Beautiful.

Man, that's good television.

Locke's life pre-crash just gets shittier and shittier. I was wondering how they were going to explain his recent odd behaviour and they did it beautifully.

Also, the obligatory WTF WTF WTF at the ending. Sawyer may get to read his letter after all  :D

WTH!

The Show is suddenly moving forward.

That Ben sure is one sneaky bastard.

What made me wonder though, why did they need a submarine to get off the island?
Wouldn't a normal boat do? And unless I have missed something, they still have Desmond's boat. Unless there is something that prevents people from leaving the island over the water. And that would raise the question where Michael and Walt went to.

Also, we now know where Locke's favorite statemnt came from.  :p

I think Des couldn't sail away because he had only a compass which the magnetic anomaly screwed up and turned him around (also, he was drujnk) but if he knew that there was magnetic weirdness in the hatch ("my fillings hurt" ) I dunno why he just didn't try and sail straight without the compass...
Also, he didn't know about bearing 314 like Michael and the Others.

Other theory: Truman Show-like megadome surrounds the island and you need the sub to go under it!  :p

What statement were you referring to?

Perhaps, but Ben said that without the sub there would be no hope for those who are not willing to stay on the island indefinitely.
Which won't make sense, since they did capture Desmond's boat.

You really shouldn't watch The Truman show that often.

Besides, the door was above the water. Pwned!  :p

Ah yes.
Maybe some Others joyriders crashed the boat already, or they only use to go out into international waters to gamble and marry their cousins (there can't be that many of them on the island  :p )

Fucking Locke.

Jack totally wants to punch him in the face.

That moment between Jack and Kate was sad...

Sawyer may get to read his letter?

Who's the man from Tahoma was it? Dr Hotbutt from scrubs?

Also, again, i'm confused, are Ben, Tom et al Dharma people or others? Dr. Hotbutt drafted juliet not that long ago, and they are still getting plenty of Dharma brand supplies, yet eye patch said they weren't...

Tallahassee, the man from Tallahassee, could that be Lockes dad? That Ben told Richard (heh, make-up boy) to get when Locke was in the closet?

James "Sawyer" Ford will only read his letter to the guy who conned his family, and made his dad commit murder suicide (killed his mom), the theory is, that the same guy is Lockes dad.

Who's Dr Hottbutt?

ooh. OOH!!!

Dr hotbutt is from scrubs. He's the guy who plays make-up boy. He was the guy Carla went on a date with just before getting married.

Also, i have to go back and watch first and second season, when do they alude that Locke's dad is the guy that conned Sawyers fam?

Let me just make sure we're talking about the same guy. You're talking about chip the gimp we share right?

The guy who drafted juliet, and was with ben and locke when the revealed locke's "Dad"?

EDIT: Just re-read Faze's post. I'm calling him Dr Hotbutt in ref to his character in scrubs, in which his IS a doctor and carla calls him "Dr Hotbutt"

I'm going to Double Post, you know why? Because i can!*

"As the truth about Sun's kidnapping by "the Others" comes to her attention, Hurley becomes suspicious of Sawyer's attempt to reveal the mystery behind two fellow survivors, Nikki and Paulo. Through series of flashbacks we will discover what Nikki and Paulo were doing before the crash and how they survived 65 days on the island."

Maybe we'll start liking them because they will turn out to be bad and each survivor will take it in turns to savagely(SP? i haven't been able to spell this worl for days) beat and rape them?

* Fully expects this post to be edited by a mod.

Good question.

There were airdrops, but Ben mentioned in the last episode that after the sky went purple (thanks to Locke's and Desmond's actions) they have lost the ability to communicate with the outside world. So it might be that there will be no further supply deliveries....

It might be true however, that Ben's parents belonged to the initial Dharma operation. Most of the equipment looks quite old, as if it had been made in the 60s. And that would coincide with Ben's age.

But I wouldn't be surprised if there is some truth to Mikhail's story of some sort of fight. It seems quite evident that the Others have extenisve plans for dealing with unexpected guests...

EDIT: No matter what kind of story they are coming up with, I don't like them. Feed'em to the BCT™, damnit!   :D

Chay, I said "some truth" for a reason.  :p

We still do not really know what the actual purpose of the Dharma operation on the island is.

There is quite alot on this island that is either unexplained or doesn't seem to make sense at the moment.

Was there already a theory about everything being inside someone's head?
I'm thinking the point of it all may be hypnotic therapy group sessions with the main characters.

Yes. It had been discussed after the Hurley episode with his imaginary friend.

But this "it's all happening in your head" would be kinda lame as this has been done to death.

Slackit's right, the pigs walking thing was an absolute reference to Animal Farm.

And I never thought about the spiders being a form of smokey...I just assumed all the other spiders came because of what Arzt said: when the spider releases it's pheromones, tons of males immediately come. But you've made me think, because it did have the smokey noises right before she was bitten. Perhaps the smoke monster wasn't precisely the spider, but that the smoke monster noise/presence represents death...I don't know.

I was laughing at the end of the episode, though. And I'm sick (some virus), so my voice is all fucked up, so it was the evilest laugh you'd have ever heard.

Somehow this makes me think that the creators of Lost do read what is demanded on the various forums in the Internet.

From their first appearance there was this consensus that those new people have to die.
Now we got our wish. It is interesting though, that all the new people (aside from the Others) that have been introduced since season 1 have been killed off soon after:
Mr Arzt
Ana-Lucia
Libby
Mr Eko
Nikki
Paulo
If I were Desmond I would be far more concerned about my own well-being instead of playing Charlie's guardian angel.    :p

Also, I demand that a wet T-shirt contest is held on island.
Worth a try, I say.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Vincent's presence represents death.  :p

I think the spiders were just that, spiders. But our good friend, the BCT™ was definitely around. I think that the creators of Lost mentioned something that there different forms of the BCT™, so just because you hear the noise must not mean that the Eko smashing form is about to appear...

Yeah, quite an evil, yet disturbingly hilarious end.

Also, I loved Nikki's bit about being a guest star, so no resurrection for her (or Paulo).  :evillaugh:

I think it's cruel that Michael and Walt forgot to take Vincent with them! What the hell is with that? Ben told them they wouldn't be able to return to the island ever...

Anyway, ya that guest start thing in the flashback was a good foreshadow.

Also, a couple other things...in The Man From Tallahassee, when Locke was watching TV in a flashback, that was Expose.
Also, Nikki wasn't saying "Paulo lies"...she was saying "paralyzed"! Of course! It's all so obvious now!

I'm just realizing now, as well...why didn't Hurley/Sawyer/etc. check their pulse or whatever? WTF?!
