So I take it Orion isn't clearly seen? I don't know constellations very well.

Of course I hae the thrill of seeing the "Southern Cross" and "Magellanic Clouds" when I was in Africa. I didn't have access to a telescope then, just a pair of binoculars - it was great seeing them then as I probably won't ever see them again. As for BSG, I haven't been able to catch any eps of the new season. Let's hope that it doesn't become a ripoff of "Galactica 1980".

Or maybe thats how the series is supposed to end.. finding earth to be mutually destroyed over it I'm playing with an idea that some of the fleet will survive on different locations on earth and some of them will be remembered by future generations as Greek gods. Maybe chief Tyrol will go live in the mountains and discover lederhosen or something.

Damn! Awesome episode.
Those scenes between Tigh and Caprica Six were the most brilliant thing I've seen on TV in ages...

BTW: In the scene where the BaseStars appear when Cavil's fleet jumps in.. the Orion's belt can be seen in the background clearly.. that means they are really close to earth I read that (didnt see the episode) and the astronomer in me needed to know how far from Earth they could be and still see a recognizable Orion. Sorry man, got tired of sidescrollingthe image on the left is how the constellation would look if you got into a spaceship, pointed it 90 degrees on the sky (Orion is at RA = 5h or so, so I picked stars at RA = 23h and 11h) and flew 10 lightyears. The second one is fron 100 lightyears away. If you were to fly towards Orion from Earth, the constellation would become unrecognizable at about 50 ly from Earth. I didn't check the opposite direction, but the constellation is going to be recognizable from a very long ways away. The real trouble is that there arent any nebulae anywhere near our solar neighborhood. Actually, the nearest big one is in Orion itself. But yeah. Thats what I did with my Sunday evening. I mean, its not like Im supposed to be studying for exams or anything...

Javier bla,bla,bla -The raptor crash was the only hight point of the movie.. and for a while i trully tought Racetrack was dead.. how she could survive that crash?? RDM is smart enough not to kill 2 girls in a row. I bet he's still drowning in hatemail from the week before. Chief really stole the show at the end there. Seeing him snap was worth the time. I knew he still loved Boomer! OK episode, even if Baltar's getting more mushy-feely-preachy than a Hari Krishna Circle.

@SoylentOrange: In captain dummy-speak, please.
@Pitt: about halfway through the scene, I found myself saying, "Oh Chiefy, don't be trying to play hardball with The Adama. This will only bring tears." And then it did. Son, just because you beat him in boxing doesn't mean you're in his league.
@Javier: I'm more interested in how she managed to physically lift Baltar. Also, Racetrack was buckled up and wearing a helmet.

Adama just knows that Chief is extra unstable right now because of the incident. To him I'm sure he's seeing this whole thing as a cooling down peroid for Chief, and once his composure is back, he'll be shooting space cycles out of his little tubes again. What Adama doesn't realize is that he's a Cylon who's been thinking he's a human all this time, that he's still madly in love with Boomer and that his appernet frizzled behavior is really just the tip of the iceberg of a whole lot of deeper problems which will manifest themselves with some dark consequnces. Anybody play GTA: Vice City? Remember what happened to Lance? I think that's going to be Tyrol.

Oh no... they wasted another half episode with Baltar's crap.. ok.. he believes himself the new spiritual leader.. we get it.. there is no need to cut back to him every 10 minutes.. apart from that: -the series is going too slow for being a "last ride" season -No Adama (neither of them) in the ep.. is the first time Olmos dont appear..neither Roslin They killed Mathias!! YOU BASTARDS!!! -At least one BaseStar scaped cavil's ambush.. -Helo plan sounded complety ok..also ok are the motivations to rendezvous with the fleet now.. if they dont..they may be left behind -Curious how Athena is going more human than anyone -Next episode i guess we will have extra Roslin with:

I enjoyed this episode. We actually got some payoff. Also, Starbuck did the first sensible thing she's done all season.

I'm getting a little bit tired of the religious stuff, but hopefully it gets resolved somehow with the Cylons and Kara and all that...
Major Kira from DS9 made a cameo appearance, which was cool. Who and where was she?
