Just wondering if anybody's seen it, definitely check it out. It's by the same people who made Frisky Dingo.  Thursdays at 10 on FX

It's my favourite new show! At first glance it looks like a mash-up of Mad Men and The Venture Brothers but it's funnier than both of those shows. I hope more Adult Swim guys get to make real TV shows.

I don't like it.  Doesn't look too appealing to me.  If I want to watch something about a spy, I'll just go rent a James Bond movie.

Isn't James Bond a little too high profile to be an effective spy?

I was only able to watch a couple episodes in the first season but I just watched every single one on DVD and it makes a strong case for best show on TV.  New season starts the 27th at 10 (I think) and I hope it keeps up the flawless dialogue and makes it past two seasons.

The Mancy joke in "Skytanic" might be the greatest joke ever.

Yeah, i just finally sat down to watch Archer last night.  It effectively kicked me in the stomach with a laughter-inducing kick.  One of my new favorite current shows now.

I'm kind of glad the whole
I want this show to last as long as possible unlike Frisky Dingo.

Yeah I'm glad it only lasted two episodes. Though it did give us two of the best plots of the series so far in my opinion.

Krieger's backstory and "Terms of Enrampagement."

"What's cancer?" - :laff: Cheryl is awesome.

It is also laugh inducing any time I get to relevantly say "Just the tip?"

I should get the season 1 dvds at some point. Seeing how it is a fantastic show and I can see myself wanting to watch it over and over...and over.

I watched a few of these because my brother was watching it and I had nothing better to do. I didn't enjoy it, in fact by the third time I saw it I was like: Oh no, not this again :hmpf:...

Maybe, I just caught random eps. I don't think I could really get into it, but then again there have been other shows where I caught random eps and didn't like them, but years later I got into them...

That happened to me with Community. Although it had only been 2 years..

Sometimes it really is best to watch shows from the beginning. It may seem like they can be stand-alone, especially with an adult comedy animation, but the characters and the scene are generally set in the first episode, of anything, and the only way they can grow on you is if you grow with them...or something. :shifty:

This show is amazing (other than the two cancer episodes, those kind of made me cringe).

I love Cheryl/Carol/Cristal. The episode where they first see her mansion is awesome.

I watched the whole first season of this show on Netflix and moderately enjoyed it. I agree with Maz about needing to watch shows from the beginning to really get into them...I find there are very few shows I'll suddenly like just by watching a random episode.

Anyway I should probably download the later season/s (?) of this show.

It's... an hilarious fusion of office comedy and James Bond satire, filled with free-flowing nonstop riotous dialogue, brutal violence, and has three of the stars of Arrested Development in it. How could you not like?

It took me a while to get into Archer, but by the end of it, I was glad I'd made the effort. It was pretty much how I felt about Arrested Development (although Archer isn't close to being THAT good).

I don't think particularly much of James Bond though. Some of the films are okay despite being stupid, some are terrible -that is, based on what I've seen.

The Connery ones are brilliant. The Moore ones are deliberately hilarious. The Brosnan ones are solid. The other two guys were alright. The new fellow is excellent.

Dalton was an okay Bond, but his two films were bad. Lazenby was only in one, but it was a good one (the only one where Bond gets married...and then she gets killed at the end! DRAMAAAAA).

Moore will always be my favorite.

The thing about the Bond movies is that (especially with the Moore ones, like Coldy said) they're for the most part deliberately cheesy. The stories aren't meant to be taken seriously and are simply there to serve the over-the-top action, which is (in most of them) done excellently. They're perfect examples of films knowing what they are and not trying to be something they're not.

The exception of course is the new films with Daniel Craig, who I agree is excellent. I think they did a great job of downplaying the cheese and actually trying to create stories you can get invested in. They're certainly not perfect films, but I enjoyed both of them (even though a lot of people didn't like the second).

Oh wait...this isn't the Bond thread. My bad.

Dalton was an okay Bond, but his two films were bad.

They were okay. They were the first attempt to bring the films back to the gritty realism of the novels, and only failed on account of film-making techniques of the 80s.
And A-Ha's theme song from The Living Daylights? Best Bond theme except for A View to a Kill.

They are the second and more successful attempt at properly representing the style of the novels.

Better than Nobody Does It Better (from The Spy Who Loved Me) and Live And Let Die? If you say so.

I also love Chris Cornell's song You Know My Name from Casino Royale.
