Leela's faced some adversity to get here, having the most votes against her of any #1 seed. Roberto has breezed past his competition in comparison, having more votes for him and less against him than Leela had in the first two rounds. Who'll move on here? Discuss now and the poll opens tomorrow at midnight!

Leela. Leela Leela Leela. Save Fry, save Fry!

Roberto's funny. Insane in the Mainframe is a particularly good, underrated ep (you no good fifty-sixer!). But I can't say I care about him overmuch. Leela, regardless of what anyone thinks of her actions in some recent episodes, has come so far as a character from the pilot and it's been at times hilarious and at other times heartbreaking to watch that development.

I will vote for Leela on this one, but probably not the next round.

I agree with Spira that they made great progress on that character.
But still -imhO- certain character design flaws* affected her during the series.
Too much that I would wish this character an overall victory....
(A solid season 7 Leela might change my mind on that one.)

*(I will not mention and explain them here, for this would be too OT and too long. Should anyone REALLY be overcurious what flaws are meant -which I doubt ;) - he/she can still drop me a PM ;) )

This is a tough call for me, I'm on the fence at the minute.

I'm edging towards Roberto because he's hilarious and I like his character design.

But Leela is an incredibly important core element of the show. But then, I don't know if that's really down to her character. I love what depth she gives to Fry, but that means I should vote for Fry, right?

Yikes. I can see Leela losing here, since Roberto is so beloved--but I really don't want her to. Not yet. I understand the complaints people make about her character, but it's that complexity--which manifests itself in occasionally annoying and borderline-reprehensible ways--that makes her so great, in my eyes.

And I agree with this...

I love what depth she gives to Fry

...but also think that means one ought to vote for both Fry and Leela. ;)

Roberto, because Leela can be quite annoying at times...

So can Roberto, though. I dunno, I was less than impressed by his character in Bender's Game, and in a lot of other venues outside of Insane in the Mainframe.

The only Leela Region character I am really okay with Leela losing to is Robot Devil.

Comedy isn't Leela's schtick so Roberto being funnier than Leela isn't enough to to sway it for me.

I went with Leela because of the above post.

You swayed my opinion, hobbitboy!

Roberto is funny but Leela has had some great episodes (remember the ending to Leela's Homeworld? Huh?! REMEMBER?!), not to mention the whole "Leela is really a mutant" secret thingy.

So, yeah, I voted for Leela.

I'm voting for Roberto. Leela doesn't stab nearly as many people as she ought to.

Okay, I decided to vote against Leela already in that round.
Regarding the character's overall performance, Leela still bears the stain of too many old "Mary-Sueism" debts for a protagonist.
(The early Leela would imhO been a really good supporting character: An overprefect character, coming to the last second rescue with every needed ability suddenly present, played tongue-in-cheek as a running gag. But that's just not enough for a protagonist...I was fine with season 6 Leela: Better an occasional bitch than a Mary Sue in the main cast ;) )

I thought Roberto was almost as funny as ever in Bender's game. I'm votin' for him because every time he's involved in an episode or movie, he's hilarious. Leela annoys me sometimes.

This is also true. Don't judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree.

It's going to be close, pretty sure, unless there is some silent majority lurking. Which makes me kind of sad. I am okay with Leela losing to some characters but not to Roberto. He's just too uninteresting and underdeveloped for that.

Leela winning does not surprise me, but I am quite intrigued by the amount of votes for Roberto.  Leela is not going to win against another popular character.

That, sir, sounds like a challenge. Prepare for me to pontificate my ass off in the next Leela vs. whoever match-up. I will sway voters' minds in Leela's direction if it's the last thing I do!

This was closer than I expected.
I know Leela's been unpopular lately, but she should have won by a larger margin than this.
