Bender Region: #29 Morgan Proctor vs #5 Cubert Farnsworth

The second Bender Region Quarterfinal features one of the two cinderellas in the region, Morgan Proctor, versus Cubert Farnsworth. Morgan squeezed past Flexo and Yancy Senior to get here, while Cubert defeated Beck and eked past Ndnd. Who'll win here? Discuss now and the poll will open at midnight tonight!

I'll be voting for Cubert. Morgan is sexy or whatever, but I find Cubert to be a far more enjoyable character, even when he's being annoying.

Morgan for the suppressed tension she brings.  Cubert is OK and sometimes helpful advancing the plotline, but I don't think he tops Morgan.

I really don't like the Cubert character that much, sure he has some really great moments once in a while, but also delivers some real stinkers at other times.
Morgan only had one major appearance, but in that she was awesome.
So Morgan for me.

Cubert, definitely. I never knew Morgan had such a following; she's a funny enough love interest-type character in a season that's full of 'em, and I enjoy "How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back" quite a bit. But Morgan is a one-off character, and Cubert (like I've said before) is much more important to the series, and has really proven himself in season six.

I repeat myself: Should Cubert have remained the initially planned "nitpicking nerd pointing out all of the show's mistakes", he might have had the potential to be one of the greatest characters ever.
But he still has a certain appeal, while Morgan was just too much the "classical bitch" for me. Her character filled it's role in a solid and working,  but not extremely outstanding way.

My rule says that a contest between a one-off vs (semi-)regular goes to the (semi-)regular. But there's an exception to every rule and this is it.

I dislike Cubert immensely.

Plus Morgan has the "Dirty boy!" thing which is soo fun to say randomly to people and freak them out.

Morgan was funny when she appeared, but Cubert's semi-regular.
That, and I actually have enjoyed Cubert lately. I used to hate him with a passion, but not anymore. Part of this is because he's been more sympathetic lately, and part of it is because I was similarly obnoxious as a teenager.

Morgan is just annoying. Sure 99.9% of guys would do her, but besides the sexiness, just no.

I thought Morgan was hilarious and HRHGB is one of my favorite episodes. Cubert is admittedly a bit annoying and I voted for Morgan because I do genuinely enjoy her more than I do him.

Why is it a bad result?  Who you voted for didn't win? 

A one-episode pony such as Morgan shouldn't have made it this far anyway.

See, SpaceMaN, that is where your opinion is wrong and you should thus be relieved of being able to participate in these votes.

Your argument is based purely on the amount of screen time a character gets, which is hardly fair or interesting for that matter.  You want an uninteresting result?  Keep that mindset.

Actually my argument is based on the fact I think Cubert is more valuable to the show than Morgan.  Glad you were in my head to get that wrong though.

Also, it's good to see how differing opinions are welcomed in this "competition."  You know, so the results aren't always the same.

So you would argue Fry is more valuable to the show than Brannigan?  Thanks, got it.  Exactly what I said, just a different wording.

That is not what I am saying at all, I voted for Cubert because I think he is a better and more interesting character than Morgan rather than saying 'he is more valuable to the show' or 'he is a more prominent character'.  I am saying the premise of your opinion is wrong.

As it's "opinion" it can't really be wrong.  Maybe wrong to you, but what do I care what you think?  It doesn't affect my opinion. 

Yes, obviously Fry is more valuable to the show than Zapp.  Are you saying he's not?

Since I joined here, you've had some beef with me over whatever.  What's the deal?

Also, after giving your reason for voting for Cubert, I could say "the premise of your opinion is wrong" too, but I'm not a dick that hates everyone who thinks differently than I do.  So what if I think Morgan made it farther than she should have, solely because she's a promiscuous slut that had sex with a nerd?  I've always thought her character was stupid and superficial, but that's my opinion, so of course its wrong.

Fry is easily more valuable to the show than Brannigan. Think of it this way... could the show continue without Fry? No. Could it continue without Brannigan? Yes.

I prefer Brannigan, but that doesn't make him more important to the show.

I concur, but is that the reason why you should vote for Fry?  If so, then a computer could vote for these characters rather than us.

It's not the only reason - hence why I'll be voting for Brannigan over Fry should that match-up occur, but I think it's one of many factors to consider when making the decision.

I don't think there's anything wrong with Morgan coming this far in the competition or with Morgan beating Cubert had that happened. Though she was a one-off, she was hilarious and did lead to some deeper characterization of Hermes. It wasn't as though she was absolutely useless.

I'll be voting for Brannigan over Fry for similar reasons - Brannigan is funnier. Plus in that match-up both of them have contributed much to the show.
