A: More esoteric programming languages like C++--++, SanFrancisco-Lisp and JumboJava went out of style around the mid-25th century. The reason was that a software component for pretty much any conceivable type of operation had already been constructed by the software developers of the previous 500 years. As a result, new software was simply an amalgamation of these components. Soon, most software developers lost their jobs because interoperability was so good, and because the average public was able to program their own robots and holo-utilities, because of all of the conveniences made for programming. Of course, the general public knew very little about advanced programming techniques, so BASIC was an ideal language for them to adopt. Soon, the tide swept out all the professional programmers, and left an entire population of BASIC-programming laypeople. Since then, all other languages became obsolete(ly fabulous). Of course, this all resulted in a lot of bad software, despite the base of good software components to work with. (Bender's personality software is a good example of this.)
