I figured out it was an original because I got it before 2009. Thanks for the help everyone. Can explain why golden bender is different from the other figures? I notice hes a little bigger and you cant change the eyes. Is the figure actually part of the series or was it made before the line started?

Toynami had taken over the Futurama license and must have wanted to rush an SDCC 2006 exclusive out to promote the return of the line in 2007. As such, with the molds in hand from the earlier Moore Action Collectibles (MAC) line, they just repainted that line's Bender as Golden Bender. They also basically reused the MAC mold for Fry. Don't know if that was also to save time (and/or money), as the Toynami Fry was in the very first wave they released a year later. But by the time it came to Leela and regular Bender, Toynami had new molds for these. Here's a good page for the release history: http://theinfosphere.org/Toynami_Futurama_Figures

I guess the toyline is dead now too!!!! Sadly, yes. Just posted on Toynami's Facebook page: Futurama fans: We just wanted to let you know that unfortunately we will not be moving forward with the Series 10 or Robot Mafia figures. We will however, still be coming out with great Futurama product, including the Futurama Tineez Series 2 in the summer and the Series 2 plush available in the next couple of weeks.
Also, stay tuned for some news on some exciting new products we have coming in the next few months that we can't wait to announce! There are already 18 comments in 4 hours, so if you want to tell Toynami what you think of this, for whatever it's worth or just to get it off your chest, now would be the time to make your voice heard there. Can't believe Toynami's has screwed us over again, by getting our hopes only to dash them once more. That said, I wonder if this is because of Futurama being cancelled or if they are just using that news today as a cover for their own dropping the ball again. They could be excused for now wanting to resurrect a toyline for a show that's just been cancelled. But if so why go ahead with Tineez, Plush and "other exciting new products". I blame all this spinoff Futurama merchandise, it's when they started making this crap that the main figure line went off the rails. Hope Destructor-Gender Bender still makes it out...

I'm guessing if he is dead, then they'd refund your money. EvilPDA. I don't really get the decision behind just bluntly cancelling the line. There are many ideas that they could use to go forward. I know it's not going to do anything, but I'd feel like a fool for not trying anything. So I sent them a message on facebook where I said the following
"Hi, I'm a big fan of your product. More specifically Futurama, and am saddened by the news that you are no longer producing the line. I think you should reconsider at least the figures that you already have sculpted as the demand is clearly there for them. Just look on sites like ebay and amazon, the prices are rocketing ever higher. You could also consider sites like kickstarter if funds are an issue. Or convention exclusives, producing the items in lower number but for a higher cost. The majority of buyers are adult collectors anyway so finding your market is fairly easy. You could also offer Universe 1 repaints of Bender, Amy, Hermes and Farnsworth to get extra funds. Not everything has to be sold in retail now, the internet is brimming with new ways to try new markets. Futurama is a solid license to test such grounds. Create an official website and sell them on there, there are thousands upon thousands of Futurama fans waiting to buy the products. Especially now that the show's status is so unknown. Fans are going to be ready to purchase a lot of merchandise to show their support for it.
Thanks for your time."
I urge you all to message them on facebook to show support for the line.

Q: No more new figures??
Toynami: Sorry, but for the time being we don't anticipate to be doing anymore Futurama figurines.
Q: Is the Talking Robot Devil dead too?
Toynami: Sorry, but yes.

Futurama Tineez Series 02 is the only thing confirmed for a release in July 2013. Eveything else is really up in the air.
They flat out said said no Series 10 (Morbo and Lrr) or Robot Mafia figures and no Talking Robot Devil.
SDCC Gender Bender (probably by himself now) and Tineez is all that is left... and crappy plush.
It's dead, and it's official.

Also, stay tuned for some news on some exciting new products we have coming in the next few months that we can't wait to announce! I think that last bit in Toynami's post has nothing to do with Futurama. In other words, they're winding down the Futurama license with the remaining Tineez and Plush (ugh) they've made, then that's it. "New products" are probably for other licenses. Still wonder where this leaves Destructor/Gender Bender, as seems strange to drop it after it's got as far as prototypes made, a boxed version on display at the convention and preorders. Maybe those of you have preordered it already, should send an enquiry to the sellers (Forbidden Planet) with a link to Toynami's message about no more figures, and ask them to clarify with distributor if product still going ahead.
