Non-stupid answer to Tim B: Why, of course! It's just a name! Like The Death Zone or the Zone of No Return. all the zones have names like that in the Galaxy of Terror Simple substitution is for noobs: 5| ||-2-|5|4|!|\|\/\| ||`3!/4307| |82_47|6

Prof: It's a cryptogram game. Cryptogram, not Cryptography. Cryptograms only. If they're too boring for you, go find a cryptography forum or website instead. If you want to post more difficult kinds of puzzles here, you are welcome to as far as I'm concerned, but they should be independent of the ongoing crypgrams, not replacements for them, as most people don't have the knowledge, time, or interest to crack a harder puzzle. shinyass: We post cryptograms. You try to solve them. When you solve them, you post the solution and encrypt a new quote. Unlike most PEEL games, the correctness of an answer is immediately obvious, as it is unlikely in the extreme for two quotes from Futurama match the same cryptogram. As a result, you don't have to wait to be told you're right, you just post it as soon as you solve it, with a new quote. Makes the game move along a bit better than guessing games. For an explanation of how cryptograms work and some tips for solving them, check out the first post of the original Cryptogram thread. Near the top of every page is a link to my Handy Tool (the regulars mostly post the link themselves if they get a TOTP, but sometimes the link will be a few posts down). Just type or paste a quote into it and click "randomize" at the bottom and it will encode the cryptogram. Since there's not a cryptogram at the moment, I'll post one myself to get the game going again

Easiest cryptogram ever, but I got two minutes' worth of fun out of it at least. WHAT'S THAT? HEY! YOU PUT A ONE AND TWO ZEROS IN FRONT OF THAT OR WE PASS! DEAL!
SO WHAT DID YOU GET mE?
A THOUSAND AND ONE PESOS! BZEHNTAZI, YSOF TXGPTHBT PZ KZE ZVVTI FZ NEMMZIF FSGN HTY MATO ZV GHNOHGFK?
YTAA, VZI ZHT, FSTK PZHT SGITP QT FZ ITMITNTHF FSTQ. Saw that someone made a wikipeelia page about the cryptogram thread, and it reminded me that I had started to count up "points" in the first thread. I decided to finish tallying up the last 5 pages and posted the counts. If you're currious, check it out here. Not surprisingly, me and Jensor had by far the most, though I won by 3. Leandro, who I had almost forgotten about, was in third; he would've been #1, he was by far the best at cracking them that the thread has ever seen; he'd always get the ones that stumped me & jensor. Edit: just realised the someone was laptopmoerder, and he even said so in this thread but I missed it at the time.
