Stop watching Friends!
Futurama's got so many imponderables it's got plot ammunition for ever. Leela's origin, Nibbler's race, Hermes' family, Cubert, the Professor and Mom, Amy's parents, Fry's future, Amy and Kif, Leela and Fry, the autopilot, Scruffy...
A plot of a Futurama episode can be about almost anything, and TOUCH on any of the above 'issues'. Alternatively it could go into any of them in a little more depth and detail. At the moment it can go anywhere, do anything. If you straightjacket major characters into roles, you limit the stuff they can do.
Marcus.

Hi, I'm new .) Of course they should get together, but over a very long, painfully drawn out, complicated, hilarious courtship. On the very last episode- which is of course not too far away But I mean, seriously, did anyone else even watch the valentine's episode this year? How could they not get together after *that*? Leela and Fry are like Han and Leia, or a young Marge and Homer, or Niles and Daphne... sorry, they're not like Buffy and Spike, but they still have that not-completely-platonic, love-like-hate, denial thing going on. It's cute and it's inevitable. It's what Groening has been setting up for all along, I think. Yay!
