Don't trust wikipedia.

Also I was wondering, did everyone get the same post cards in Benders Game?

If I have the chance, I'll take a pic of my 3d covers. Benders game is annoying coz they forgot to remove the PG thing from it.

Well, I've seen the trailer of ITWGY, and I've gotta say, the movie looks really good!  :)

However, the "Fry being dead" scene scared the heck outta me though, because Fry is my favorite character and I really don't wanna see him dead.   *shudders at the thought*

But of course, I know that Fry is the main character.  So even if he does die in the movie, they will definitely bring him back to life somehow.  Just like in "Love and Rocket", when Fry gives Leela his oxygen, but then he becomes unconscious for a while.

yer thts why curious george but fry gets so upset that he can read peoples minds he runs away from the team as he thinks leela will always hate him and wishing he was back in the yr 2000 because all his friends hate him but they all love him at the end especially leela.
Awww, I really hope that what this guy was saying about the movie is true.

Because I always love scenes like that, when Fry is all emotional and wishing he was back in the year 2000.   (that's why Bender's Big Score is my favorite Futurama movie)

But anyway, just so everyone knows, my favorite aspect of Fry's personality is his heroism.  I love it when Fry gets to do something heroic!!  But to be honest, it doesn't seem as though ITWGY will have any heroic-Fry scenes in it (unless he gets to fight the Brawinspawn again).

That would be so awesome if Fry gets to fight the Brainspawn!!!!  =D

Oh, by the way, on the subject of that guy's summary being true or false, I have to agree with Curious Gorge.  This summary sounded like it could be completely legit!  And I really hope it's true!  ^_^

Although, it could just be wishful thinking on my part, due to the fact that I'm a HUGE fan of Fry.  And, I always enjoy seeing time-travel in Futurama, whenever it's part of the story.  So yeah, if this guy's summary was indeed accurate, then I'm really gonna love ITWGY!!  :D

And even if that summary is fake, oh well.  I'm sure I'll love Into The Wild Green Yonder anyway.  And, I know this movie will most likely be Fry-centered, because in my opinion, the other movies didn't have much to do with him.  I mean, the only movie which was really about Fry was Bender's Big Score.  But even then, he sorta shared the spotlight along with Bender (which was fine of course and it worked very well for the movie itself).  So anyway, as a huge fan of Fry, I'm longing to see something along the lines of "The Why of Fry".  And I think it would be very nice if we got to see something from that plot used in the upcoming movie.

Where the hell did all these new fake accounts come from?

Winna?  tnuk?  Yardstick?

Anyway, in two short months we'll have the answer to all the questions except:

Will Futurama die at this point or will it once again be revived?

Hey! I don't do that anymore. Although I wish I'd glanced here earlier on. I could use a good ol' fashioned trollslaying.

I've just rewatched the trailer of ITWGY.

They seem to be on Mars. But what are the Wongs building? And what about the other people who are lying dead behind the crew?

Just had a thought, could the corpses in the background be members of the feminist group that Leela and Amy end up joining? With the pink attire and presence at the construction site they're against it would make sense.

I guess this is as good a thread as any to place this:

The last Futurama DVD is being released soon.  There is no word from any sources if this is really "The End" or if somehow the PE gang survives and manages to make more episodes/DVDs/Theatrical Releases.

I personally don't see a Theatrical Release - the DVDs may have sold well and there is a large and loyal group of fans but I don't think that our numbers are large enough to warrent a Theatrical Release.

As harsh as I've been on the Direct To DVDs, my wife has loved all of them and I'm sure that others feel the same way.  There is one thing that most fans, the reviewers and I have in common:  The 88 minute format doesn't seem to work well with Futurama.  How much of that feeling is affected by the way the DVDs are presented so that four 22 minute episodes can be hacked out is something I can't answer but it is a definite contributing factor to the uneven flow of the movies.

I do hope we get another 1-3 seasons of Futurama but I would prefer that they go back to the 22 minute episode format or make several 88 minute movies and not be hampered with the idea of having to hack the movies up into 4 episodes.  If FOX or CC wants to run the movies in 30 minute blcoks on TV, then they can get to the 22 minute mark, have a cliff-hanger and place a "To Be Continued" sign at the end of 30 minutes.

Of the three released so far, I liked Bender's Game the best.  It wasn't overly complicated, was action packed and concentrated on Leela's temper and insane competitive streak.

Since -mArc- has now seen all four DVDs, I'd like to ask him which of the four is his favorite.  Since he owns this forum, I really would like to know what he thinks about the DVDs and if he feels that we may see Fry, Leela, Bender and the gang on our TVs with new episodes or DVDs in the future.

Regarding Ralph Snart's post above, I do agree with him that Futurama doesn't have the fanbase for a theatrical film. The Simpsons did well in theathers because A) it's been on for a "million-billion" years, B) its remained popular for a "million-billion" years, which therefore leads to C) its a pop culture icon that will remain with us for decades with other great cartoons, perhaps comparing to the mouse and bunny and D) everybody, young and old, knows of The Simpsons (people know the Simpsons better than their rights). Futurama hasn't been on for that long, doesn't have the ginormous fanbase that the Simpsons has garnered over the years, and still isn't known by everybody (even though that may be hard to conceive for us diehard fans).

I really just wanted to make this post to publicize this observation. All four movies are cut up into four individual episodes each so then they could be aired separately. It is unamious that the movies have failed because of their choppiness, which is for accommodating a plotline for each of the four acts. If the movies were made to stand as individual episodes, then why does Comedy Central still air all four portions of the movie together? I have yet to seen any of the episodes air individually...

Sorry for my ranting and any incorrect grammar- I'm freaking tired.

My last information regarding "more Futurama" is three weeks old and rather unspectacular: "no news to report yet either way". Back to normal business for Futurama.

Regarding the movies: It is hard for me to put the movies in an order. I can safely say that BwaBB is not my favorite. With the other three, it's pretty much a tie for me with Bender's Big Score being the most theatrically feeling one (and the only one I've shown to non-Futurama fans) and ItWGY probably the one with the least pacing and funniness fluctuations.

In my eyes, Futurama works best at 22 minutes per episode. At 88 minutes in four parts, it's just not possible to have the "short setup, fast-paced main plot & short resolution" structure that made some of the more "epic" episodes from the original run great. Maybe 60 minute long movies without the partitioning would have worked better.

However, I do not think that any of the movies are bad. I'm happy that they got some financing for the movies (it was much less than what they had for 16 episodes of a normal season as far as I understand) and turned it into entertainment for us.

Although I agree completely, the final movie is a real return to the feel of the show IMHO, and I'd be quite happy for them to continue like this now that they seem to have finally made the 88-minute format sort-of work for them. I mean, a new season would be great, but more movies would be totally acceptable.

I kinda thought that this was when Fry got the piece of necklace stuck in his head n some bizarre accident, leaving other dead people behind, and therefore he would be 'temporarily' dead. And dr zoidberg is a terrible doctor isn't he? :hmpf:
Actually, forget all that, I reckon that dead fry was a secret time duplicate from BBS :hmpf:
