Greets, all.

With the latest General Art thread becoming locked, I thought I'd start a new thread for my scribblings. Let us start with a new piece, done merely a few hours ago. A first sketch, with many things to correct. From Archonix's fic Parallel Lives, could this be part of the final scene? A showdown, if you will?

Note that I have no idea how Archonix will end his story. This is complete speculation...

Jeez, I am still reading it. Personally I think Fry will find a way to ask Evila not to shoot...
Good Drawing.

To be honest, even I don't know quite how it will end and I'm the one writing it. Or perhaps I'm just channelling it from a parallel dimension...

Anyhoo, anything that is a picture of it is fine by me. And since it's you, El Man, it's even better. :D

Oh no, there is only one way this can end - Leela-A and Evila have a fight to the death.

Agreed.  And hopefully that's not in the 'conventional' sense. :D

Uhm... which?   Er, fight or death, that is.
I'll just... ooze back out under the door now...

Well, he said 'have a fight', but I read it as "mudwrestle". And by 'to the death', I take it Ralph means "in their underpants". True, neither of those elements are really in El-Man's pic _yet_, but it's a work in progress...

...I'm fooling no one but myself, am I? But I don't really need to - great looking first sketch El-Man, looking forward greatly to seeing the next stage of it :)

Yeah, they could do that... or something... else...

but death fight is pretty hot good too!

Great pic!

Whenever the final epic battle does go off (many many chapters and great universes down the road of course!) I kinda hope Fry gets the last round off... hes gotta speak up for all those other universe him's that were killed, and all the other universe him's that have a happy future worth protecting!

Great picture of Leela and Evila fighting! Any more pieces you'll be adding to your gallery soon?

Actually, several months ago when Arch was solidifying how he was going to take the story and for how long, I kinda wrote a chapter where Leela had been overpowered by Evila and was in a dangerous position.  It was Fry who found and rescued Leela.  I doubt if Arch even remembers the nugget of an idea but it was a way for Leela to lose a battle (and damage her self-confidence) and for Fry to show that he's not useless dead weight.

Anyway Arch does his story, everybody knows it's going to be good.  And with Arch throwing in a piece of art and El also doing a piece of art here and there, it will end up being as good as any of Coldangel's Graphic Novels.

Not at the moment (well, pieces that can be shown here...  :flirt: ). I'll try to get this one polished a little more soon, as everyone seems to like it. I was thinking of lowering the hands in the front of the picture down a little, and drawing a wounded Fry in the gap.

This isn't strictly Futurama, but it's close enough.

A little explanation first. I'm participating in a 'Secret Santa' this year. Which means, everyone picks names out of a hat, and you get the person you picked a present, which remains anonymous. I managed to pick a young lady who is only five years old. And I had no idea what to get her - so I thought 'draw something!'. I doubt she knows about Futurama, but I confirmed with her parents that she does like The Simpsons, and this was the result. She's getting a carefully-packaged colour laserprint of this, and I will give her parents a high-res JPG as well.

BTW - Lisa was rather difficult to do - you'd think not, with such a simple design... but her hair was a pain to get right. Thank goodness for Photoshop, as I messed the inking up...

Understatement of the year. It took me nearly two years of practice to get that hair right. So this is the picture you were talking about the other day? Nice. :)

Lisa is a pain. I even checked out the Simpsons Handbook that was recently published. The basis for her head.... blows my mind. What a cute idea for a gift though. :D

What software do you use to do it?

Drawn using a pencil, inked with a black 0.5 Uni Pin fine line marker, then scanned, corrected, and coloured using Photoshop.

Her parents were more impressed by the picture than she was. She's only five. :D

Thanks for the nice comments, all. I am working on more stuff, but life takes priority, after all...

I'd forgotten that I said I would do a bigger version of this. Slight update as well, removing the 'entrez' text that was down the bottom.

This was a request from the Offtopic Section. My 'Shadow Leela' wallpaper, edited for widescreen monitors, 16:10 ratio, 1680x1050 pixel size. I also made a couple of changes which had been bugging me for ages.

Isn't that always the case? You post a piece of art to a board, go away for a few days, look at it again, and go 'Oh, @#$&!' because you missed something obvious...

Looks sweet - though the black splodge on the dark-grey background by her left breast stand out a bit. Otherwise - very cool! :)

I know that all too well! :p
Often I work best at night, then like to post what I've done before I go to sleep. Then, due to the time difference, I think that most of the Western Hemisphere will be most active while I am asleep so I can wake up to hopefully a nice array of comments. Only I was inevitably in such a rush and/or was so tired the night before that I look at my work and go "Christ, what was I thinking with that nose/arm/eye/angle/detail/gun/everything!"

If you notice, Evila has a gun.  Kinda lopsided violence, if you ask me.

Perfect symmetry, Freako? Nope. No PShop mirroring here. Both Evila and Leela were drawn separately.

You both realize I'm just quoting Futurama, like I always do, usually in relation to the situation, (that could be some kind of song) but it doesn't have to be 100% accurate.

I don't know why you took me seriously.
