Leela Region: #1 Turanga Leela vs #5 Lrrr

Leela's slowly been picking up a lot of votes against her in recent rounds, coming to a headway versus Roberto, who she beat by only 6 votes. LRRR RULER OF THE PLANET OMICRON PERSEI 8! had a even closer round last time, only beating Nixon by a single vote! Who'll move on here? Discuss now and the poll opens tonight at midnight!

Lrrr. Everytime I see him in this poll I only vote for him because of the part where he is high in TPWP.

Lrrr should have not won the last round against Nixon.
Solely for that I will give my vote for Leela here (and for other reasons I don't care to elaborate now).

But yea, hat Nixon won last round he would have gotten my vote again.

I must admit, I am concurring fully with Bend-err here.  I know a lot of people will vote against Leela purely for her character, and while I think that's fair (it is, it is what the Madness is about!), I still don't think Lrrr deserves to win.  He won the last poll like Kennedy in 1960.

My apologies to Nixon's legacy.

Leela, because she's my favorite character on the show. Even though I know she's not going to win the competition, I'd like to see her make it a teensy bit farther. And besides, Lrrr is far from being the best character on the show (I voted for him in the last round, but still)--at the very least, he's one-dimensional and Leela's not.

You're right, Leela is a bitch in multiple dimensions. I think that I'll vote for Lrrr on that basis.

Except she's not a bitch in all eleven dimensions. Probably only two of them, if even. And being a nine-dimensional non-bitch is much better than being a one-dimensional vaguely amusing entity.

I did vote for Lrrr against Nixon, but only because he is an original character. As Leela is very much an original character, and a really brilliant, interestingly developed one at that, this logic fails to convince me to vote for Lrrr again.

Also, I like Leela. A lot.

Well..I already made my point regarding Leela's design flaws (I have to admit that I am less forgiving regarding the protagonists).
So, my vote goes to her opponent...

Leela will move on, winning by five votes over Lrrr (who sounds nothing like the Horrible Gelatinous Blob or Morbo). Lrrr's a very good character; funny, not one-dimensional, a pretty unique spin on the whole incompetent ruler character. But I'll be voting for him because he never annoys me and Leela does at times.

I am voting against Lrrr purely on principle.  He should never have won over Nixon.  That was my stance in my earlier post, and I have yet to change it.  Lrrr's support is completely unjust.

The haters are outspoken now Spira, but come voting time I doubt we will overcome the majority who favor Leela. If Roberto couldn't do it, I don't think Lrrr can- though he looks to have a slightly better shot at it. That's my rambling opinion, anyway. Next round though, Leela's in for it!

 I did too, after all Leela's my second favourite principal female character, after Amy.

Agreed, considering last time Leela eliminated Bender in the semi just to lose to Fry in the finals, it's quite a hit she took over the years in her popularity.

Well, she's become quite the heartless, selfish, uncaring and generally unrepentant bitch over the course of the movies and the last season. I know it's not entirely the fault of the character that the writers have dicked both her and Fry (not to mention their relationship) around so much... but I have yet to notice Hermes or Amy or even the Professor becoming steadily more and more of a bitch just for the sake of the plot - and they've all had their own plots this last season.

Leela's no longer who she was. It's a shame, but there's no two ways about it. She's become a bitch.

Agreed, and I liked her very much!  Python references aside, I'm sure the coming season will have her expressing more of the compassionate and tender aspects of her personality.
