I watched the episode last night while doing my Art Project.
I wasn't paying full attention, but holy shit it was great. Laughed out loud quite a bit, and had a great story as well. Definitely the best one of the season by a mile. South Park's uphill swing is really starting to surprise me. I thought the series was going to turn into total garbage after that premiere episode, and Season 16. But damn it, I was wrong. I really liked "Ginger Cow", it felt like a Season 1-3 kind of episode, which is always welcome to me. And sure as hell beats anything else the past season had to offer until this episode. I hope they don't fall now. I truly think they're beginning to get back into the groove of things. Slowly, but I definitely see the progress coming along now.

I...actually really liked the episode. I can't believe I just said that, considering that I've been pretty critical of Season 17 thus far.
It had a good plot and a good subplot, and the jokes were funny too. This is probably my favorite Season 17 episode so far.

Easily the best episode since season 15, if not 14. I haven't seen Game of Thrones, but I still got almost all of the Game of Thrones jokes as far as I can tell. Nothing seemed lost on me. It was a good, solid storyline that worked in every way that South Park does at its best and I look forwards to part 2. I think it's safe to say South Park is back in the groove again.
I don't know about that. It's one episode and, whilst I expect part 2 to be every bit as good, this is clearly one of the episodes that they've been planning for months and months. It's always very clear when they put a lot of extra time and care into an episode, these days.

If you were familiar with a Game of Thrones QNF you would have loved the last 2 episodes. The Stick of Truth had the exact same ending that season one of a Game of Thrones had and the Song of Ass and Fire had the exact same ending of season 2 of a Game of Thrones. Plus in the latest episode there were tons of jokes related to the books and show. For example when JRR Martin said that 2 pizzas were coming and then said 5 is based of GRR taking a long time of writing new books and finishing the story. The 1st book came out about 20 years ago. I actually kind of agree with Cyber-T on this one. Although it wasn't as strong as the first one, it was still pretty good. I kept asking myself when the story was going to advance. It did a little bit, but it completely felt like filler, especially with the GOT weiner jokes, and the Anime Princess Kenny thing (Which I found hilarious).
But it was good, I'll probably give it a 8/10 for now

All of South Park's three part episodes have had filler-heavy second installments. Matt and Trey don't do this very often, so they haven't quite worked out exactly how to keep all the balls in the air while still moving the plot forward. It was still fucking hilarious though, and I'm really, really looking forward to part three. Also, did anyone else absolutely lose their shit at the Princess Kenny bit, or was it just me?

Thanksgiving?
Thanksgivannukah? Anyway, I don't see why they wouldn't air the episode just because it's Thanksgivannukah.

Pretty much every tv show is taking a break that week. I can't imagine it'd be good for ratings (not to mention the whole "giving the South Park employees some time off around the holidays" thing). Remember Matt and Trey basically had an extra week to make these last few episodes.
Actually, they were always scheduled to take two breaks during the course of this season (the second one being Thanksgiving), but the power outage only changed which week they took their first one on. The only episodes they really had an extra week to work on were Goth Kids 3 and Taming Strange. "Mysterion Rises" and "Imaginationland Episode II" were my favourite episodes of their respective trilogies, though.
You're the first person I know who's said that. I love every moment of both of those trilogies, but there's no doubt that the second installment of each was the most filler-heavy.

I enjoyed Part 2 just as much as Part 1, if not a little more. Once again, the jokes were funny (although the weiner jokes did get old after a while), and the plot was good.

The Cartman/Kyle hatred took off in early season 7. Scott Tenorman is most certainly a huge turning point for Cartman's character. He goes from ignorant asshole to evil mastermind.... I also love that episode's plot in general. It's very Shakespearean.

Pretty much. It's definitely one of the show's most significant/notable episodes, so you should try to see it if possible (despite already having ruined the super-fucked-up ending for yourself ).

I just watched it on youtube and....wow. Um....can I just? Wow. Even though I knew the ending, I didn't realize Eric sent them to their death and it was very dark. I almost felt guilty laughing. I feel guilty because I kind of...I kind of liked that episode. It was really fucked up and really insane and really dark, but I don't even...I'm like kind of speechless right now. Kind of speechless.
