Thanks again guys! :) I've been practicing animation too, and I have this rough little short here... Frame by frame is fun! I want to do something for Leela next, and Shego!

Ahh, the Type Three glasses push. Classy. :)

I refrained from commenting earlier when I viewed your Leela piece but now I shall! It's great seeing you back with some new stuff! Darn good as usual and you've even boldly tried animation. I need to crack the self-whip and do my own. You'd think I would have done something by now since I'm going for that field currently. You animation is pretty smooth and consistent, especially for someone so new to the medium. Shows much promise, your animation does.

Thank you Xanfor, Tachyon and Professor Zoidy! I'm currently dabbling between 3D animation, Flash animation and 2D (similar to that Daria thing xD). I really enjoy seeing drawings come to life, so I'd suggest just grabbing a tablet, photoshop and going for it! It's so much fun. ^__^

Freako, I continue to laugh at that being your first (and only) comment on the picture.

You can do traditional 2D animation in Flash... you can set onion skins which helps too.

I hate Flash for drawing, so I need to work on that.

You're quite welcome. I disliked using Flash myself. I ended up with cheap-ass animation with it. I do not care for such a ''computerized" quality of animation that equated to little more than me moving something across the screen which could be done with my finger, paper, and a background IRL. Lame results for a lot of time spent. I prefer pencil and paper or PS/ digital paper. Granted I was using a version so old it was still Macromedia Flash and not Adobe... :/

Still though, more traditional things will yield more fluid and traditional results. You just stick to what you find a groove in Demeter. :)

Well I prefer Disney fluidity and time consuming to the computerized precision. I'm sure if I learned to use it more precisely, I'd be happier with it but eh. I totally agree with sticking to what you like! :)

I'd say lose that line on her nose, the horizontal one. it makes it look silly.

It's lovely! ^_^

Personally, if I count the eyes as the middle of her head, the nose is proportional (aka ends halfway between the eyes and chin). I need to try my hand at something like this really. I'm so shy when it comes to drawing somewhat realistic stuff.

Thanks everyone!  I've been playing around with my personal style for years now, and it's weird how quickly I settled into this one. I'm glad the response is mostly positive. As for the nose being too long, I blame that partially on my personal preference on face proportions, plus the angle of her head...

Although PZ actually offered a more legitimate excuse reason.

And you should draw sparkly things Morgan!

Dedicating tonight to animating something short with Leela, and a reaction. This should be fun!

Still needs cleaning up, and a lot of correction but basically what's happening....

Hermes: And for our favorite space ship captain, we bought you this lovely bouquet of flowers. That I found in the garbage.
Leela: Aww, how sweet.
Fry: Awww, they remembered my birthday.

Yes but on the show they'd redraw every frame.

So that's not what I meant.

It's all a little faster due to being half the size of the original file, but I did struggle with the walk cycle. I'm tweaking it now, extending bits, adding mouth movements, etc. I just figured I wouldn't post again until I've coloured it. As for not redrawing each frame, that was because I needed to work out where he needed to be first. Now I have an idea, I'll be redrawing each frame. ^^

tl;dr version: Excuse me while I suck a lot before I kick ass.

And thanks Danny. I'm clearly still working out kinks, but I'm glad you like it. xD

As an idea, I put in the random background-ish screenshot. I'm still working on what background to have.

Fry is carrying a box of... lens I think. Why not! Thanks again guys!

Very good, looking authentic but Leela's lips are a little too thick.
Other than that you could really fool people.

I would suggest we collaborate but really who'd be able to tell the difference?

I also think the lines in general are a tad too thick, but I've done about 11 frames this width so it doesn't matter too much. I'm doing a lot more in-betweening too, as it's not QUITE fluid enough. It's currently 30 frames, but will probably be like 60 when I'm done.

As for a collab, I was actually thinking the exact same thing! Wouldn't it be fun to confuse people with who did what?

You could pass the right one off as some kinda uh, abstract art.
Very improved though.

Incidentally my favourite artist is Picasso.

It's too crap to be abstract. :P

Just saved this to put up - clearly still reworking the walk cycle a LOT and still drawing Leela's frames. And Fry's talking-face.

Awesomeness to the max, but don't you need to edit Fry and Leela out of the background? The Professor and Bender could stay, but it looks silly with 4 Fry and Leelas. Unless that little scene you've made takes place during 'Rebirth'.

It was just a place-holder until I could find a better background. It's still a little choppy, but for a second attempt at animation, I'm pretty happy! :) Still a little fast though... Ugh.
