The 4 Futurama Movies Speculation Thread (Possible spoilers)

I'm going to come out sounding brash since I am sick and I don't care much about my writing right now than getting this out but one, none of us have seen the trailer, two, the Comic Con panel already announced there'd be some kissing between Fry and Leela, and three, "Into the Wild Green Yonder" is supposed to include the scene with every single character that's ever appeared in the series.

And all of these things are awesome in one way or another.

I don't know about anyone else but I suspect that the number 9 man will have something to do with bringing Fry back to life or something along those lines.

If that's true it'd be fitting for him to be voiced by Penn Jillette...which again, I suspect might be the case.

Or is it just me?

It could well do. I'm not saying that this will happen though, just that it wouldn't surprise me.

I mean Yivo had the power to bring people back to life...what's to say a sinister looking man with a large '9' on his shirt can't?

Also as I've mentioned before I've got a sneaking suspicion that he'll be the character Penn Jillette voices and with Penn being a magician it could well end up being one of those subtle references that the writers sometimes sneak in.

Of course this is total speculation and I don't have anything to base this on...but I don't think it's too implausible.

David Cohen clearly stated that the 4th movie would bring a satisfactory ending to the show (supposing Box's morons would cancel it again) but also said it would be open for more adventures.

Looking over BWABB again I hope they get Amy and Kif squared away as well as Fry/Leela. Then only voice I can make out in the massive argument is Amy's "Its not my fault, I though you were dead". I really want to know what Fry or Leela are saying but its too damn jumbled!

So, maybe Fry won't die in the fourth movie.  If he does, here's some possibilities:

He'll be dead, and come back as an angel and take Leela into heaven with him and being her back.

He'll die temporarly and come back to life.

Fry will die and another Fry from BBS will come.

I will stab people if they try and pull a stunt like that. I'm not too worried though, I think you have to pass  TIME TRAVEL IS NOT THE FIXIT BUTTON: TT4E05 in order to be a Futurama writer. No writer in the history of Star Trek has ever passed this course. (actually TOS did the best in that respect)

BBS was acceptable as time travel because it wasn't used to "fix" something. Retro-actively using it as a problem solution would earn worlds of hate for both it and ITWGY.

Fry will come back to life in a similar way that Kif did in BWABB probably though who brings him back to life (and how) is going to be the real mystery and one we're going to have to wait to find out. I suspect the Number 9 man might have something to do with it.

And I wouldn't worry about another Fry left over from BBS taking his place...I'm pretty sure there were none left over and the now deceased Lars was the only duplicate created.

Overall, though, "Wild Green Yonder" seems to follow a theme of "big battle between us and them"...but "they" aren't identified, so the details aren't clear.  Along the way, it looks like some of the ladies (Leela, Amy, and Hermes' wife) form their own group...

...real epic sci-fi story that involves this ancient battle that's been going on for billions of years and our crew, of course, ends up in the middle of that.

Here it is my crack theory. Maybe the "epic" battle is between men and women; this would explain why the girls are forming their own group...
But I really don't like this scenario. I'd prefer to have them battle against the Brainspawn or something like that.

Of course, just my two cents.

So his origin is explained partially in the Flight to Remember commentary? I'll have to give that a listen if so as I usually don't bother listening to the commentaries.

I don't think the epic battle is going to be men vs women.   Probably some aliens like the Brainspawn or the Omicrons.   Maybe the reason the girls form their own group is because they'll have to form into groups.   Maybe Bender will team up with some robots or something like that.

According to imdb, "Bender's Game" has already been leaked several times (apparently today) and numerous times has it been posted and already removed from YouTube by Fox. For a company that is quick on the trigger to report any leaked material on YouTube, it sure can't get its act together as far as getting the official website on its merchandise up in time for the release (and in the movie world, the official website is pretty important to sale numbers).

I already saw the movie. It was great till the LOTR part... then it kind felt like I was watching an episode of Family Guy. Bleh!

So 4th Futurama comes in February 23rd... Cohen says about great battle... The 23rd of February is aholiday in my country: The day of native land's defender.
It's gonna be a great battle, for Futurama also...

Well thats three down, one to go.

Loved Benders Game, really did. But it just served to drive my mild insanity over ITWGY to new heights.

It looks like Leela is headed for a full scale mental breakdown if that ITWGY trailer bit is true.

Plenty of laugh out loud parts, but didn't care for them making a punching bag (so to speak) out of Leela with that shock collar. Her fight scenes were EPIC! Loved the film, all 88 minutes of it!

It just seems like Leela reverted to total psychotic, but If they do ITWGY right it could fit in so well. Fry "dies"  Leela jumps off the deep end, Fry comes back in time to save the day! (and more importantly her)

Actually I really did like the shock collar. It showed how angry she is, showed what everyone else though of her anger, and when she was getting chewed out by the professor that must have been exactly how she looked at the orphanarium, you can see Fry so concerned, Amy just looking away, Leela completely collapsed into herself.

Wish I knew what happened between bender bringing everyone home and then, because something has Leela worse than shes ever been.

Yeah, I guess it's just me. I just flat-out don't like seeing Leela being hurt, mentally, or physically.

Fry didn't look too concerned to me. I noticed he kinda just stood and watched like the others. Okay, maybe he did a little bit, in the cave scene.

AS for Leela being "psychotic", she's always had a violent temper, a point she mentioned in Less Than Hero.  I don't know if the last DVD will reference the previous DVD's, but she's lost the man she loved, found out he was Fry, lost Fry to a cheap floozy and we expect her to deal with it with silent meditation?  She's batshit insane on a good day, it's part of her coping mechinism.

But...  Fry and Bender have been a doulbe-edge sword in her life - both aggravate her to the ends of her limited sanity but she loves both of them, they're the only true friends she's ever had.  Losing Bender would be bearable because he's closer to Fry than she is, but to lose Fry...  I'm sure that would really make her go off the deep end.
