Bender Region: #2 Amy Wong vs #10 Linda

In the last of the Bender Region Quarterfinal match-ups, we have Amy versus Linda. Amy clobbered Dr. Katz but didn't do as well against the Hypnotoad. Linda eased past George Takei and defeated Sweet Clyde to get here. Which feminista will prevail? Discuss now and the poll will open at midnight tonight!

Linda is funny with Morbo (and we've seen that she can also be funny on her own) but Amy is a member of the Planet Express crew, is from Mars and has a disfiguring scar on her shoulder, which we all know is a recipe for a winner... Or something.

Yeah, Amy is the one I'll be voting for.

Gotta agree with Jezzem, gonna go with Amy too. Linda needs more time away from Morbo to show whether or not she can justify a win over Amy.

I'm going with Linda--partly out of pity, partly because Svip's post in the Fry/Gore thread got me thinking about the strangeness of voting for a main character simply because he or she is a main character, and partly because I laugh more consistently when Linda's on my screen than when Amy is.

Amy is a good character and I won't be surprised when she wins, but Linda is a personal favorite of mine--and it doesn't seem unreasonable to me, showing her some lovin' in vote form.

Linda deliveres great performance, but it's the same running gag of her not understanding (or pretending not to understand) Morbo's hardly concealed invasion threats.
Amy just got the larger joke repertoire.

Linda probably is funnier but I like Amy more, possibly because, as she is a main character, I've gotten to know her better.

I had a hard time choosing cause I like them both but I chose Amy because the klutziness.

I love the ditsy newscaster and Morbo playing off her "straight man" routine.  But again I have to go with the more developed character.  If Linda ever takes on a major supporting role in a future ep then I might  think differently.

I'm not much of a fan of Linda when she's separated from Morbo. She's had some funny lines alone I guess, but Morbo really brings out the best in her. I went with Amy, though she's my least favorite of the PE crew probably and still a little underdeveloped despite Katz.

She was just indulging in a bit of Mardi Gras revelry like any modern fun-loving woman.  If anyone is basing their vote on the frequency or degree of nudilly behaviour I suggest that Amy should receive their votes, hands down.

Yep, Linda did better than I would have guessed.
I like about Linda often leaving one question:

- Does she represent the "dumb public", where everyone 8including Linda) is to stupid to get Morbo's really badly concealed invasion plans?
- Or does she get it, but on a "What the heck, I am not getting paid for this" she just goes on with her expected job (smiling, and cheerfully announing the next news)?

I've always thought more the latter. Plus, it's dubious how thought-out of a plan he has - or if he even actually has invasion plans at all. "I WILL DESTROY YOU!" might just be an oft-used part of his lexicon.
