Police Story
Bruce Lee really impressed me with his performance! No wonder they call him the Muscles from Brussels!

A

Beetlejuice
Like a lot of acclaimed comedies, I think I was a bit disappointed. But maybe my standards are just exceptionally high. Yeah, that's it.

What the... according to the credits, that was Alec Baldwin! I didn't even recognise him without his chins!

I recognised Geena Davis, though. Even without her pouty lips.

B

Pineapple Express
I liked it. Deceptive title, too. I love deception! How did they know!?

I would also say it was a very quotable movie, but, funny thing, I can't remember any quotes! I kind of shot of myself in the foot there, didn't I? WELL IT'S NOT LIKE THERE'S SOME MAGICAL KEYSTROKE THAT CAN ERASE MY MISTAKES AND ENABLE ME TO REASSESS MY POST IS THERE.

I really like Woody Allen in general, but wasn't excited to see this movie (a friend talked me into it), so it may have affected my view. This movie plays much like the title suggests,  complete with bone-dry narration (which was a major gripe for me). It gave the entire film a 'tongue-in-cheek' feel that I believe was intentional as it spun out the plot. Truth be told, the plot revolved around what I thought to be very two-dimensional characters and I came away with little empathy towards them.
The subject of relationships is certainly nothing new for Allen (and this movie was nothing new for him either), but despite the somewhat interesting material and a few "plot twists" it all seemed flat and almost parodied to me. I still love Scarlett Johannson but was not impressed by any of the leads excepting Penelope Cruz(). Then again, concurrent with the deadpan narration and tone of the movie, the unspectacular portrayals may have been exactly what Allen was asking for...
C, it was still one of the best new films this summer from what I have seen

Umm, there wasn't a much naked as I would have liked... All 3 of the female main chars were attractive (I thought), so it would have greatly enhanced the film to have a lot more nudity.

Are they making movies about calling phone company services now? Sounds rivetting!

In Bruges

Really really good, got to be quite a bit heavier than i expected. Also quite a bit more gory too. Some great lines and great scenes. Highly recommended.

Tropic Thunder
I had no idea that was Bea Arthur until the very end! Amazing that she can still pull it off after all of the controversy!

The rest of it was pretty great, as well. One complaint: they kept using the term "White Offensive", but I think that they missed a great opportunity to pun it into the arguments with Robert Downey and the Fresh Prince guy. I mean, "white"....? ..."Offensive"? Come on! YOU LOSE, HOLLYWOOD SCREENWRITERS AND THEIR STARVING FAMILIES.

I sort of also agree with those individuals who said that Jack Black's character grated on their nerves, but it didn't seem that irksome to me.

A

EDIT: Extra points for the second best "giant panda midnight attack scene" in a mainstream film in quite some time. :)

EDIT 2: Who is this slightly overweight Danny McBride guy? This is the second film I've seen this week with him in it... I hate it when things happen chronologically like that! So many things in my life do!

Disaster Movie
I went to see it with a friend just so we could make fun of it. It was so horrible that we left 20 minutes in, knowing that this was indeed the worst movie we have ever seen.

No he didn't.  For (presumably) paying to see it, he was propagating the system whereby these tardmunchers are allowed to keep making their cinematic vomit.  What he deserves is to be forced to swallow the film, pull the end out of his ass and floss himself to death.

The Mummy 3

...ugh

D

The experience was made slightly more enjoyable by saying "MAKE OUT!" or "THREESOME" at inappropriate moments... (but then again, this improves ALL movies) Also, Not-Rachel Weiss sucks balls and not in the good way.

It was great up until the end. I hate unresolved endings! Especially when the rest of the movie is pretty straightforward.

But the plot and idea was really awesome.

I watched Jackass the movie 2 last night. was ok. I screemed at the gross scenes and laughing my ass off where they got knocked over by a bunch of bulls. The terrorist  scene with the hair genitals was the best.

Tropic Thunder

Yeah ... I expected alot more from this. Pretty disappointing.

The opening titles almost had me tricked though. And didn't peg the cameo until the "Dance" thing which I'd heard so much gossip about, and then couldn't stop seeing him in the character. Distracting!

Pretty weak.

I saw a preview for another movie, and have been thinking about THAT instead ever since instead of the movie I *paid* to see
