The Simpsons), Written by J. Stewart Burns; Fox
“Ned 'N Edna’s Blend Agenda” (The Simpsons), Written by Jeff Westbrook; Fox
“Treehouse of Horror XXIII” (The Simpsons), Written by David Mandel & Brian Kelley; Fox

Eh, an okay choice, but would've preferred something like Fun on a Bun or Near-Death Wish, but meh. A lot better than Family Guys nomination and everything except Holidays of Future Passed from Simpsons.

Futurama's the only one that really stands out to be there as a dedicated piece of comic material. Everything else seems washed up and old...

"Holidays of Future Passed" was a good episode. I think Futurama and that are at a good challenge.

The other two simpsons choices were meh, the blend agenda ep was bad, except for the claymotion with Rod and Tod graduating. That's all the good I can find in that one though.

Treehouse or Horror 23 ( I think?) Was okay. I didn't like the beginning with the mayans, that was retarded.

Family guy's choice......Ugh let's not speak of that horrible episode. How the hell did it make it onto the list??  :puke:

"Holidays of Future Passed" should sweep everything else away.  That was arguably the best episode of the Simpsons ever.  It was sooooooo depressing though.

^ 1 of the few episodes i haven't seen

i really hate "A Farewell to Arms" but at least there's some parts i like. not surprisingly, i think "Fun on a bun" wasn't very fun

yeah i got my reasons

But...but...those were 2 of the best episodes this season. :nono:

i really didn't wanna buy "A Farewell to Arms" but i did 'cause i love Fry. i never wanna watch the full episode ever again. it's 1 of my least favorite episodes. i didn't buy "Fun on a bun". the only stuff i like about the episode are Fry & his chicken hat. i also won't watch the full episode for that ever again

i think "The Six Million Dollar Mon" is the best episode for Season 7

as far as Season 7, "The Bots and the Bees", "A Farewell to Arms", "The Six Million Dollar Mon", & "Free Will Hunting" have my favorite thing about Futurama but, except for "The Six Million Dollar Mon", that doesn't mean i think they're good episodes

^This I can only make assumptions here, but AFWTA might have gotten some kind of "Doomsday 2012" bonus, being based on an actual phenomenon.
While FOAB might have had the better/more epic story, but was rather based on generic Sci Fi shenanigans.

Well, I got the DVD and enjoyed the first 7 episodes.

I think they're much more enjoyable to see in a group rather than one at a time.

Unmentionable your life is terrible. Stop being an annoying prick/troll and just get lost, you're either made fun of or just irritating.

In other news, looks like we have the plot for 'The Inhuman Torch' and more Season 7B info!

Quote
CraveOnline: But where is my fing-longer?

David X. Cohen: The fing-longer is coming back. You will be ecstatic to hear, again summer 2013, we have an episode called “The Inhuman Torch” where Bender becomes a heroic fire fighter. The professor will be using his fing-longer, which originally if you remember, it was just a crazy dream the professor had that someday he would create this invention, the fing-longer. But it exists now and it will be back next summer in real life. By real life I mean in the cartoon “Futurama.”

Quote
The third one is a military themed show. I’m just going to tell you the names of the three things. That will probably give it to you right there. The first one’s called “Bendy-Boo and the Mystery Crew.” The second one is called “Purpleberry Pond” and the third one is called “G.I. Zap.” So there you go. That title is worth 1000 words.

Quote
CraveOnline: What else can we expect in summer 2013?

David X. Cohen: Next year is a strong crop of episodes. Speaking of technology I should say, we have an episode written by one of our science background writers, Ken Keeler, that is inspired by 3D printing technology. We had a 3D printer around the office for this whole year and we were printing little plastic gizmos. It was running basically all the time producing this crowd of toxic plastic smoke so if anyone asks where we get our ideas now I say from the toxic plastic fog.

It actually was consuming so much of our time that Ken Keeler went and wrote an episode about it so there is another new technology inspiring an episode. We’ve got a big, epic, huge Fry and Leila episode that I mentioned that spans many years and much romance and a lot of crazy sci-fi stuff too that’s number 26.

More volume 7 spoilers:

Floyd Farnsworth may appear if more episodes get ordered.

Josh Weinstein did write a page explaining how Mars was fixed with rocket boosters (probably by the Wongs), but it was cut for time.

Most season 7A scripts ran 20 to 30 pages longer than T.V. time allows for, so tons of good stuff got cut from every show.

That's a real shame, and proof that the shorter running time has hurt the show. I almost think the writers are being too ambitious with their plots.

There is no live extras menu on Volume 7.
At least not on my BD.
Only Volumes 5 & 6 had that I believe.

And finally:

Bender will again brush his ass with Fry's toothbrush.. but instead Fry actually notices.
Leading to something wacky.

And a ton of stuff gets repeated from previous commentaries.. by everyone.

Yes.

Viva Mars Vegas has a funny little deleted scene where Leela suggests visiting her parents in the sewer to watch some rat show (or something). Amy quickly suggests visiting her parents on Mars instead.

Leela (whispering to Fry): And that's how you get invited to Mars Vegas!

So, in the commentary for "Zapp Dingbat", David X. Cohen mentions that the episode "Leela and the Genestalk" will reveal why Munda had arms in season 2 and tenticles in season 4.

Interesting.

This is a bit of a risky move if it's true.

Originally, Munda and Morris were made more severely mutated because they needed a contrast. Leela was barely considered mutated at all, other than her eye. (Unless royal violet hair is a product of mutation.) If Munda and Morris weren't very mutated, they could have tried to live on the surface themselves.

At the same time this is a very interesting concept for an episode. It could end up like the one where Leela is given a second eye surgically but ends up changing it back.

Mm, while re-watching 'the birdbot of ice-catraz'( i guess it was that ep.) I saw the professor using some kind of fingerlongener when he was pointing at the 6000 layers the ship has on an hologram... Look it up maybe? Can't take a screenshot right now, sorry:(
