Leela Region: #2 Hermes Conrad vs #7 The Hyperchicken

Hermes only had 7 votes against him combined the last two rounds, while the Hyperchicken faced much adversity to reach this round. Who'll reign supreme? Discuss now and the poll opens tomorrow at midnight!

I don't even like the Hyperchicken. I think I voted against him at least once. Whereas Hermes is a great character who's recently been expanded and given many more layers of depth.

It's an easy decision for me. I'm not a huge fan of the Hyperchicken. He's good for the odd moment here and there, but Hermes is a wonderful and vastly untapped character.

I think the Hyperchicken is hilarious, if not a bit too one-note. That said, though I've voted against Hermes in the past, he deserves a win here. I do like what they've done with his character in the new run--not only in "Lethal Inspection" but in, say, "The Prisoner of Benda" (I liked how he served as a sort of confidante and borderline father figure for Fry and Amy) and the much-derided "Neutopia" (what can I say? That episode actually compelled me to invest in his relationship with LaBarbara).

I was leaning towards voting for the Hyperchicken again but Gorky made a good point about how much more of a like-able and fleshed-out character Hermes has become in recent episodes, so I voted for Hermes.

Hermes and LaBarbara were one of the few shining lights in the wreckage that was Neutopia. Valid point. I voted for Hermes.

Overall, I think the Hyperchicken would be the tastier if both characters were killed and deep-fried, so he gets my vote. Can't argue with extra-crispy recipe.
