Here's some more fuel from the fire. However, this IS from Tv tome, and I don't really trust them after their last 'DXC is calling folks' rumour...

Futurama's Alert Status: Hopeful

We're rasing out Futurama Alert Status Level from "Praying" to "Hopeful" this week, after learning from producers of the show (which we won't name so they can't get in trouble) that there is a glimer of hope for the series. It's been revealed this week that there are several scripts laying in wait, as well as animatics and story boards which were left over from the last season at FOX. Like most shows, hopeful for renewal, the producers and writers will have material waiting so that if they ever return, they immediately have material to produce and get on the air as soon as they start. The news has seemed to come out at just the right time, now that sales of the 4th Season DVD are showing the series was quite popular.

We warn you, this does not mean anything "official" has been anounced. We got this info from people we trust after reading the Moviehole.com report. Obviously, since no other sources have backed it up, we had to check with people we know, and got our information. This does not mean the series is going to get renewed tomorrow. All we're saying is... it helps.

So, they claim to have checked with the producers. That's all nice and good, but simply having stuff left over from production doesn't mean too much, except that a potential restart is easier. It still needs an official go ahead.

Having left-overs doesn't make it any easier, or cheaper for Fox. Only for the producers.

All fox has to do is give it air-time, it wouldn't matter if 4 more seasons had already been made, it makes no difference to Fox.

The only way that this affects us, the fans, is that if the show somehow did get funding and air-time again, there might be less of a wait for the new episodes.

Also, i won't be evil and quote myself entirely, but please, you new fellas, check out my rant on the previous page. Don't get your hopes up, because they're more than likely going to be shot down again.

Chances of a Futurama revival are extremely slim, i'd say 0.1% at best, as much as i hate putting figures on these things.
We've tried petitions before, the first one having 150,000 (?) signatures on it, that had no effect on fox whatsoever.

That's because online petitions are stupid. No offense to everyone who put effort into the last one, but just think of how easy it is to get multiple hotmail accounts and sign the petition multiple times. FOX as much, as I personally don't like them, aren't stupid. They would know about this and take that into account. That's whw petitions don't do diddly squat.

Well actually you can look at the adress of the computer and delete ones that come from the same computer and send this evidence to Fox.

but even so While it can't hurt I really can't imagine there will ever be a case where an online petion convinces anyone.

Well, I read that; It's better to get info from the source (DXC) than some website noone has really heard of.

But still, its good to know that the DVD's are selling good.

Tactic 1:

Tactic 2:

Tactic 3:

>Get the religious right on your side. If enough people pitch in you can rent a few billboards and have posters saying: Jesus would want Futurama or similar on them. Alternatively advertise your petition in the Christian Science Monitor and give it a biblical undertone.

Tactic 5:

>Start blogs with a liberal stance and repeatedly state that the only good thing Fox ever did was to cancel Futurama. Claim that Michael Moore hates it and that Kerry wanted it banned from TV when he was a Senator. Also claim that President Bush loved Futurama ...Oh and don't forget to hire a lawyer

Tactic 6:

> Try to get people from the Army to sign your Petition and get soundbites and personalised endorsements from them (Something like: "The battle of Falludja was really hard, seeing my buddies being blown apart by terrorists and all, but then I thought of bender and that gave me the Courage to go on and to liberate bla blah bla.".) Then go public and name your campaign: Support our Troops! Bring back Futurama!

i believe the original petition had signatures numbering in the 10 thousands.

in other words, read this, all you new users who somehow find this thread and decide that it's worth digging it up from the graave: it's over. this petition is meaningless. deal with it.

I received an Email about a new site called "Bring Back Futurama!". Now, this site is very well done (Flash) and kinda heavy for Dial-up users (like myself). The person that did this,
Blinky, is trying to get as many names as possible, so you don't miss anything by going there (there's also a forum there)... I know, is a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooong shot (like any other way to help Futurama), but  I believe I can't stop helping to bring back Futurama  :)
